This master thesis deals with technologies for persistence of objects in Java. It briefly describes options of persistence of objects into files and further especially modern technologies for persistence of objects into database systems, particularly relational. It describes JDBC technology, framework Hibernate, application interface JDO, SQLJ technology, frameworks OJB and TopLink in detail and briefly the other tools. The emphasis is especially put on their usage, which is illustrated by amount of examples, their properties comparison and recommendation for the application building. The other part of thesis deals with life phases of information system development, where the differences of usage of JDBC and Hibernate, their mutual comparison from different points of view, importance of software architecture and design patterns for the application development in J2EE are presented.

This work makes a study on the Java Vutual Machine (JVM), approaching its intemal aspects and exploring the garbage collection strategies existing in the literature and used by the NM. It also presents a set of tools that helps in the job of optimizing applications and others that help in the monitoring of applications in the production envi?ronment. Doe to the great amount of technologies that aim to solve problems which are common to the application layer, it becomes difficult to choose the one with best time response and less memory usage. This work presents a brief introduction to each one of tbe possible technologies and realize comparative tests through a statistical analysis of the response time and garbage collection activity random variables. The obtained results supply engineers and managers with a subside to decide which technologies to use in large applications through the knowledge of how they behave in their environments and the amount of resources that they consume. Precis som de flesta företag så har True Software Scandinavia AB en produkt där ute i marknaden. Produkten är en mobil applikation som går under namnet Truecaller. För att kunna leverera den bästa upplevelsen till slut användarna så krävs en stor global telefonkatalog. Förutom att företaget har en statistik på hur det har gått och går för deras produkt så finns även behovet att veta hur det kommer att gå i framtiden. Alltså man vill veta hur stor potential det finns i marknaden och med avseende på detta försöka estimera när man når sitt uppsatta mål. Syftet med detta projekt har varit att skapa ett verktyg som kan samla in data och utföra nödvändiga behandlingar för att kunna estimera den framtida tillväxten. Verktyget skapas med hjälp av programmeringsspråket Java och kommer vara i form av ett skrivbords applikation. Eftersom ett sådant verktyg är stort och komplicerad, så kan det lösas genom att delas upp i mindre bestånds delar. Varje del utvecklas för sig själv och allt sätts ihop på slutet. För att hela verktyget ska kunna vara funktionellt och ge något resultat så måste varje delkomponent fungera korrekt. I resultatet kommer vi att verifiera att varje delkomponent utför sitt arbete felfri. Förutom resultatet så kommer dessutom vissa diskussioner kring generell barhet, kritik och förbättringar på arbetet att tas upp i denna rapport. / Like most companies, True Software Scandinavia AB has a product out in the market. The product is a mobile application, called Truecaller. In order to deliver the best experience to the end users, a large global phonebook is required. In addition that the company has statistics of how things have gone and are going for their product, there is also a need to know how it will go in the future. Thus they want to know how much potential there is in the market and with regard to this, attempt to estimate when they reach their goal. The purpose of this project is to create a tool that can collect data and perform the necessary process in order to estimate future growth. The tool is created using the Java programming language and will be in the form of a desktop application. As these kinds of tools are large and complex, it will be solved by subdividing it into smaller constituent parts. After each part is separately developed, all parts will be put together at the end. In order for the tool to be functional and give any result, each component must work correctly. In the results, we will verify that each component performs its work faultless. Apart from the result, even some discussions about general sustainability, criticisms and improvements on the work will be included in this report.

The focus of this diploma thesis is a development of advanced web application for. The purpose of the application is extended .docx files management including import, editing, storage and creating new documents. The development comprises analysis, setting the requirements for the application, analysis of the Java Enterprise Edition and Office Open XML standard for the .docx file format. The thesis further deals with design, implementation and testing the application.

Práce má za cíl navrhnout a implementovat plaftormu pro interaktivní webové aplikace (Rich Internet Application - RIA) na základě vhodných technologíí pro programovací jazyky Java a JavaScript. Důraz je kladen na výběr odpovídající sady softwarových knihoven, používání principů správného objektově-orientovaného návrhu a programování a možnost dlouhodobé údržby výsledné aplikace.

The purposes of this study were to design and develop the web service for fixed asset tracking and stock taking. Both theoretical and practical concepts were examined in order to apply them during significant part of service's life cycle covered in this thesis, from the very first analyses to the first production release. Primary goal of this study was to design the service and get it ready for the basic usage. Secondary goal was to document the process of designing and developing the service. Involved methods, practices and technologies were described. These goals were achieved using analytical methods and executive skills. In addition to development of web service itself, most important contributions of this thesis include supplying an in-depth study of web service design and development structured as a step-by-step tutorial.

The purpose of this master's thesis is to design and create system for company dealing with telephoning, which will simplify and automate the work of their employees as much as possible. System will meet the requirements on modern information system of telemarketing company and will be connected to telephone private branch exchange, from which it will be getting information about all phone calls including their voice records. The work is focused on usage of modern quality technologies and their integration into one system. First part of this work will closely describe requirements on this system and resulting creation of design. In the second part there will be presented used technologies and implementation of particular sections including configuration and connection with telephone private branch exchange. There will be also description of performance measurement process and resulting optimalization of critical sections in which high performance is required.

This thesis explores the topic of service level agreements management according to IT Infrastructure Library as a structured document. First of all ITIL in general is briefly described, analysis and a structure of SLA is then defined. This is a base for conceptual model definition. Later design and implementation of a web service and a client web application are presented. Both applications will be used as a tool in the course being held by our faculty.

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá API a ABI kompatibilitou Java knihoven. Jsou popsány typy kompatibility a analyzovány změny API, které vedou k zdrojové či binárni nekompatibilitě. Dále je provedena analýza existujících nástrojů, které provádějí zjišťování nekompatibility. Vhodný nástroj z předchozí analýzy je vybrán a rozšířen. Na základě rozšířeného nástroje je vytvořena serverová aplikace, která poskytuje informace o kompatibilitě sledovaných knihoven.

The goal of the master thesis project was to develop an application for tracking of actual events in the surrounding area of the users. This application should allow the users to view events, create new events and add comments to existing ones. Beyond the implementation of developed application, this project deals with an analysis of the presented problem. The analysis includes a comparison with existing solutions and search for available technologies and frameworks applicable for implementation. Another part inside this work is description of the theory in behind of data classification that is internally used for event and comment analysis. This work also includes a design of appliction including design of user interface, software architecture, database, communication protocol and data classifiers. The main part of this project, the implementation, is described aftewards. At the end of this work, there is a summary of the whole process and also there are given some ideas about enhancing the application in the future.
