Modulinių laukiamojo baldų projektas / Project of the modular lounge furniture

Bendikaitė, Renida 02 September 2010 (has links)
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Three variations of the modular lounge furniture are presented. The main material used to make furniture is plastic. Plastic furniture is comfortable and cheaper. It is easy to handle and move from one place to another. Therefore the change of furniture arrangement does not cause any problems. This project does not accurately follow the plan; modular furniture was designed for the airport departue lounge, but it can be adjusted to use in other public space, such as ralway or bus station, etc. Five ideas were chosen and three of them were developed till the end. All three variations include a luminous module as a central part with water and sitting possibility designed. The first variation consists of luminous element for a blunt corner, metal element for a sharp corner, plastic element for an acute corner, plastic loop, litterbin and a central part. Central part ties in a floor with a ceiling, it includes LED ilumination and running water segment installed. The second variation consists of the comb form elements – sitting element without a backrest, luminous sitting element with a backrest, element with a grass inside it, litterbin and a central part. Central part is designed using different sizes of the comb form marble flats with illumination and water body installed. The third variation consists of the sitting part, luminous element, litterbin and central part. Central part includes a fountain with wide edges to sit on. Illumination is installed under the sitting part.

Implementing automated decision systems to optomise customer life cycle management in the retail furniture industry in South Africa.

January 2003 (has links)
The origins of the retail furniture industry commenced with family run stores, traditionally known as "momma and poppa" stores as they were entrenched in certain families. A feature of these stores was that they traded with people that they knew and enjoyed a great deal of loyalty. As the businesses grew there was a need to supply furniture to their clientele with a facility to repay the full price over a number of months. Such arrangements were typically concluded on trust as the customers were well known by the owners. The industry has evolved from this type of operation to a multi-billion rand industry. In terms of the size of business that is transacted and the size of the major furniture retailing organisations, it is simply not possible to continue doing business in accordance with the same ethos that prevailed during the early days. However, given the decentralised nature of the industry, the philosophy of knowing their customers has prevailed and this notion of wanting to conduct business on this basis has largely been responsible for a many critical functions remaining under the control of the individual stores within the broader network. In terms of the high volume of transactions that are currently concluded, it is extremely difficult to ensure that the application of policy and risk-based decisions are made on a consistent basis. From a cost effectiveness and productivity point of view, it is not possible to realise efficiencies and economies of scale that could be enjoyed if certain business processes were centralised. The intention of this research is to evaluate how the introduction of automated decision making business processes can contribute towards managing the organisation's exposure to risk with the view to achieving required levels of organizational performance and also sustainable value creation through a customer-centric philosophy. / Thesis (MBA)-University of Natal, Durban, 2003.

Klubinių baldų projektas / Club furniture design

Kasčiukaitis, Edmundas 07 September 2010 (has links)
Club furniture design project consists of a chair, a table and a pouffe. This theme was chosen for the following reasons: the choise of this type of furniture is relatively small, such furniture is expensive and the topic is close to me. The shape and the colour are inspired by nature – the coconut. The main criteria I followed in my diploma work were: functionality, aesthetic appearance, high quality and low price. The created furniture is practical because of the parts that can be replaced. These parts can be easily replaced when smeard or mechanically broken and that is really important because it does not require additional expenses (transportation, furniture reclothing, labour price). Due to these removable parts, the designed furniture can be easily adapted to any interior – the colour and the material of the parts can be changed (leather, cloth, ect.). The attached part in the back of the armchair is my solution, variuos parts of other form can be made and attached. Other notes that are wanted to be populatized can be used instead of „COCONUT“. The Bachelor work consists of five flatbeds, the note folder, the folder of drawings, brochure and the product – an armchair.

Strategisk riskhantering inom möbelbranschen : En intervjustudie om riskhantering / Strategic risk management in the furniture industry : An interview study on risk management

Kozul, Branka January 2018 (has links)
Background: Globalization and development as well as increasing competition have increased risks for many companies. This, together with the previously emerging financial crises in the world, has led to the increased importance of risk management. Risk has become an important factor that each company should consider and manage based on its own needs. With the availability of raw materials, experience and knowledge, the Swedish furniture in- dustry is an important industry for the country's economy, most of which involves the manufacture of office furniture, which belongs to the industry line "public environment". Sweden's commitment to the public environment is important for society due to faster development and digitization, where there is an increasing need for creative and flexible interior design solutions for activity-based workplaces. With increasing demands on quality, design and sustainable products, manufacturing furniture companies are a subject to various risks that are industry-specific and therefore must be treated. There are currently three standard frameworks used for risk management, namely COSO ERM, ISO 31 000 and FERMA. The frameworks are intended to help companies manage their risks systematically. What previous studies indicate, however, are that these frameworks are too general and not adapted to a company's specific needs. Purpose: The purpose of this study is:-to identify which risks and risk areas are perceived as most problematic at present time and in the future,-to describe and analyze how manufacturing companies in the Swedish furniture industry cur- rently handle risks and-to develop a risk management model that is adapted to manufacturing companies in the Swe- dish furniture industry. Method: A qualitative interview study based on the theoretical reference frame and on a study keywords. Empire for the study has been obtained through semi structured interviews from six companies of various sizes that manufacture office furniture for public spaces. Conclusion: The collected empirical material has given me an insight of various risks that the industry faces today and which should be addressed. These risks are retailers, dependence on architects, changed trends in interior decoration of public spaces and to some extent transport problems, that is flat packages. Risk areas facing the industry in the future, apart from chang- ing office trends and lack of proper skilled staff, include circular economics, architects' power, retailers and flat-rate packages. Since the industry does not work actively with risk man- agement and with the disadvantages existing risk management frameworks possess, a custom- ized risk management model for manufacturing companies in the industry has been developed.

Panorama da produção de mobiliário residencial em madeira no Brasil / Overview of production of residential furniture made out of wood in Brazil

Ana Frieda Ávila Nossack 09 April 2014 (has links)
The branch of industry for the production of residential furniture made out of wood and derivatives was restructured on the last two decades, in the 90\'s through the widening of international trade, and from 2000 on, through the growth of the internal market. The purpose of this work is to present an overview of this production in Brazil, nowadays targeted to the internal market, and identify its productive basis, the supply of inputs and raw materials, production itself and sale. An attempt was made to follow the branch\'s dynamics, and to seek and localize the development and appropriation of innovative practices along the whole process. The investigations revealed: the current productive paradigm based on the generalized use of reconstituted wood (mainly medium density fiberboard - MDF, and medium density particleboard - MDP); the criteria for product differentiation according to social strata and the interaction between the agents involved in the productive process. There was also a concern in locating historically these recent changes undergone in the branch.
