No entanto h? uma necessidade urgente na diversifica??o da nossa matriz de forma que haja uma maior seguran?a para o consumidor em per?odos com escassez de chuva e, al?m disso, que essas varia??es na gera??o de energia el?trica se adaptem ?s discuss?es atuais referentes ? baixa emiss?o de carbono al?m de garantir uma maior preserva??o ambiental. Nesse contexto, surge a energia solar fotovoltaica que, al?m de possuir um grande potencial na produ??o de eletricidade oriunda de um recurso inesgot?vel ? o sol - ainda ? uma fonte energ?tica que contribui imensamente para a economia do pa?s devido ao seu elevado ?ndice de empregabilidade, com pouco mais de oito milh?es de empregos gerados no mundo somente no ano de 2016. Apesar de ainda representar a menor parcela na participa??o da matriz energ?tica el?trica nacional, a energia solar fotovoltaica come?a a mostrar sinais de for?a e potencial em crescimento no cen?rio nacional desde a resolu??o 482 de 2012, atualizada pela norma 687 de 2015 que, juntas, incentivam e criam oportunidades mais acess?veis para o consumidor/gerador de pequeno porte. Com base nos conceitos de mini e micro gera??o distribu?da, contidos nas normas supracitadas, o Instituto Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN) foi a primeira institui??o de ensino p?blica no Brasil a aderir ao sistema de compensa??o energ?tica regulamentado pela ANEEL e hoje j? conta com 14 usinas em opera??o onde quatro encontram-se em projeto de amplia??o e outras sete encontram-se em fase de instala??o. Uma dessas usinas situa-se no campus da cidade de Santa Cruz localizada na mesorregi?o do agreste potiguar. A mesma possui um sistema de micro gera??o fotovoltaica conectada ? rede com pot?ncia nominal de instala??o de 84kWp e ser? tema de discuss?o nesse trabalho. Essa disserta??o ter? como objetivo uma an?lise t?cnica (atrav?s das an?lises da produtividade do sistema, produtividade de refer?ncia, desempenho global - performance ratio) e econ?mica (an?lise pelo m?todo payback simples e descontado, Valor Presente L?quido ? VPL e a Taxa Interna de Retorno - TIR) do micro gerador fotovoltaico com a finalidade de verificar o funcionamento atual do sistema e compara-lo com outros sistemas. Al?m de verificar a viabilidade econ?mica da instala??o dentro do per?odo de vida ?til dos componentes do sistema fornecido pela empresa respons?vel pela instala??o que ? de 25 anos. / According to national research companies, the Brazilian electrical matrix is almost totally composed by hydroelectric energy, around 65%. However, it is necessary to change our matrix in a way that makes it more secure for the consumers in periods of draught. Moreover, these variations in the electric power generation have to be adapted to the discussions about low carbon emissions and environmental preservation. In this context, the photovoltaic solar energy drawn with an inexhaustible generation fount ? the sun - and great potential in producing electrical energy. Moreover, the photovoltaic solar energy plays a huge contribution to the Brazilian economy due to its high employability index, with more than eight million jobs created in the world in the year of 2016 alone. Despite representing the smallest participation in the national electrical matrix, the photovoltaic solar energy starts to show signs of power and potential in the national scenario since the resolution 482 of 2012, updated by the norm 687 of 2015 that, together, encourage and create opportunities more accessible to the small consumer/generator. According the concepts about mini and micro distributed generation, contained in the norms already cited, the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN) was the first Brazilian public institution of teaching to adhere to the system of electrical energy compensation of the ANEEL and today it counts with 14 plants in operation which four are in extension phase and other seven are in installation phase. One of these plants is located at the Santa Cruz Campus. This plant has a photovoltaic micro generation connected to the grid with installation nominal power of 84kWp and will be the subject of discussion of this master thesis. The target of this master thesis is to perform a technical analysis (through the analyses of system productivity, reference productivity, global performance ? performance ration) and economic analysis (simple and discounted payback, liquid present value ? VPL and intern return index ? TIR) of the photovoltaic micro generator in order to verify the actual operation system condition and compare it with other systems. In addition, this thesis will also verify the economic viability of the installation inside the 25 years? life period of the system components.

However, with the restructuring of the electric sys tem, this topology is changing with the insertion of generators in parallel with the distri bution system (distributed gene- ration) that provides several benefits to be located near to e nergy consumers. Therefore, the integration of distributed generators, especially fro m renewable sources in the Brazi- lian system has been common every year. However, this new sys tem topology may result in new challenges in the field of the power system control, ope ration, and protection. One of the main problems related to the distributed generati on is the islanding formation, witch can result in safety risk to the people and to the power g rid. Among the several islanding protection techniques, passive techniques have low implementation cost and simplicity, requiring only voltage and current measuremen ts to detect system problems. This paper proposes a protection system based on the wavelet transform with overcur- rent and under/overvoltage functions as well as infomation of fault-induced transients in order to provide a fast detection and identification of fault s in the system. The propo- sed protection scheme was evaluated through simulation and experimental studies, with performance similar to the overcurrent and under/overvolt age conventional methods, but with the additional detection of the exact moment of the fault.

Among them are, for example, wind farms, photovoltaic solar energy systems and cogeneration systems forming the so-called Distributed Generation. In view of this global panorama, it is imminent the need to develop new technologies and computer programs that allow the optimization of the connections of generators in the electrical system. This should be done in such a way that, among other advantages, control strategies are improved and efficiency increased. This work presents the creation of Optimal-GeDist software, developed to assist in the planning of electricity distribution networks in medium voltage. This computational tool calculates optimum power injection of the distributed generation in the network bars, in addition to determining the best connection points of future loads that wish to connect to the system. Because it is a problem, in which search space is large and with the possibility of local minimums, it was decided to use the Genetic Algorithm as an optimization tool, more suitable for this type of problem. Through its application, it is possible to find the optimal point of operation of the network in order to optimize the technical losses of the system. For the simulation of the system, it?s opted for the Power Sum load flow method, developed for medium voltage radial systems and presenting a fast and accurate convergence.

Para avalia??o do m?todo proposto, foi utilizando o sistema de 30 barras do IEEE com gera??o distribu?da, assim como, o sistema de 230 kV do IEEE ? par?metros distribu?dos. / Traditionally, the primary protection used in low voltage power systems, as distribution systems, is the overcurrent protection due to its simplicity and low cost. However, in these recent years, the number of distributed generation connected to the system has been growing, which changes the complexity of the system and require a directional module to complement the diagnostic about the fault, providing information whether the fault is forward or reverse according to a reference point. Therefore, in this work is proposed a directional overcurrent protection module based on the stationary discrete wavelet transform. This tool could recreate the standard directional overcurrent protection using just currents and voltages scaling coefficients (low frequency), and the overcurrent protection is recreated by using currents scaling coefficients energy, which overcomes some drawbacks by using discrete Fourier transform. The proposed method was evaluated on the IEEE 30 bus model with distributed generator and the IEEE 230 kV systems analysis with distributed parameters.

Com base nisso, nesta disserta??o s?o avaliados os impactos na rede de distribui??o de energia el?trica decorrentes da conex?o de instala??es fotovoltaicas, em v?rios n?veis de penetra??o. Nesse intuito, ? realizado um estudo de caso que consiste em operar uma planta fotovoltaica de 9 kWp conectada ao ponto de acoplamento comum de uma subesta??o com pot?ncia nominal de 15 kVA. O sistema fotovoltaico utilizado, se divide em: i) sistema trif?sico fixo de 8 kWp e ii) sistema monof?sico fixo de 1 kWp. A avalia??o ? feita com base nos indicadores da qualidade da energia el?trica, que indicam as caracter?sticas de pot?ncia, harm?nicos de tens?o e corrente, desequil?brios entre fases do sistema e regula??o do fator de pot?ncia. A partir da an?lise desses indicadores, obtidos com aux?lio da transformada discreta de Fourier, ? realizada uma an?lise do impacto gerado pela planta fotovoltaica no ponto de conex?o com a rede el?trica. Por meio de resultados experimentais, os indicadores s?o estimados durante a opera??o do sistema fotovoltaico e s?o analisados e comparados com o padr?o internacional estabelecido pelo IEEE (do ingl?s, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). / Currently, incentives for clean energy generation have been increasing considerably due to the limitation of fossil fuels, until then used in abundance. In parallel, distributed generations increase with the reduction of the taxes of the embedded components of the renewable energy sources. However, the power quality (PQ) has been severely affected by the increasing number of these types of energy sources connected to low voltage distribution networks. In this dissertation, the impact on the utility grid will be evaluated under varying levels of a photovoltaic system penetration. A 9 kWp photovoltaic plant, composed of three system topologies connected to a 15 kVA substation common coupling point, will be carried out: a 8 kWp three-phase fixed topology and a 1 kWp fixed single phase. These photovoltaic systems are power electronics based devices, such as inverters constructed from semiconductor switches, which, due to their construction and operation, affect the waveform of the electrical voltage and current, deteriorating the PQ. From the analysis of PQ indices, obtained by means of discrete Fourier transform, for power characteristics, voltage and current harmonics, imbalanced levels among system phases and power factor regulation, an analysis of the impact generated by the photovoltaic plant at its point of connection with the utility grid will be performed. The indices will be analyzed and compared to the standards established by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in order to evaluate the impact caused by the connection of the photovoltaic system at the PCC.

To face the problem it is proposed an algorithm, which is based on the numerical method called particle swarm optimization, applied to the study of AC conventional load flow and optimal load flow for maximizing the penetration of distributed generation. Alternatively, the Newton-Raphson method was incorporated to resolution of the load flow. The computer program is performed with the SCILAB software. The proposed algorithm is tested with the data from the IEEE network with 14 nodes and from another network, this one from the Rio Grande do Norte State, at a high voltage (69 kV), with 25 nodes. The algorithm defines allowed values of nominal active power of distributed generation, in percentage terms relative to the demand of the network, from reference values / Neste trabalho, prop?e-se uma metodologia para defini??o dos valores m?ximos de pot?ncia ativa a serem injetados em barras pr?-definidas das redes de distribui??o estudadas, considerando a possibilidade de m?ltiplos acessos de unidades geradoras. A defini??o desses valores m?ximos se obt?m a partir de um estudo de otimiza??o, no qual as novas perdas n?o superam as do caso base, ou seja, sem a presen?a da gera??o distribu?da. The electricity rationing occurred in 2001 due to lack of rain, led the country to increase the participation of alternative energy sources. This need for new sources of energy makes the regional potential to be exploited, which configures the change of generation model from centralized generation to distributed generation. Among the alternative sources of energy, the solar energy is presented as very promising for Brazil, given that most of its territory is located near to the equator line, which implies days with greater number of hours of solar radiation. The state of Rio Grande do Norte (RN) has one of the highest levels of solar irradiation of the Brazilian territory, making it eligible to receive investments for the installation of photovoltaic solar plants.
