Základy mobilního internetu / Mobile internet principles

Jehličková, Lenka January 2011 (has links)
Thesis concerns with mobile communications theory with focus on data transfer. In the introduction the history, the origin and individual mobile systems generations are described. It is followed by detailed description of second, third and fourth generation mobile systems. Frequency band allocation, signal processing, the system architecture itself, security management and basic features are also discussed. The GSM system is described together with individual data transmission types based on circuit switching – CSD and HSCSD and packet switching – GPRS and EDGE. For UMTS, FDD and TDD modes are listed as well as changes in individual releases, corresponding technologies and provided services. Next, there is the description of LTE and WiMAX systems, together with their improvements whose are part of the fourth generation of mobile systems. Last of the described systems is the still work in progress HAPS, also known as the system of stratospheric platforms. In the end important parameters are summarized and systems are compared with each other.

Real Time Positioning; Construction and implementation of a GPS-Communicator. / Realtidspositionering; Utveckling av en GPS-kommunikator.

Darnell, Christian, Wilczoch, Christian January 2002 (has links)
The first half of the Masters thesis is the result of a survey made on the behalf of the Swedish company KORDAB International AB. The survey includes an overview of different positioning systems and some wireless communication techniques available on the market today. Positioning systems discussed are GPS, DGPS, AGPS and GSM positioning. Mobile Internet connections through mobile phones and communication through radio modems are mentioned and described as examples of wireless communication techniques. Examples of techniques described are HSCSD, GPRS, UMTS and MOBITEX. KORDAB is in the starting blocks to implement a real time positioning feature into their own technical information system GEOSECMA. This survey will give them a base which will help them to decide on which system to use for this feature. The second half of the thesis includes parts concerning a prototype made to exemplify how KORDAB could implement the real time positioning feature into GEOSECMA. The NMEA 0183 protocol, reference systems and transformation are described to give the necessary background knowledge for the construction and functionality of the prototype. The prototype is a GPS-communicator made as an interface between a GPS-receiver and GEOSECMA and its functionality is also described in this second half of the thesis. Feasible applications are also discussed to show the possibilities real time positioning gives. One application discussed is “Zoom and Auto highlighting”. This application is designed to help user of GEOSECMA to zoom in the map and highlighting the nearest object at current location.

[en] SIMULATION AND PERFORMANCE OF INTEGRATED DATA AND SPEECH SERVICE IN CELULAR SISTEMS USING GSM/HSCSD / [pt] SIMULAÇÃO E DESEMPENHO DE SERVIÇO INTEGRADO DE VOZ E DADOS EM SISTEMAS CELULARES UTILIZANDO O PADRÃO GSM/HSCSD

TALLES ALEXANDRE CAMILO 16 May 2003 (has links)
[en] Due to the increasing use of cellular networks for data transmission, mobile telephone operators are facing a dramatic raise in using radio resources to supply their demand. As a result, they are being forced to migrate to new technologies that provide high spectral efficiency, allowing an optimized use of available spectrum. This work describes the development of an advanced tool to analyze the operator management of radio transmission for personal mobile systems. The model was built considering well-known propagation, mobility, voice and data traffic for transmission assumptions, in order to approximate the developed tool to the real world mobile systems. The simulation tool is suited for GSM/HSCSD networks allowing engineers to optimize the efficient use of the available spectrum. It also permits the evaluation of system capacity as well as the analysis of power control and handover strategies. Another application exploited in this work is the investigation of resource allocation algorithms. A new algorithm for resource allocation in integrated voice and data environments was proposed and its performance was evaluated using the simulation tool.

Mobiliųjų paslaugų portalų technologijų tyrimas / Research of mobile portals technologies

Najulis, Mindaugas 03 June 2005 (has links)
Information technologies and mobile telecommunications rapidly enter our personal and social life. Mobile phone is no longer luxury – it has become a necessity. Growing volumes of the mobile services has caused a need to expand the mobile service employment opportunities in the Internet portals. Today’s portals, created using the means, offered by software manufacturers, employ exclusively the mobile Internet service, thanks to which the users can see and manage the necessary information and process of the portal at any time and from anywhere. The problem is related with the fact that mobile Internet services are still expensive in Lithuania. Therefore one should look for cheaper ways to reach and manage portal information. In order to solve this problem one can consider the SMS and MMS message sending, suggested by mobile technologies. Basic aim of the work is to create an entertainment portal, rendering the user both various Internet entertainments (e.g. Internet acquaintances, games), and mobile entertainment (e.g. sending messages, logos, melodies, animations and games for mobile phone) as well as a wide range of mobile services to be used to obtain and to manage the portal information. In the work I describe: portal evolution, classification and creation measures („BroadVision Portal“, „IBM WebSphere Portal for Multiplatforms v5.x“, „Sun One Portal Server v6.0“, „Red Hat Enterprise Portal Server“, „Microsoft SharePoint® Portal Server 2003“, „ORACLE 9ias Portal“, „PHP:...
