Os estudos realizados por Halbwachs (1990), Nora (1993) e Le Goff (2003) demonstram que é papel social dos museus, bibliotecas e outras instituições memória, preservar e manter a memória da humanidade. Em Igarassu-PE, mesmo contando com cinco instituições responsáveis pela preservação memorial da cidade, o Arquivo José de Souza Leite Neto, a Biblioteca Pública Municipal Hercília Bezerra Bandeira de Melo, Casa do Patrimônio do Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN), o Museu Histórico de Igarassu e o Museu Pinacoteca do Convento de Santo Antônio, grande parte da sua população não conhece seu passado, suas lembranças parecem perdidas no esquecimento, sendo evidenciadas apenas nas datas festivas, como o aniversário da cidade. Por isso, a partir de um estudo descritivo-qualitativo, oriundo da análise de conteúdo de relatórios e documentos de cada instituição acima citada, este trabalho analisou a contribuição destes espaços na preservação da memória, bem como na construção da identidade cultural no município de Igarassu – PE, chegando as seguintes considerações: as instituições-memória preservam a memória da cidade, no entanto pouco contribuem para a construção da identidade cultural do Igarassuense, tendo em vista as práticas custodialistas presentes em alguns espaços, a falta de estrutura, a ausência de mão de obra qualificada, a escassez de recursos financeiros, além da inexistência de políticas públicas municipais que vislumbrem esses lugares de memória. Vale ressaltar que a presente investigação não pretendeu esgotar o debate sobre a questão, acreditando na possibilidade de estudos sobre a criação de uma Rede Memorial entre as instituições-memória de Igarassu, como alternativa eficiente de disseminação da informação, contribuindo de forma eficaz para a construção da identidade cultural do seu povo. / Information Science studies related to memory, especially around preservation, have led to dialogues about the social mechanisms, producers of collective memory, as well as the problematic of places of memory. Studies by Halbwachs (1990), Nora (1993) and Le Goff (2003) demonstrate that it is the social role of museums, libraries and other institutions memory, preserve and maintain the memory of humanity. In Igarassu-PE, even with five institutions responsible for the memorial preservation of the city, the José de Souza Leite Neto Archive, the Municipal Public Library Hercília Bezerra Bandeira de Melo, Heritage House of the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN) The Historical Museum of Igarassu and the art gallery of the Convent of Santo Antônio, a great part of its population does not know its past, its memories seem lost in the forgetfulness, being evidenced only in the festive dates, like the anniversary of the city. Therefore, based on a descriptive-qualitative study, from the content analysis of reports and documents of each institution mentioned above, this study analyzed the contribution of these spaces in the preservation of memory, as well as in the construction of cultural identity in the municipality of Igarassu - PE, arriving at the following considerations: memory institutions preserve the memory of the city, but little contribute to the construction of the cultural identity of Igarassuense, in view of the custodial practices present in some spaces, the lack of structure, the absence of skilled labor, shortage of financial resources, and the absence of municipal public policies that glimpse these places of memory. It is worth mentioning that the present investigation did not intend to exhaust the debate on the subject, believing in the possibility of studies on the creation of a Memorial Network between the Igarassu memory institutions, as an efficient alternative of information dissemination, contributing in an effective way to the construction of the cultural identity of its people.

This is the unveiling of the narratives and the stories remembered and resignified by the educator about her performance in the context of memory-institutions of Paraíba. To this end, we investigated her career paths from 1942, a period starting with the beginning of her studies in the city of Bananeiras (PB), through 2013, in which she was working as Director of Afonso Pereira Archive, founded by herself in 1998, in the city of João Pessoa (PB). Categorized in the field of theoretical and methodological approach of the New Cultural History and guided by the premises of Oral History, this study aimed to unveil, through thematic interviews, the reminiscences of Clemilde Torres about her family origins, her education and her early works as an archivist. Here we described the engagement of the educator as archivist in the spaces in which she worked and the consolidation of her professional career in the memory-institutions of Paraiba, especially Afonso Pereira da Silva Archive. The study revealed that the educator performed a contributive educative action to society and to education, as she produced and made available information through documents of different ages. Finally, we highlighted her contribution as a writer of historical narratives that facilitate the reconstruction of the past, shedding light to the educational practice of Clemilde Pereira in memory preservation spaces. / Este estudo investigou a trajetória profissional e as contribuições da educadora, arquivista e escritora Clemilde Torres Pereira da Silva às instituições-memória da Paraíba. Trata-se do desvelamento das narrativas, das histórias lembradas e ressignificadas pela educadora sobre sua atuação no âmbito das instituições-memória da Paraíba. Para tanto, foram investigados seus percursos profissionais construídos entre 1942, período que compreende o início de sua formação profissional realizada na cidade de Bananeiras (PB), até o ano de 2013, período em que permanecia atuando como diretora do Arquivo Afonso Pereira, fundado pela educadora em 1998, na cidade de João Pessoa (PB). Inscrito no campo da abordagem teórico-metodológica da Nova História Cultural e guiado pelas premissas da História Oral, este trabalho, buscou desvelar, por meio de entrevistas temáticas, as reminiscências de Clemilde Pereira sobre sua origem familiar, sua formação inicial e seus primeiros trabalhos da atuação como arquivista. Nele, foi descrito o engajamento da educadora como arquivista nos espaços em que atuou e a consolidação da trajetória profissional nas instituições-memória da Paraíba, sobretudo no Arquivo Afonso Pereira da Silva. O estudo revelou que a educadora desempenhou uma ação educativa contributiva à sociedade e à educação ao desempenhar um trabalho de produção e de disponibilização da informação através de documentos épocas distintas. Por fim, foram evidenciadas suas contribuições como escritora de narrativas históricas que favorecem a reconstrução do passado, ensejando luz à prática educativa de Clemilde Pereira nos espaços de preservação da memória.
