A RUPTURA NO PLANO HISTORIOGRÁFICO PELO VIÉS DA METAFICÇÃO HISTORIOGRÁFICA EM MEMORIAL DO CONVENTO.

Ferreira, Cristiano Alves 27 September 2012 (has links)

The discourse is ordered in order to consider what was in Memorial do Convento as a means to record the speech itself or the ideological expression of the ruling power, in view of the periodicity of historical fact and measured the impact that such actions resonated with the Portuguese Crown. The establishment of the narrow limits of historical appearance, whose statement reflects more than a simple plot, overcomes the essence of the analysis, assuming a comprehensive study under the conditions of construction of historical discourse, be it on the triad of power in historiography, or the margin metafictional utterances in this constitution. So are characterizations of "beings" discourse tied the dynamics of a historical era, an exhibition of the history; beyond that differentiate these subtle concepts for fiction / reality. Mankind is not exempt from its historical constitution because their brands are indelibly recorded in the literary, as this is in itself a representation of customs, ideas and thoughts, also, the philosophical expression of an era. The theoretical discourse and the weights will give under the foundations of Mikhail Bakthin (2010), Terry Eagleton (2001), Jean-Maurice Lefebve (1980), André Trouche (2006), Maurice Halbwachs (2006), Peter Burke (1992), and Linda Hutcheon (1991). Thus, history is written, narrated, and recreated based on fact. This way, you can have the conviction that past data that have come to us because they are not the facts themselves but representations of events that occurred from the perspective of the statement of a "being" discursive. A discursividade e as ponderações teóricas dar-se-ão sob as bases de Mikhail Bakhtin (2010), Terry Eagleton (2001), Maurice-Jean Lefebve (1980), André Trouche (2006), Maurice Halbwachs (2006), Peter Burke (1992), e Linda Hutcheon (1991).

Authorship and strategies of representation in the fiction of A.S. Byatt

Limond, Kate Elizabeth January 2017 (has links)
This thesis examines the portrayal of authorship in Byatt’s novels with a particular focus on her use of character-authors as a site for the destabilisation of dominant literary and cultural paradigms. Byatt has been perceived as a liberal-humanist author, ambivalent to postmodern, post-structuralist and feminist literary theory. Whilst Byatt’s frame narratives are realist and align with liberal-humanist values, she employs many different genres in the embedded texts written by her character-authors, including fairy-tale, life-writing and historical drama. The diverse representational practices in the novels construct a metafictional commentary on realism, undermining its conventions and conservative politics. My analysis focuses on the relationship between the embedded texts and the frame narrative to demonstrate that Byatt’s strategies of representation enact a postmodern complicitous critique of literary conventions and grand narratives. Many of the female protagonists and minor characters are authors, in the broad sense of cultural production, and Byatt uses their engagement with representation of women in literature to pose questions about how cultural narratives naturalise patriarchal definitions of femininity. That Byatt’s female characters resist patriarchal power relations by undermining the cultural script of conventional femininity has been under-explored and consequently critics have overlooked significant instances of female agency. Whilst some branches of postmodern and feminism literary theory have conceptualised agency differently, this thesis emphasises their shared analysis of the discursive construction of subjectivity, as it illuminates Byatt’s disruption of literary conventions. My focus on the embedded texts and the discursive construction of authorship in Byatt’s fiction enables me to address the numerous paradoxes and inconsistencies in the novels as fertile sites that undermine Byatt’s presumed politics.

La chronique universelle de la création jusqu'à Constantin : un corpus occitan et catalan au XIVe siècle / The Chronique universelle de la création jusqu'à Constantin : an Occitan and Catalan corpus of the fourteenth century

Biu, Felip 10 December 2011 (has links)
The Chronique universelle de la Création jusqu’à Constantin, which has remained unpublished to this day in its complete Occitan version, probably appeared in Catalonia at the beginning of the fourteenth century, before being translated into Occitan and Italian. Copied on the borders of Languedoc and Provence, Manuscript D contains language that has been influenced by Catalan tinged with French. As for Manuscript G, which was copied in Bearn and has been well knownunder the name of Récits d’Histoire Sainte en Béarnais since it was published by Lespy and Raymond, in addition to preserving the only Bearnese literary text from this period, it is exceptional for the length of time that it was used, that is, up until the eighteenth century.
