Estudo de gradientes térmicos e deformações em "whitetopping" ultradelgado. / Thermal gradients and deformations in ultra-thin witetopping.

Propiciado pela construção de uma pista experimental inteiramente instrumentada com medidores de deformação e de temperatura na Cidade Universitária, este trabalho buscou o entendimento de inúmeros fatores intervenientes no desempenho do whitetopping ultradelgado, recente técnica de manutenção de pavimentos asfálticos com a utilização de delgadas placas de concreto, sob tráfego característico urbano, em condições tipicamente tropicais de uso, sobre uma pequena espessura de concreto asfáltico remanescente de fresagem. Com o intuito de nortear o problema em questão, além da revisão bibliográfica, foram realizados levantamentos periódicos das condições estruturais e funcionais deste pavimento; leituras contínuas de temperaturas e deformações obtidas por meio de um sistema automatizado de captação de dados junto aos instrumentos colocados no interior das placas; caracterização dos gradientes térmicos presentes nas placas durante as diferentes estações climáticas do ano. Foram realizadas provas de carga, estáticas e dinâmicas, com intuito de verificar os reais níveis de deformação aos quais as placas estariam sujeitas quando da interação com o tráfego; posteriormente, realizou-se modelagem numérica por meio de um programa de elementos finitos objetivando uma comparação com os dados obtidos nas provas de carga, analisando inclusive o posicionamento da linha neutra neste pavimento composto. Por fim, em uma sucinta abordagem sobre as deflexões antes e depois da execução do whitetopping ultradelgado, observou-se o tipo de comportamento estrutural do pavimento nas condições em que o experimento foi realizado. Ao término da pesquisa, inferiu-se que os gradientes térmicos dependem de vários fatores climáticos que não somente a temperatura ambiente, importando também a irradiação solar, o número de horas de sol, a velocidade de crescimento e decréscimo da temperatura ambiente; os gradientes térmicos encontrados não são importantes para o acréscimo nos níveis de tensões nas placas, não alterando assim a vida à fadiga do whitetopping ultradelgado, considerada a magnitude destes gradientes, as diminutas dimensões das placas e ainda a presença de aderência na interface concreto e concreto asfáltico. Em provas de carga, concluiu-se que os valores de tensões obtidos em campo mantêm grandezas semelhantes com os provenientes de modelos numéricos e ainda observou-se o vasto potencial de utilização das provas dinâmicas. Dado o excelente desempenho observado nas condições do experimento, mesmo com as placas aderidas a uma delgada camada asfáltica, fator que diferentemente do relatado no exterior não comprometeu o desempenho, não foi possível fazer uma avaliação em termos funcionais do desempenho deste tipo de pavimento. Verificou-se a significativa redução nas deflexões após a execução das placas, visualizando inclusive a transferência de cargas entre sucessivas placas, quando mantida a integridade estrutural das demais camadas do pavimento. / In this work, several factors affecting behavior and performance of ultra-thin whitetopping were evaluated taking advantage of a full scale experimental pavement, restored by applying such technique. Temperatures and thermal gradients in concrete thin slabs were evaluated by almost one year, comprising al the seasons. Load tests were carried out to allow strains measurements on concrete as well to define the deflection basins on whitetopped pavements. The experimental research has permitted to verify the dependence of thermal gradients on air temperature and solar radiation among other factors. It was observed that the thermal gradients practically do not affect behavior of the thin slabs. Stresses received from load tests compared to finite element generated stresses shown to maintain a good and closed relation. Due to good performance observed along the experiment it became not possible to establish patterns of functional performance. Expressive decrease of deflection level was observed over concrete overlays allowing to infer some load transfer on joints when the slabs are to be laid over non distressed old asphalt pavements.

Le droit français des sûretés mobilières dans le contexte européen et international / The French law of movables securities in International and European context

Depuis 2006, le droit français des sûretés mobilières conventionnelles a connu un véritable bouleversement. À travers celui-ci, il s’est agi pour le législateur français de moderniser et de rendre plus compétitif le droit interne. Essentielles au crédit et donc à l’économie, les sûretés mobilières constituent en effet un élément important de l’attractivité d’un système juridique par rapport aux autres.Pourtant, la question de l’efficacité de ces sûretés soulève des difficultés lorsqu’elles évoluent dans une situation présentant un élément d’extranéité. En effet depuis 1933, la Cour de cassation affirme que la loi française est applicable aux droits réels dont sont l’objet les biens meubles situés en France. Cette solution conduit la Cour de cassation à juger incompatible avec des principes fondamentaux de l’ordre juridique français les sûretés étrangères qui lui sont soumises.Toutefois, les réformes entreprises depuis 2006 devraient atténuer cette hostilité du droit français à l’égard des sûretés étrangères. En effet, dans le cadre de ces réformes, le législateur s’est inspiré plus ou moins directement de ce qui est perçu comme le meilleur à l’international de sorte que certains mécanismes étrangers ont traversé la frontière. Tel est le cas du trust, qui à travers la fiducie reçoit une certaine consécration en droit français. C’est aussi dans le but de rendre plus attractif le droit français des sûretés mobilières que le législateur a réformé le droit commun du gage. En consacrant la possibilité de constituer un gage sans dépossession, le législateur a rapproché le droit français des sûretés mobilières du modèle de la sûreté unique en vigueur aux États-Unis ou au Québec. / Since 2006, the French law of movables securities has gone through major upheavals. The legislator tried to upgrade and make that part of French law more competitive. Essential to loaning and therefore to the economy, movables securities play a substantial role in the attractiveness of one law system over another.However, the real efficiency of those securities raises many uncertainties when a foreign element is to be taken into account. Indeed, since 1933, the French Supreme Court rules that French law is relevant when considering in rem rights of personal property located in France. This ruling leads the French Supreme Court to judge foreign securities incompatible with the key elements of the French legal system.To lessen the hostility that French law has towards foreign securities, some changes were introduced since 2006. Indeed, the law-making process, more or less inspired by what's perceived as best abroad, tried to integrate some foreign tools into French law. That is especially true for trust law which shyly integrated our legal system through the "fiducie" mechanism. Always aiming to make French law more attractive, the legislator amended the pledge. By allowing to create a pledge without delivery, the French law of movables securities became closer to US or Quebec law where you only have one security.

A material’s Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE) is a valuable physical property, particularly for structural fiber reinforced composites that are routinely used in satellite/aerospace applications. Satellite space structures are routinely designed with a high degree of dimensional and thermal stability. Designing and verifying for near zero CTE performance is a common design requirement. The CTE is routinely a physical property with known values for common materials. However, the strength, stiffness and CTE properties on a multi-ply graphite fiber reinforced laminate composite can be tailored to specific engineering requirements. Because of this, a method of verification (testing) is routinely performed to ensure these requirements are met.

Foot Force Sensor Implementation and Analysis of ZMP Walking on 2D Bipedal Robot with Linear Actuators

The objectives of this study were to implement force sensors on the feet of a bipedal robot and analyze their response at different conditions. The data will be used to design a control strategy for the robot. The powered joints of the robot are driven by linear motors. A force sensor circuit was made and calibrated with different kinds of weight. A trajectory generator and inverse kinematics calculator for the robot were made to control the robot walking movement in an open-loop manner. The force data were taken at a certain period of time when the robot was in a standing position. Experiments with external disturbances were also performed on the robot. The ZMP position and mass of the robot were calculated by using the data of force sensors.
