På fartyget M/S Calmare Nyckel finns en NOHAB-dieselmotor installerad ombord som används förundervisning på sjöfartshögskolan i Kalmar. Projektet har undersökt om det är möjligt att görauppstart av motorn säkrare för både handledare och elever. Arbetet har tagit fram ett nytt elskåp och styrsystem enligt DNV-Standard för att försäkra sig om att motorn inte går att starta utan att alla kringsystem som behövs är igång. I framtiden finns det även möjlighet att utveckla nya systemet om det skulle vara önskvärt. Arbetet har även konstaterat att det saknas ordentliga handlingar för elritningar och kabeluppmärkning ombord som bör åtgärdas i framtiden. / On the ship M/S Calmare Nyckel there is a NOHAB-Diesel Engine installed that are used foreducational uses on Kalmar Maritime Academy in Kalmar. This project has investigated if it’s possibleto make the startup of the engine safe both for teachers and students.The project has brought a new control cabinet and a new control system according to DNV-Standardto ensure that the engine doesn’t start without any auxiliary system that’s needed is running.In the future, there’s also possible to develop the system if that would be desirable.The project has also found that the lack of proper documents for electrical drawings and cablemarkings onboard should be addressed in the future.

There are instance based learning algorithms (IBL), nearest neighbor algorithms and kd-trees described theoretically in this thesis. Practical part is about making of tutorial application. Application can generate data, classified them with nearest neighbor algorithm and is able of IB1, IB2 and IB3 algorithm testing.

Diploma thesis is about narrowband PLC communication standards. The theoretical part describes details of all available OFDM standards including G3-PLC, PRIME, IEEE-1901.2 and G.hnem. The practical part deals with PRIME and G3-PLC standards. In this part is also compared OFDM technology with system of single carrier frequency in environment with real interferences. The last part describes developement of two firmwares for PLC modems Texas Instruments TMDSPLCKIT-V3, which allow UART communication and remote data collection. The thesis also includes Windows application developed to display and save collected data.

This master thesis discusses about designing and realization of a control system for a 6-axis robotic arm. The controlling system consist in a microcontroller LPC1756 with its firmware implemented under the Real-time operating system FreeRTOS and GUI application, running on a PC. The Microcontroller communicates with the PC through a serial line via SLIP protocol. Theoretically, it will deal with an explanation of the important terms, and describes the used robotic arm and its controlling unit. The practical part describes kinematics problems solving, firmware’s realization and GUI application.

The possibilities of Windows keyboard hooking and GUI making are mentioned. The description of segmentation of written text and writing level evaluation techniques are part of this thesis. Another part deals with the system implementation. The result application collects data about user's typing skills and evaluates the quality of typing and number of mistakes.

This thesis deals with modeling dynamics of printing machine, made by SOMA Engineering, in toolbox SimScape of simulation program Simulink/Matlab. There are descibed properties, progress, important principles and laws of modeling in this toolbox. The first part is focused on creating models, which consist as mechanical as eletrical and control parts. In the second part is explained how to create user interface to control models and creating standalone application, executable without installation of Matlab or Simulink. In last part is explained principle of identification parameters of material from the measured data, using an optimalization algorithm Nelder-Mead. Created models and identification algorithm are controlled via user interface.

This thesis deals with control of a specific climate chamber used for various climate tests. Therefore its elaboration starts with the identification of properties of this climate chamber and basic design of its control. This is followed by measuring the temperature distribution in its internal space in order to verify the usability of this climate chamber. The thesis also does not omit a description of the communication options between climate chamber and application for control of climate tests. The next part of this thesis concerns the design and implementation of the application for control of climate tests itself. On its output is a report of the performed climate test. In the end this thesis contains the description of program testing in the real operation of the company and other possible improvements of the implemented program.
