Uma das formas escolhidas para aumentar a competitividade tem sido a implantação de sistemas da qualidade baseados na série IS09000. Apesar de proporcionar uma melhoria sensível na competitividade das indústrias brasileiras, a implantação de sistemas da qualidade baseados na série IS09000 vem sendo realizada sem a devida atenção aos custos da qualidade gerados e a melhoria contínua da qualidade, buscando num primeiro momento a diminuição do número de produtos não conformes e a própria certificação para fins de marketing. Portanto, uma análise de um sistema da qualidade poderá permitir a identificação de diversas melhorias, reduzindo o denominado custo da qualidade e incentivando a melhoria contínua. O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar um sistema da qualidade de uma unidade industrial de uma empresa do setor químico, identificando as operações, as informações e as decisões pertinentes a esse sistema e verificando sua eficácia e eficiência na atividade de asseguramento da qualidade do produto final, bem como as possíveis incoerências, incompletudes e redundâncias presentes. A unidade industrial em questão possui certificação IS09000 e é considerada um exemplo de sucesso na implantação deste sistema, reduzindo drasticamente a freqüência de ocorrência de produtos não-conformes. Para realização desta análise, foi utilizada uma ferramenta proposta pela sistêmica, denominada sistemografia. A sistemografia é uma ferramenta de modelagem de sistemas complexos que possibilita a inserção do conceito de complexidade na análise de sistemas industriais. Os resultados obtidos permitem concluir que o sistema da qualidade estudado possui diversos aspectos que podem ser desenvolvidos e melhorados, diminuindo sensivelmente o custo desta atividade e proporcionando um ambiente de melhoria contínua entre fornecedores e clientes / Abstract: The opening of the Brazilian market to the intemational competition is provoking, in the Brazilian companies, an intense search for the competitiveness. One way that has been used to increase the competitiveness is the introduce of quality systems based on the IS09000 series. In spite of providing a sensitive improvement in the competitiveness of the Brazilian industries, the introduce of quality systems based on the IS09000 series, comes being accomplished without the due attention to the increment of the costs, generated for the continuous improvement of the quality, looking for in a first moment, the decrease of the number of products no conform, and the own certification for marketing ends. Therefore, an analysis of the quality system can allow the identification of several improvements, reducing the called "cost ofthe quality" and motivating the continuous improvement. The objective ofthis work is to analyze a quality system of an industrial unit of a chemical company, identifying the operations, infomations and pertinent decisions to that system, and verifying its efficiencyand effectiveness in the activity of warranty of the quality of the final product, as well as the possible incoherence, absences and present redundancies. The industrial unit in subject possesses IS09000 certificate, and is considered a success example, reducing the frequency of products drastically no conform. For accomplishment of this analysis, will be used a proposed tool by the general system theory, denominated "systemography". The obtained results allow to conclude that the system of the studied quality possesses several aspects that can be developed and improved, decreasing sensibly the cost of this activity, and providing an atmosphere of continuous improvement between supplier and customers. Várias empresas engajam-se na busca de certificações emitidas por agências certificadoras como, por exemplo, a International Organization for Standardization (ISO), como uma forma de comprovar o seu comprometimento com o Desenvolvimento Sustentável. Entretanto, a Engenharia e Integração de Empresas, segundo seus componentes que a compõem, não oferece suporte explícito aos conceitos e requisitos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável. Neste sentido, este trabalho tem como objetivo geral realizar um estudo bibliográfico exploratório sobre a Engenharia e Integração de Empresas e seu suporte ao Desenvolvimento Sustentável. Para isso, analisa as principais propostas para a Engenharia e Integração de Empresas, em conjunto com os requisitos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável, buscando propor, quando plausíveis, diretrizes para a sistematização e incorporação do Desenvolvimento Sustentável à Engenharia e Integração de Empresas. Vi har sökt svaren till vilka faktorer som gör att organisationer tar till sig konceptet och implementerar det. Frågor har skapats utifrån ovanstående teori som sedan ställts till Sveriges samtliga tio ackrediterade certifieringsorgan som utför revisioner av standarden. Vi har även ställt frågor till SIS, Swedish Standard Institute som ansvarar för framtagandet av standarder i Sverige. Efter att ha applicerat och analyserat den empiri som vi erhållit genom intervjuer och litteraturstudier har vi funnit att ISO 9000 serien till stora delar stämmer överens med vald teori. De faktorer som vi funnit ligga bakom ISO 9000 seriens omfattande spridning är att standarden kan användas av alla, små som stora organisationer inom olika branscher. Framgångsrika företag blir ofta förebilder för andra vilket bidrar till ökad spridning. Vidare anses standarden vara modern och ”ligger i tiden”. Den uppdateras för att anpassa sig till den föränderliga omvärlden. Standarden framstår som något fördelaktigt för alla i en organisation. Quality capability self-diagnosis : a multicriteria evaluation approach

Quality Capability Self-diagnosis is a convenient and economical way to assess the performance of an operating quality system, as well as a basis for initiating necessary corrective actions essential to quality improvement and preparation for certification. This paper describes the research leading to the development of a cost-effective and systematic methodology for performing quality capability self-diagnosis. ISO 9000 series standards and the methods used to implement multicriteria system evaluation are employed to provide a sound basis for the development of this quality capability self-diagnosis scheme (QCSDS). The QCSDS has been developed to assist manufacturers in the conduct of quality assurance audits using internal personnel. The methodological structure of QCSDS is presented in two major parts: a regular model and a refined model. The regular model includes: (1) development of quality system auditing criteria, (2) selection of a suitable checklist developed from ISO 9000 series requirements, (3) development of importance weights for applicable criteria, (4) performance measurement, (5) quality system rating, (6) analysis of quality auditing results, and (7) suggestions for improvement. The refined model is developed to strengthen capability of the model and its reliability for confirming the effectiveness of an operating quality system using quality cost analysis, utility theory and regression analysis. A decision support system (QCSDDSS) based on the Quattro Pro spreadsheet is incorporated to facilitate the application of QCSDS. The QCSDDSS development is based on the regular model using ISO 9002 to provide both tabular and graphical displays for performance demonstration and improvement analysis. / Graduation date: 1994

The management of quality is a consideration in all industries. The ISO 9000 standard defines a management system framework which includes the necessary and sufficient elements for the systematic management of quality. Some organizations experience positive results from implementing an ISO 9000 based quality management system while others do not. Given its widespread use and the economic implications of ineffective implementation, this study analyzes the implementation process steps, the performance of system elements after certification and organization performance metrics. The methodology combines publicly available financial data and survey results to characterize the determinants of success for ISO 9000 quality management system implementation.

ISO 9000 Quality Management Standards Series aims to improve the products and services regarding customer satisfaction. The main purpose is to increase quality. On the other hand, having a special importance to mining, OHSAS 18000 Occupational Health and Safety Assessment System Series aims to provide safer, more tranquil and more healthy working environment to the labors. Both of these management systems are continuously improved and increase their importance in the world. This study evaluates ISO 9000 and OHSAS 18000 series in a comparative and criticizing scope and complementariness of the standards to each other is examined. Existing conditions in our country are determined in mining perspective and some comments are given to improve existing condition. Literatural information is given about both of the series in the study and these information is supported by some case studies. Case studies covers not only, a leading company in Turkey namely MANGAN Marble &amp / Granite Inc. but also some other companies and establishments. Studies show that there are some problems observed in the implementation of both series. The main problem is commitment of the top management. Other problems are documentation and training of the personnel. These problems are more serious in small scale mining companies and quarries. Although existance of these problems is highly possible in the mining companies applying ISO 9000 and OHSAS 18000 series are very beneficial regarding the increase in the quality of products and therefore it&amp / #65533 / s advantages and in providing a healthy and safe working environment and become a necessity.

Impact of the Implementation of QS-9000 on Customer Satisfaction in Taiwan¡¦s Auto-parts Manufacturing Industry

Taiwan¡¦s auto industry began with Taiwan Yulon Motor Company in 1957, as well as with the development of the related auto parts and components industry. After more than four decades, most companies have developed flexible production skills that allow them to produce a comprehensive assortment of auto parts and components in small quantities that meet international quality standards. The new wave of electronics manufacturing companies have devoted a large percentage of their resources to automotive products, either at their home base, or at their manufacturing facilities abroad. The QS-9000 Quality management system is a fundamental requirement for automotive parts suppliers. The main purpose of this thesis is to research the relationship between the implementation of QS-9000 and customer satisfaction. This study is focused on this inter-action from three perspectives: formulation, implementation and customer satisfaction. Key success factors such as; steering team, organization, target, criteria, documentation, training, standardization and auditing have been defined and studied for their effects on the QS-9000 management system implementation. Developing and implementation quality system utilizing the criteria given in the ISO 9000 or QS-9000 quality system standard can achieve satisfying customer requirements. The successful implementation of a quality management system can contribute to the overall business efficiency of an organization, such as administration, accounting, engineering, marketing, maintenance and after-sales service. The company shall develop the internal and external customer satisfaction indices to check the customer expectation on their service and product. Quality cost are the costs of putting thing right. The monitor for cost of quality can reduce the non-productivity hours and material scrap then achieves the continual improvement management philosophy. In addition, the surveyed case firms disclosed that the QS-9000 standards indeed helped their organization to upgrade the efficiency and service quality of their operation and as such enhance their company¡¦s image as well as customer satisfaction.

The Impact of ISO 9000 on TQM and Business Performance

In the field of the Total Qualitative Management, like ISO 9000 that enterprises implement. Total Qualitative Management become a model of company, strive for the Total Qualitative Management and reward it as the goal of every company. Recent years, many empirical research results of implementing TQM and their effects on performance have different view points. Some scholars believe that TQM activities indeed have positive impact on firm¡¦s quality and productivity, and reduce production time and then create competitive priorities. The objective of this study is to find out the relationship between TQM practices and business performance, and hope the result of this study could provide some suggestions for the managers.This study sampled 130 the small and medium enterprises manufactures in Taiwan with which had registered ISO 9000 . A total of 130 manufacturing corporations were each sent the questionnaire. There are 129 returned questionnaires, response rate is 99%. The conceptual framework of this study is based on the research model of S.Bruce Han¡BShaw K. Chen¡BMaling Ebrahimpour(2007), that the dimensions of ISO 9000, TQM and Business Performance and significantly correlated.This research adopts the ISO 9000 efforts, TQM practices, competitiveness , and customer satisfaction as business performance of measure perspectives. Using multiple regression analysis, this paper finds that ISO 9000 efforts and TQM practices hasn¡¦t the positive influence to the business performance. Besides, this research finds that the competitiveness and customer satisfaction had positive influences on the business performance. In other words, the firms with high TQM implementation will put more emphasis on competitiveness and customer satisfaction have better business performance.
