O PCB e os livros: a Editorial Calvino no período da legalidade do partido nos anos 1940 (1943-1948) / PCB and the books: Editorial Calvino in party legality period in the 40s (1943-1948)

Juberte, Vinícius de Oliveira 20 September 2016 (has links)
The thesis addresses the diffusion of the Marxist literature in Brazil during the 1940s in the period of reorganisation and and legitimacy of the PCB (Communist Brazilian Party), which begins with the Second National Conference of the party in August 1943 (Mantiqueira Conference) and goes on until de repeal of the communist parliamentarians by the Dutra government in January 1948. It regards understanding this diffusion through the performance of the editor José Calvino Filho and the Editorial Calvino Limitada, connected to PCB. For that, the catalogues of the aforementioned publishing company and its advertising have been analysed, as well as articles by the editor printed in the newspapers of the time, and the books edited by him. Through this analysis it is intended to comprehend the role of the partys editions in its reorganisation and in the conformation of the Brazilian communist movement of the time, taking into account the works of Marxist features published by Calvino Filho in these years, their nature (doctrinaire, political, of party organisation, working literature, analysis over socialist Russia, memories, etc), the level of production of the publishing company through the number of publications, and the relationship between the type of published works and the political line adopted by the party in this moment.

Públicos leitores em formação: popularização das coleções de livros na Argentina (1901-1924) / Readerships in training: popularization of the collection of books in Argentina (1901-1924)

Oliveira, Rodrigo de La Torre 23 February 2010 (has links)
This research proposes a study of three collections of books edited in Argentina in the first decades of the twentieth century: Biblioteca de La Nación (1901-1920); the collection Lecturas Seletas (1921-1923) by Editorial Tor and Los Pensadores (1922-1924) by Cooperativa Editorial Claridad. In order to make a comparative analysis of the commercial, cultural and political purposes that guided the development of these publishing initiatives. The collections will be evaluated by the market strategies adopted, the possible audiences targeted by the editors and the repertoire of texts available to the readers of that time. The research is going to be based on the theoretical and methodological contributions that in recent decades have been setting in the Cultural History, the field of History of Book and Reading.

\'Em câmara lenta\', de Renato Tapajós: a história do livro, experiência histórica da repressão e narrativa literária / \'In slow motion\', from Renato Tapajós: the story of the book, historical experience of repression and literary narrative

Maués, Eloisa Aragão 15 December 2008 (has links)
It was the first book to analyze the leftist guerilla groups strategies and to denounce the brutality of the torture enforced by the military and the police against the activists of those groups. Tapajós had been a militant of Ala Vermelha, an urban Maoist guerilla group, and had been jailed from 1969 to 1974. Publicized all over the country, the book was furiously received by the conservative sectors of Brazilian society. In a surprising move, Tapajós was jailed in São Paulo in July of 1977 and stayed 10 days without any communication, under the accusation that Em Câmara Lenta was a \"tool of the revolutionary guerrilla\". Formally, the book was not forbidden and legally, there was no problem to publish and publicize it. Just after 15 days of Tapajós got the jail, the book was formally censured and it was made illegal to sell it. Taking in consideration the complex repercussions of this event, the initial aim of this dissertation is to demonstrate how the leftist guerrilla experience was transformed in a literary narrative. In order to do that, I present a study of this book history, the criminal procedures enforced against Renato Tapajós (using the documentation of the State Department of Political and Social Order, DOPS, the political police of São Paulo, produced during the police investigation) and in favor of him, as well as the testimonial narrative of the romance and its critical reception by the public and the specialists.

Création littéraire et bibliophilie (1830-1920) : de la mise en scène du bibliophile à la mise en livre d'une poétique / Literary creation and bibliophilia (1830-1920) : from the publicising of the bibliophile to the publishing of poetry

Malais, Nicolas 08 November 2011 (has links)
This work aims to help understand the importance of bibliophilia within literary creation between 1830 and 1920. From the publicising of the bibliophile to the publishing of poetry, to study bibliophilic literary practices is to shed light on both the writing process and the resulting production of books whose materiality is meaningful. A first part studies the beginnings of a bibliophilic literary practice and its figures, such as Charles Nodier or Bibliophile Jacob, to highlight the evolution of bibliophilia from a mere collection among others to an original writing process. Torn between social experience and lyricism of the object, bibliophilia progressively defines itself in response to its own caricature. A second part considers bibliophilia as a literary and mythical source: bringing real and imaginary libraries together, bibliophilia deeply changes the relationship to the materiality of books amongst writers such as Marcel Schwob, Remy de Gourmont or Alfred Jarry. A third part takes a closer look at the book as an object and at the conditions of its production and reception. From Mallarmé and Charles Cros' experiences to those of Apollinaire and Blaise Cendars, it appears that a new type of literature needs a new type of book, the combined result of (typo)graphic experimentation and bibliophilic tradition.

Knihtiskaři Jiří Jakubův Dačický a Jan Othmar Jakubův Dačický / The book printers Jiří Jakubův Dačický and Jan Othmar Jakubův Dačický

Večeřová, Petra January 2012 (has links)
The thesis "The book printers Jiří Jakubův Dačický and Jan Othmar Jakubův Dačický" deals with the lives and printing activities of the named book printers, who worked in the Old Town in Prague at the end of the 16th and the beginning of the 17th century. The thesis is based on the primary and secondary sources and preserved old prints from their production. Its aim is to clarify unknown parts of the history of the book printing in Prague and to discuss its unjustly neglected printing workshops. The text is divided into five main parts. The first one deals with the careers of the named printers and with the analysis of their private and professional lives. The second part interests in their printing production. The prints were divided into thematic groups and described according to literary-historical and library scientifical aspects. The studied prints were examined in their relationship to their previous and subsequent publications by other printers, too. The third part is the typological- typographical analysis. Here the autor focuses on typographical form of the prints, used typesetting, decorating, etc. The aim was not only to register used typographical material of the studied printers in time, but also to find out how much these (and possibly other contemporary) printing works cooperated,...

The thesis objective is a complex survey of the situation related to the modern history and current history education at grammar schools and specialized secondary/high schools in the Czech Republic. This thesis provides a thorough response to the following questions: Do the teachers at Czech secondary/high schools teach modern history until 1989 or not? Do they reflect the historical period after 1989 and where do they finish? What student's books are used by teachers? What student's books are used by students? What are the conditions for the student's book composition set by the Czech education policy. With an intent to reveal the responses to these questions, the diploma thesis analyses legislative framework of the Czech Republic education policy (Act No. 561/2004 Coll. about pre-school, elementary, secondary/high, college and other education, hereinafter referred to as 'School Act'), basic curricular documents (Framework Educational Program for Elementary Education, Framework Education Program for Grammar Schools, school education programs of particular grammar...
