Navigácia Hierarchickým Navmeshom založená na analýze geometrie / Pathfinding within a Hierarchical Navmesh Based on Geometry Analysis

Chomut, Miroslav January 2014 (has links)
Title: Pathfinding within a Hierarchical Navmesh Based on Geometry Analysis Author: Miroslav Chomut Department / Institute: Department of Software and Computer Science Education Supervisor of the master thesis: Mgr. Tomáš Plch, Media and Communications Office Abstract: Pathfinding is a common problem in the computer science dealing with navigation from a starting point to a destination point. Common algorithms today are mostly based on A* search on a graph representation of navigated world. Another common approach is creation of navigation structure of convex navigation meshes and navigating on them. Our goal is to propose pathfinding algorithm on hierarchical navigation meshes, based on the terrain geometry, which benefits from complexity of hierarchical search yet provides paths comparable in length to reference ones. This thesis analyses and describes our proposed approach of navigation including generation of the navigation structure. Keywords: navmesh, pathfinding, A*, hierarchy, terrain analysis, geometry

The Vir Hierarchicus: St. Bonaventure's Theology of Grace

Wrisley Shelby, Katherine Joan January 2018 (has links)
Thesis advisor: Stephen F. Brown / The purpose of this dissertation is to provide a systematic account of St. Bonaventure of Bagnoregio’s doctrine of grace. More particularly, the dissertation argues that a systematic account of this kind can only be provided by attending to that doctrine through his theology of hierarchy, a methodology that derives from the Seraphic Doctor’s own claim in the Legenda Maior that St. Francis was a vir hierarchicus, or a “hierarchical man.” Throughout the course of his theological career, the Seraphic Doctor defines sanctifying grace as a created influentia that “hierarchizes” human beings by purifying, illuminating, and perfecting them from within, thus causing them to become a “similitude” of the Trinity. This dissertation explains what this means and why it matters. Methodologically, the dissertation proceeds in three parts. Part I, “Theological Foundations for Bonaventure’s Doctrine of Grace,” lays the necessary groundwork for the rest of the project in two ways: first, by introducing three historical figures whose work will provide indispensible theological contexts for approaching Bonaventure’s doctrine of grace, namely, Pseudo-Dionysius, Thomas Gallus, and Alexander of Hales; and second, by introducing the Seraphic Doctor’s own theology of hierarchy as he inherited it from these sources. Part II, “Bonaventure’s Doctrine of Grace,” then builds upon these foundations to present a systematic account of that doctrine as it developed in some of his most important works throughout his career as a theologian. Part III, “Theological Implications of Bonaventure’s Doctrine of Grace,” concludes the dissertation by exploring how that doctrine can inform scholarship on Bonaventure’s theological anthropology, Christology, and theology of sanctity, respectively. / Thesis (PhD) — Boston College, 2018. / Submitted to: Boston College. Post-Bureaucratic Organizations: Normative and Technical Dimensions

Attwood-Charles, William January 2018 (has links)
Thesis advisor: Juliet B. Schor / In this dissertation, I study dynamics of inequality in three post-bureaucratic organizations: a makerspace and two on-demand labor platforms for couriers. I focus on three aspects of post-bureaucracy: 1) Identity work and social clorure. 2) Dynamics of status and distinction making. 3) Technology as an alternative to rational-bureaucratic and value-rational organizations, and the experience of technologically organized work. Collectively, these cases explore how institutional orders are created, reproduced, and transformed in organizations that reject interpersonal authority relationships. As a social technology for coordinating activity, bureaucracies rely upon formalized rules, responsibilities, and impersonal authority relationships. In a completely rationalized bureaucracy, coordination is achieved through rigid adherence to codified roles and procedures, as well as deference to designated superiors within a bureaucratic hierarchy. Post-bureaucratic organizations, by contrast, eschew formalized interpersonal authority relationships - typically emphasizing normative and technical controls. For example, many high-tech organizations group workers into teams that negotiate and enforce norms. Material technology may also be used by organizations as a method to coordinate and manage workers, as in the case of on-demand labor platforms that direct workers via software technology. Like conventional bureaucracies, post-bureaucratic organizations are susceptible to a variety of pathologies. Two tendencies, however, are particularly salient: anomie and reification. Technical control involves reifying aspects of an institutional order that otherwise would be interactively negotiated and enforced. One risk in reifying an institutional order is that it will be incapable of responding to changes in the environment. In contrast to the problem of an institutional order that is too stable, anomie is a quality of normlessness and an ambiguous institutional order. Previous research suggests commitment forms of organizing are susceptible to anomic tendencies. In such weakly institutionalized environments where norms are open for negotiation, there can be considerable competition between individuals over how to define norms and practices. These individual status competitions may come at the expense of collective goals, in addition to being an avenue by which race, gender, and class inequalities are produced and reproduced. / Thesis (PhD) — Boston College, 2018. / Submitted to: Boston College. Leaderless Distributed Hierarchy Formation

Beal, Jacob 01 December 2002 (has links)
I present a system for robust leaderless organization of an amorphous network into hierarchical clusters. This system, which assumes that nodes are spatially embedded and can only talk to neighbors within a given radius, scales to networks of arbitrary size and converges rapidly. The amount of data stored at each node is logarithmic in the diameter of the network, and the hierarchical structure produces an addressing scheme such that there is an invertible relation between distance and address for any pair of nodes. The system adapts automatically to stopping failures, network partition, and reorganization.

Abstract Such key elements as the suggestion system organization culture , question formed inside the organization improve consciousness , incentive system, except basic conditions needed to possess while building and constructing the administrative system of knowledge of enterprises on the practice; Can also be regarded as and implemented staff's originality management and basic tactics of organizational innovation. And organize no matter promote information management , suggestion system or organizational innovation, can is it must reach like improve sufficient ' whole participation ' of terms , motion of activity to work smoothly; So, the key factor of influencing the activity that it is organized that ' staff participate in ' is important must be probed into. The centre of market survey of enterprise management of Harvard did the investigation to the vast professional manager, the suggestion system ranks the fourth place while managing tools in ten major crazes. December of the 87th year of the Republic of China, the suggestion system that motion association and centre halfback's centre of development carry on pursues the state result to show, 72.10% of the enterprises channel into this system at home, however, the investigation result shows, the company above 80% of domestic participating in rate of system staff of enterprise's motion (the number of people / staff's number of the motion ) is but only 12.30%, there are 77.10% of the companies that think it is that the system pursue the greatest problem on that " the staff participate in the will " in enterprises pursueing the suggestion system at home. In addition, probe into our country the large thesis for the Doctorate of the suggestion system according to the researcher, find that studies and overweights more suggestion system and knowledge to create and organize in study at home, probe into the suggestion system and there is very few and black research which the staff join. In addition, the suggestion system , knowledge create , information management and organizing study to all belong to the activity of the whole company, the staff's participation is very important; And can be implementing the basic tactics had in information management , intention management or organizational innovation in order to organize in suggestion system; So, this research purpose is two: First. Probe into understanding with interview which the factor of the suggestion system are to influence the staff to participate in organizing through documents? Then gather together the structure chart exactly setting up this research. Second. With the analytic approach of the level (analytic hierarchy process, AHP) as research approach, set up not influencing not organizing staff of suggestion system not to be participated in weight of factor of ways on through being systemic than, offer the reference that the industry or the organization promote the suggestion system . On the research approach , put in order and probe into literary composition surface and factor suitable for this research theme through documents first in this research, set up AHP and study the structure according to this, and then and then study the structure through AHP that expert's interview , enterprise view and emulate and participate in the motion system practice education and training among the workshops to revise and establish this research, then set up expert's questionnaire in accordance with AHP law, coaching advisor and lecturer and enterprise suggestion system pusher correlated with the system of the motion carry on questionnaire investigation, and then set up comparative matrix in pairs in accordance with AHP law after the questionnaire is retrieved , and use AHP ' Expert Choice 2000 ' to make policy and support the application software, screen the effective questionnaire, calculate a advisor group and assay its consistency with one group of weights of every level of AHP expert's questionnaire feedbacked of industry. Research shows: 1. Advisor groups of expert organize staff, suggestion system, participate in important the first five factors and weight views in order influencing Whether. Support and attitude of the high-order executive ( 19.7 % ) , examination system design ( 11.5 % ) , education and training (10.2), support of corporate culture (8.0% ) , Support and attitude of the department manager (7.1% ) . 2. Enterprise groups of expert organize staff, suggestion system, participate in important the first five factors and weight views in order influencing Whether. Support and attitude of the high-order executive ( 26.0 %), support of corporate culture ( 8.2 % ) , suggestion system rewards to design ( 8.1 % ) , Company performance system design ( 7.4 % ) and support and attitude that are in charge of in the department (7.4). 3. Support and attitude of the high-order executive , examination system design , support of corporate culture, Support and attitude of the department manager, are advisor group that is it organize staff , suggestion system , participate in being serious to influence to classify with enterprise groups of expert as together Want the factors of the most important items. Cincinnati Shuffle: Subhierarchies in the Stagnant Grid

Westermeyer, Amy 06 September 2012 (has links)
This thesis investigates the use of an operational formal architectural strategy to reinvigorate instances of failing city fabric. By introducing hierarchy and nodal destination elements into the urban grid, the existing field is transformed into a network of catalytic centers. Frame is employed as a permeable mediator between the existing grid and insertion, creating a permeable superblock that is both contextual and stimulating. The Over-the-Rhine district in Cincinnati, Ohio, is one of these failing city fabrics. Directly adjacent to downtown, this once vibrant neighborhood has experienced massive depopulation and deterioration. It’s population has dropped from 45,000 to less than 5,000. Currently, 66% of the buildings in the area are vacant or have been demolished. Over-The-Rhine lies between downtown and the University of Cincinnati. There is potential in creating a growth corridor between these two poles through Over-The-Rhine, stimulating the stagnant grid. A nodal infrastructural transit corridor is inserted between Downtown and the University of Cincinnati. Stops along the corridor act as point insertions in the fabric, forming nodal hierarchy. Incision activates the existing context through connection, deploying both a top down and bottom up approach. It creates a large centralized entity framed by and connected to context. It creates a range of scales, allowing for programmatic variety, an urban characteristic that the enclave lacks. It is strategic in working with the fabric, mediating flows and taking advantage of the porous grid condition. Each incision, in order to successfully attract from both downtown and the university, contains programmatic elements from each pole. This integration creates a complex interaction of program, as well as new partnerships between Downtown and University entities. It is a new approach for both Downtown and the University to address the failing fabric between.

A Study of Screening Mechanism of Steel Mill Equipment Supplier -A Case of Rolling Mill of China Steel Corporation

Lee, Kao-Yuan 03 August 2011 (has links)
Abstract Modernized steel plant belongs to high technique and capital-intensive industry. However, the independent ability of domestic industry in supplying steel plant equipment is so limited. Hence, almost all the equipment of steel plant are provided by foreign supplier. How to assure the big investment of project could be successful eventually, the selection of qualified equipment supplier becomes critical. The evaluation of equipment supplier is so difficult due to too many factors to be considered. Today, the evaluation by personal subjective thinking can¡¦t be applied to the assessment of both technique and non-quantifiable factors. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a wide, comprehensive and practical approach for the evaluation of equipment supplier. This research adopt AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) to construct multiattribute decision-making mode. Then, by using the decision-making process to evaluate the equipment supplier. So that such a decision-making behavior is more objective and integrity, and the sequence of priority of equipment supplier can be referred by decision making level. This decision making model is to be applied to the actual case-China Steel Corporation NGO (Non-Grain Oriented) electric steel project which is currently proceeded on. This research will evaluate and distinguish the priority of potential equipment supplier. The top three will be selected for final run of the bidding. Trust the above-mentioned method for selection of equipment supplier is quite in order. It not only helps to reduce the risk but it also increases both efficiencies and quality of decision making. Through study, we acknowledged that equipment technology management is the most important item. Per priority and weight in whole evaluation factors, the top five are selected. Finally, the top three equipment suppliers in NGO project are selected as well.
