Kan Umeå Golfklubb drivas genom enbart elektriska anläggningsmaskiner? / Can Umea Golf Club be operated by using electric machinery only?

Umeå Golfklubb har som målsättning att vara en fossilfri golfanläggning till 2030. Det medföra stora förändringar gällande maskiner, investeringar och kostnader med denna ändring. Genom omvandling till fossilfritt hoppas Umeå Golfklubb kunna bli en bättre plats för anställda och golfare, samt minska risken för föroreningar i naturen på golfanläggningen, i hänsyn till globala målen. Syftet är att undersöka ifall det går att driva en golfanläggning med enbart elektriska maskiner och hur utveckling ser ut kommande år för dessa maskiner. Samt vilka krav som ställs på dessa maskiner för bibehållen bankvalité.  Rapporten undersöker prestandaskillnader mellan elektriska och dagens fossildrivna maskiner. Från hydraulik, bladmaterial och automatiserade robotar till batterikapacitet och solenergi. Rapporten tar upp ett specifikt företag inom varje kategori maskin och undersöker utvecklingen av de elektriska maskinerna idag samt kommande år hos dem. Undersöker hur automatiserade robotgräsklippare kan klippa fairway, semiruff och ruff, antal robotgräsklippare som behövs, klippschema för varje robot och ifall det finns ekonomiska fördelar. Rapporten tar även upp entreprenadmaskiner som är aktuella för klubben.  Resultatet visar att en stor del av klipparna går att byta ut till elektriska, detta med förbättrad bankvalité. Fairway, semiruff och ruff kan klippas med robotgräsklippare som kan justera klipphöjden automatiskt. Robotgräsklippare kan klippa stora delar av anläggningen under natten. Genom nattklippning, störs medlemmar och gäster mindre av banpersonal, samtidigt som banpersonalen riskerar i mindre utsträckning att träffas av golfbollar. De elektriska maskinerna kommer kunna drivas av anläggningens egenproducerade el via solceller. Hela anläggningen kommer därmed inte kunna drivas med egenproducerad el, om man tittar på hela året. Rapporten visar att byta till elektrisk maskinpark troligen kommer att bli en positiv investering, både för ekonomin och bankvalitén. De positiva delarna för ekonomin är lägre servicekostnader, mindre personal behövs, lägre driftkostnader samt möjligheten att sälja solenergi vid överproduktion.

<p>This thesis describes teh solution of two problems regarding safety on powered lawnmowers; protectning the users from injury when using the lawnmower in slopes, and when cleaning the cutting blade.</p><p>The task was carried out through initial studies on a representative lawnmower. A generation of ideas followed with an evaluation to select the best solution. The winning concept was further developed to reach acceptable performance. The word resulted in a functioning prototype utilising an original way of detecting inclinations without incorrect signals. It c an serve as a platform for further development into a product.</p><p>The work gives insightful experience of solving real-world problems, and especially to deal with situations where several variables and their effects are unknown</p><p>Please note that several parts of the work are confidential, and have therefore been removed from the thesis.</p>

Konceptstudie av gräsuppsamlare / Concept study of grass collector

This report describes the degree project by Oscar Gustavsson and Sulaymon Valizoda during the spring term 2018 at School of Engineering in Jönköping. The thesis has been carried out for Husqvarna AB in cooperation with Semcon AB as a final part of the authors’ education to engineers in Mechanical Engineering, Product development and Design. Within the company Husqvarna AB development and renewal are of great interest. In their development of grass collectors, this mission was assigned where the goal was to create new concepts and solutions to a grass collector belonging to one of Husqvarna AB's existing walk behind lawn mowers. The aim was to reduce the amount of spilled grass that lands on the ground and making it easier for the user to empty the collector after the grass has been collected. The work has been carried out as a concept study where a selected product development process has been implemented. The different phases and methods of the process from pilot studyto prototype are described to clarify how their approaches have been used. During the project a requirement specification was defined which specifically described what would be fulfilled and which could be followed as a basis in the development of concepts. To give this thesis a theoretical background, theories about the product development process, computer-aided design, vacuum forming, steel and welding joints has been applied.The study resulted in a final concept that were further developed and prototyped. The concept was considered by Husqvarna AB to be the best concept to proceed with.Testing and evaluation were performed on the prototype where the work was limited to. Further more, Husqvarna AB is able to continue the development and use the information from the work, which hopefully can be a helpin the development of a better grass collector.
