Análise das dificuldades na disciplina de bioquímica diagnosticadas por um plantão de dúvidas on line / Students difficulties in biochemistry discipline analyzed through an on line academic drop-in center

Fernando Schoenmaker 11 September 2009 (has links)
The biochemistry discipline integrates the curriculum of all graduation courses on the Biological Area and is a basis for other disciplines. The students difficulties in this discipline are already widely recognized. To investigate these difficulties, we created a drop-in on line service that had three purposes: (i) to give support to students learning by answering their questions and solving their problems whenever they appear, (ii) to analyze the questions presented, as a strategy to diagnose the most prevalent difficulties and (3) to carry through a classification of the cognitive level of the received doubts. After the period of attendance of this service on line, 416 questions were received and answered. There were many conceptual questions being the majority related to problems and exercises. The most frequent questions dealt with cell metabolism (42.5%), mainly lipid metabolism and aerobic metabolism; basic concepts (14.2%) such as about amino acids and buffer, protein structure (8.7%) and enzymes (7.0%). These percentages are correlated to the number of hours dedicated to each subjects in the disciplines. The main difficulty founded was the integration of metabolic processes. Related to the cognitive level, 61% of the doubts had been of low level, 28% had been of average level and 11% had been of high level. A more in-deep analysis will be necessary to investigate the causes of the pointed difficulties.

Genetická genealogie a komunity vzniklé okolo ní / Genetic genealogy and communities formed around it

Pokorná Ročňáková, Lucie January 2018 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to introduce genetic genealogy (the genealogical DNA test analyzes samples of genetic material for genealogy purposes, mostly does not serve as a tool for health diagnostics, or it does not detect genetic predisposition or disorder) and to analyze the online communities around it. The thesis answers the question of the extent to which these groups differ from groups of supporters of the traditional approach (whose main focus lies mainly in archival research). On the example of several specific communities, the author tries to show what aspects are dominant in this new kind of online activities and critically evaluate them.

Rizika internetového hlasování z hlediska volebního práva / Riscs of remote internet voting from the perspective of voting rights

Chmelíková, Tereza January 2017 (has links)
Remote internet voting is a phenomenon of modern democratic societies. This topic has slowly become an important and frequent subject of political research. Thus, the aim of the thesis was to analyse this inovative, but yet controversial, method of voting from the standpoint of voting rights. The first of the thesis is concern on the general theory of elections and legal concept of voting rights to understand the meaning of elements of voting rights. The second part of the thesis comprises three case studies on countries which have already organised the remote internet voting in some types of elections: Estonia, Switzerland and the Netherlands. These chapters have proved several issues and variables between particular e-voting systems, such as the possibility of casting e-votes repeatedly, who is allowed to use internet voting or where votes can be cast on-line. The main goal of the thesis was to provide a clear set of potentional barriers of remote internet voting for an accomplishment of democratic suffrage in cases of these three countries and evaluate the possibilities of the idea of remote internet voting used in the electoral system of the Czech Republic. Thus, the third part of the thesis was focused on the case of the Czech republic and main principles of vote suffrage. The author...

Rekognice / Recognition

Mufová, Alžběta January 2020 (has links)
The following thesis explores the obtaining of evidence during criminal proceedings via a line-up technique which is listed in section 104b, Act No. 141/1961, Criminal Procedure Code. The chosen topic is reviewed in its complexity from several different angles including theoretical aspects and my own personal experience. The thesis concentrates on a line-up of subjects in natura, problems associated with the procedure and offers possible solutions on how to face the given problems. In the first chapter the thesis provides general definition of a line-up and its variations and remaining subchapters to the possibility of its urgency and unrepeatability as well as to the question whether an object must participate. Next it follows the historical development of line-ups, offers views both current and historical on the practice as a method of criminal evidence gathering and explores the fact that it has only recently become part of the Criminal Procedure Code. This is opposed to being considered, as was the case for a long time, as a specific kind of interrogation, a view that can still be found among some theorists up to this day. In the next two chapters, a line-up is compared to other methods of criminal evidence that are part of the Criminal Procedure Code and the thesis also takes a closer look at...

Linjeutvidningens värde : Konsumenternas utvärdering av linjeutvidgade produkter och dess relation till prissättningen

Perez, Faviana, Krasniqi, Ilirian January 2009 (has links)
A common assumption in marketing is the wider variety of product a corporation has, the better for the consumer: more product - more choices. Companies often develop a line extension to broaden consumer range through product attributes including quality, function and design. These developed attributes within the product are not always optimal for the consumer. As a result, companies often become entangled in having a price higher than the cost and benefit of the products. This essay aims to analyze the consumer value of line extension products and how these evaluations relate to extended line product pricing. A quantitative approach has been used, while data has been collected through structured questions with multiple-choice answers. Various theories concerning the products of different levels, consumer attitudes and pricing of line extension products have been assessed for this essay. The data used for survey purposes is from three different surveys in three different grocery stores. The results reveal a connection between the customer evaluation and pricing, although not as strong as initially thought. The price of organic coffee and whole meal pasta, in relation to its respective core, was relatively the same. Also, the customer evaluation of these products was equally related (See Figure 21). Generally a corporation prices products according to specific attributes. Lactose-free milk was an exception by being priced 157% higher than the other line extension products. This variation in price happens without correlation to consumers’ evaluation.

Tre exempel på mentala tallinjer

Rickdorff Lahrin, Nils January 2018 (has links)
Starting from the Swedish curriculum’s goals of a school for all children this study’smain purpose is to contribute to the understanding of how mental number-lines arebeing described and related to by people with visualized number-forms. The study aimsto answer the two questions:- How are the mental number-lines described by people with visualized numberformsand in what way do these descriptions differ from a conventional numberline?- What relations can be found between the visualized number-line and the choiceof counting-strategies on number-tasks?The study used a qualitative method in which three participants with visual mentalnumber-lines described their preferred counting-strategies and relation to their mentalnumber-lines in three semi-structured interviews. The data was then analyzed byconnecting counting-strategies to the described mental number-lines and by comparingthe described mental number-lines to conventional, linear, number-lines. Two of theparticipants in the study displayed a distinct connection between counting-strategies andnumber-line-visualization. This was shown by the way they adapted their countingstrategiesto fit their personal visualization of the mental number-line. The resulthighlights the importance of understanding how students visualize their number-lines.For further studies this study suggests further investigations regarding how mentalnumber-line-visualizations hinders students from achieving important steps in theirunderstanding of mathematics.

Improving Nurses' Knowledge of Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infection

Cooper, Misty 01 January 2019 (has links)
Central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) are usually attributable to suboptimal line insertion, care, or maintenance and are associated with poor patient outcomes. Nursing plays a pivotal role in preventing CLABSI, because nurses are generally responsible for the routine care and maintenance of central lines. The purpose of this project was to determine if CLABSI nursing education and demonstration-based competency could improve nurses' knowledge on a neurology unit as compared to current practice of an annual e-learning module as the sole source of nurse education. This project was informed by Lewin's planned change theory and involved changing behaviors, attitudes, and practices of nurses via a conducive approach consisting of three phases: unfreezing, movement, and refreezing. To have a foundation in evidence, expert literature supports the project. Participating nurses attended an educational session consisting of a presentation and demonstration-based competency of central line dressing change technique. A pre- and post-test were administered; the mean pretest score was 72.1% and the mean posttest score was 94.1%. Comparison of pre- and post-test scores reflect a 22% increase in test scores, therefore, this program increased knowledge. This project can contribute to positive social change by improving nursing practice through increasing nurses' knowledge of proper care and maintenance of central lines, which can translate into evidence-based practice changes and improve patient outcomes.
