<p>The aim of this essay is to see how the IOGT, local politicians and the local newspaper acted in the city of Hedemora in Sweden in connection with the referendum held in 1922 whether or not to ban the use of alcoholic beverages. To accomplish this I have examined protocols from local IOGT-groups, the town council and the local newspaper Södra Dalarnes tidning. I find that the local IOGT not only worked with the issue of alcohol but served as an institution that deepened democracy and education in the local community through discussions, study circles and applying pressure on local politicians. The locally elected bodies in turn were generally in favour of the good work the IOGT did, although not always overwhelmingly so. Many of the local politicians that handled the issues of alcohol were themselves active members in organisations promoting absolutism. The local newspaper tried to be balanced in reporting about the issue involved, but as a whole they gave a little more space to those voices that were against a complete ban on alcohol in the referendum.</p>

Fjärrvärmedriven absorptionskyla i Hedemora och Säter / District Heating Driven Absorption Cooling in Hedemora and SäterBoman, Johan January 2016 (has links)
Hedemora Energi produces and distributes district heating in Hedemora and Säter. It is during the summer in these cities, as in the rest of the country, a low heating demand. By offering its customers district heating driven absorption cooling, this could be a way to satisfy more requests while being able to sell more heat and better use the available capacity. In this thesis the cooling potential in Hedemora and Säter is calculated. Furthermore, the impact of integrated absorption chillers on district heating production, as well as absorption cooling profitability for Hedemora Energi is investigated. Simulations and calculations show that the system need to be adjusted for absorption cooling by increasing the supply temperatures during the hours that they are below the requirements of the absorption chillers. In addition, the adjustments cause raised return temperatures and altered flows in the network. This results in increased fuel costs and heat losses, reduced flow revenues and reduced heat supplies from flue gas condensers. Despite this, the economic results are positive for all cases. For example, over 44 thousand SEK in annual profit after integration of absorption chillers, producing 422 MWh of cooling in Skönvik, Säter.

An inquiring study of literature has been conducted, about the human colour perception (theimpression of colours). The colour has been examined, both as conscious and subconscious signal,and reasons for it’s influence have been exammed.The practical parts of the degree project have been carried out in active collaboration with thecustomer, The Association Hedemora Assistansservice (HASS), which offers handicapped persons astimulating spare time by personal assistance. A graphical profile-programme and an informationfolderhave been produced, easy received by both handicapped (with defective vision) and normallysighted persons. The graphical profile-programme was made in collaboration with the customer.Concerning the information-folder HASS took the main responsibility for the choice of photographswhile layout, text writing, colour-reproduction, original-production and connecting printing workswere made independently. The customer has shown engagement and interest and had a lot of opinionsabout the degree project, of which have been paid attention.

Background and Purpose: The energy crisis that evolved from Russia’s attack on Ukraine had an impact on Swedish energy companies. Therefor these energy companies Karlstad Energy and Hedemora Energy published texts containing the word “energy crisis”. This study’s purpose was to understand how energy companies work with web published texts visually and textually after a crisis. To do this, the study focuses on the multimodal analysis method on texts from Karlstad Energy and Hedemora Energy. Method: The study found usage of the semiotic visual analysis method and the content analysis method on the texts to answer the sought-out question that was created from the study’s purpose. These methods have different recommendations to help analyze material and which has been used to answer the study’s question. This was done to analyze the texts from Karlstad Energy and Hedemora Energy individually, then these analyses were put against each other to find differences and similarities. Results and Conclusion: The results that came from these analyzes were that the companies Karlstad energy and Hedemora energy work differently on the web. They have multiple visual differences like their usage of color, divisions of the text on the web, usage of pictures and textual differences such as their response possibilities and their CEOs participation to the text and usage of the word “we”. Then there were some similarities, such as the company’s usage of big texts, their order of themes of texts and their statement of facts. With this, the Conclusion is that these companies, Karlstad Energy and Hedemora Energy work differently visually and textually. / Bakgrund och syfte: Rysslands angrepp mot Ukraina har medfört en energikris som påverkat energiföretag. Energiföretagen Karlstad Energi och Hedemora Energi har publicerat texter på sina webbsidor som nämner ordet ”energikrisen”. Studiens syfte är att förstå hur energiföretag använder sig av webben för kommunikation under och efter en kris. För detta syfte genomförs en multimodal analys av Karlstad Energi och Hedemora Energis publicerade texter på webben. Metod: Den multimodala analysmetoden med specifikation av den semiotiska visuella analysmetoden och innehållsanalysmetoden användes för att besvara studiens frågeställning och konstruerades utifrån studiens syfte. Dessa metoder har flera rekommendationer som hjälper med analyserna och dessa användes för att få fram svaren till de visuella och textuella analyserna. Därmed analyserades texterna från webben individuellt och ställdes därefter emot varandra för att finna skillnader och likheter. Resultat och slutsats: Det resultat som framgick var att företagen Karlstad Energi och Hedemora Energi har olika arbetssätt även om de är inom samma bransch. De har flera visuella kontraster som färgval, uppdelning av text på webben, användning av bilder, och flera textuella skillnader som responsmöjlighet, VDs tillägg till texten, användningen av ordet ”vi” m.fl. Likheter fanns i användningen av fetstil, rangordningen av teman och framkodning av påståenden. Resultatet är slutsatsen att företagen jobbar helt olika både visuellt som textuellt, även om de är inom samma bransch.
