Generátor náhodných čísel / Random number generatorKrižan, Viliam January 2015 (has links)
This master thesis deals with a generation of random numbers and Fortuna generator implementation in Java language. In the first part the theoretical familiarization to the issues is introduced. Various entropy sources like mouse movement, keyboard typing, microphone and web camera noise are described and analysed. The analysis focuses on randomness, usability and volume of gathered data. Also the Fortuna random number generator is described from the theoretical view. Object analysis and implementation details are described in the last chapter of the document.

Analýza přestupu tepla v parogenerátorech bloků VVER 440 / Trasfer Heat Analysis in Steam Generators in blocks of VVER 440Roupec, Petr January 2010 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the heat transfer in steam generator of blocks in the nuclear power plant VVER 440. The steam generator represents the border between the primary and the secondary circuit. The heat is carried from a warm water from reactor to a cold water. The steam arises after the heat transfer and drives the steam turbine. An important quantity which represents the heat transfer is a heat transfer factor. This thesis is divided into theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part is mentioned a principle of the steam generator and the theoretical calculation of the heat transfer factor, which comes first of all from the character of the streaming in the steam generator. The practical part brings a comparison of the heat transfer factor calculated from data measured after the start of the third block of EDU in 1986, with the heat transfer factor which comes from the measurement after the power-increase for 105 % of nominal power of the same block in 2009. Further is shown the prediction of the heat transfer factor for next power-increase and the following service is shown too.

Inequality in the Distribution of Social Capital : Social background factors and access to social capital among labor market entrantsAndersson, Anton January 2013 (has links)
This thesis examines the relation between ascribed factors and the distribution of social capital among young adults. Information about the type of ties used in access to social capital is utilized to provide an understanding of the social contexts and mechanisms that play a role in the creation of social capital. The study measures social capital with a position generator methodology and utilizes the first wave of the Swedish LIFINCON survey, which is a study of 19 year olds of Iranian, Yugoslavian and Swedish origin. The results show that having socioeconomically advantaged parents and living in a large city region is associated with higher levels of social capital. Gender differences are found in the accessed range of social capital as women more often reached positions with the lowest prestige value. Background in Iran or Yugoslavia has a positive effect on social capital and parents’ class position in the country of origin is important for their children’ social capital. It is argued that social closure and social distance can explain why social background is important in determining access to high prestige social capital and that the composition of an individual network is affected by the average resources in a “group” or region.

Quantification of Sodium in Bone and Soft Tissue with In Vivo Neutron Activation AnalysisMychaela D Coyne (9027296) 29 June 2020 (has links)

Excess sodium (Na) intake is directly related to hypertension and an increased risk of developing many chronic diseases, but there is currently no method to directly quantify Na retained in the body. Because of this, the locations of Na storage and its exchange mechanisms are not well known. This information is critical for understanding the impact of increased Na intake in modern diets. In order to non-invasively quantify Na in bone and soft tissue, a compact deuterium-deuterium (DD) neutron generator-based in vivo neutron activation analysis (IVNAA) system was developed. MCNP was used to design a custom irradiation assembly to maximize Na activation in hand bone while minimizing dose. In order to test the system, live pigs were used. Two 100% efficient high purity germanium (HPGe) detectors collected Na-24 counts over 24 hours post irradiation. From the pig studies, a two-compartment model of exchange was developed to quantify Na in bone and in soft tissue. The right legs of four live pigs, two on a low Na diet and two on a high Na diet, both for 14 days, were irradiated inside the customized irradiation cave for 10 minutes (45 mSv dose to the leg) and then measured with the HPGe detectors. The spectra were analyzed to obtain the net Na counts at different time points. Analysis shows exponential decrease of Na in the leg during the first one hour of measurement, while the change was minimal at the second hour, and the counts were stabilized at the second and third 2 hour measurements, taken 7 and 21 hours post irradiation. Bone Na and soft tissue Na concentrations were calculated using calibration lines created with bone and soft tissue equivalent Na phantoms as well as the parameters obtained from the two-compartment model. The results show that the difference in bone and soft tissue Na between the pigs on high vs low Na diets was significant. With these results, we conclude that DD neutron generator-based IVNAA can be used to accurately quantify Na in bone and soft tissue in vivo and the system is a potential valuable tool for nutrition studies.

Design and Implementation of a Traffic Generator using Unified Traffic ModellingBylund, Björn, Blomqvist, Nicklas January 2015 (has links)
This thesis describes the design and implementation of a traffic generator that can simulate the traffic of tens of thousands of networking devices from a given traffic model. It is designed to handle traffic models created with Unified Traffic Modelling. The traffic generator is then evaluated and different solutions are compared in an effort to find the best solution for each issue. This thesis is meant to serve as a guideline for future development of traffic generators by providing insight into the problems faced during the development of one.
