Since any education institution is judged in terms of what it contributes to its students and to the welfare of society, it is almost certain that a follow-up study of the students will provide information that could aid in evaluating and improving the school's guidance and instructional programs; identifying needs and problems of graduates for future service by the school; and bringing the school and community closer together by promoting common understanding.
Follow-up studies are considered one of the most reliable methods of determining the effectiveness of educational programs. It is believed that this follow-up study can provide the Cache School District with information that will aid them in evaluating their high school curriculum in terms of strengthening the future high school programs, and thereby meeting the needs of the students and the community.

The Kew Asylum has been a dominant feature of Melbourne’s built environment for over 100 years. In addition to the visual impact it has made on Melbourne’s skyline it has been very much a part of the psychological landscape of the collective imagination of the city’s inhabitants. Despite this, comparatively little has been written about its impact on society, and almost nothing has been recorded in any comprehensive sense, about its occupants or inmates. This dissertation aims to go some way towards redressing this, not with a broad sweep institutional biography, but with an intimate portrait of the asylum’s earliest days. Covering a time frame of less than 50 years, this thesis adopts a multi-theoretical approach in order to illuminate the different facets of asylum life with the maximum clarity. The thesis contains several themes, some of which overlap and interweave in order to examine the complexity of institutional life.

<p>Uppsatsens syfte är att genom att studera logopedernas införande av WHO: s klassificering av hälsa besvara frågan om förändringen är ett sätt att möta det institutionella tryck som kan finnas på logopedernas organisation. En kvalitativ ansats har använts för att samla in och analysera den data från de fem logopederna samt chefslogopeden från logopedmottagningen på Ryhovssjukhus som intervjuades.</p><p>Institutionell teori har använts för att analysera intervjumaterialet. Resultatet avundersökningen är att logopederna förändrar sig för att upplevas som mer legitima av som sin omgivning på två sätt. Genom att införa standarder som medför, en upplevde, högrejämförbarhet och man gör verksamheten mer mätbar. Även det att genomföra förändring är ett sätt att bli mer legitim och möta de förväntningar som finns i den miljö som logopederna existerar i.</p>

Syftet med studien är att belysa några behandlares uppfattningar om faktorer som motverkar negativ ungdomskultur på institutioner för ungdomar med sociala problem. Studien lyfter fram upplevelser samt erfarenheter därmed användes ett kvalitativt närmandesätt, med hermeneutisk utgångspunkt. Fem semistrukturerade intervjuer tillämpades vid insamlingen av mjukdata. Med hjälp av latent innehållsanalys analyserades materialet för bättre överblick. Resultatet belyser faktorer som bidrar till att det blir negativt bland ungdomar på institutioner. Dessa faktorer kan exempelvis vara att ungdomarna inte känner av personalens närvaro, blir sedda samt hörda. Resultatet lyfter även fram att ungdomarna Influeras av varandra och är lojala mot varandra för att ungdomarna upplever att de har samma historik eller gemensamma drag samt att ungdomarna upplever att personal är på institutionen för att enbart tjäna pengar. Omotiverade ungdomar ska inte sättas inom samma grupp för då blir rehabiliteringsarbetet lidande konstateras i resultatet. Respondenterna upplever att oenighet bland personal angående rutiner och regler bidrar till negativ ungdomskultur. Delaktiga ungdomar som får stöd, som motiveras och förstärks av behandlare samt får återanknytning till sociala sammanhang i form av föreningsliv kan bidra till att främja en positiv ungdomskultur.

Undersökningen rör funktionsledarnas nya roll på Länsstyrelsen i Kronobergslän. Den nya rollen är ett utökat chefskap som är en del av en omorganisering. Syftet med studien är att ta reda på hur det utökade chefskapet hos funktionsledarna påverkar deras, roll och arbetsgemenskap samt vilka effekter ett ledarskap längre ner i organisationen medför. Teorier kring roll, ledarskap, organisation och institution har används. Metoden som använts är främst intervjuer. Resultatet visar på rollproblem som rolloklarhet, rollöverlastning och rollkonflikt men även på problem med mellanchefsrollen. Det gick inte att påvisa några större förändringar i arbetsgemenskapen som berodde på den nya rollen. Omorganiseringen har uppfyllt sitt syfte med att få ner ledarskapet i organisationen och med ge medarbetarna en större tillgång till sin chef, enligt de flesta intervjuade. Family, beyond Family, and Institution: Case Study of Social Entrepreneurship in Taiwan and GermanyHuang, Chang-Yu 25 December 2012 (has links)
Based on the insight from Fukuyama¡¦s notion of trust, the main philosophy of the study is: How is it possible for societies characterized by traditional paradox of familism to move beyond the limited radius of trust (in-group collectivism) and reach to the wider and greater social trust (institutional collectivism)?
With family as a starting point, the study is based on three theoretical traditions: social capital theory, third sector research and social entrepreneurship studies. Drawing on two case studies in the specific area of social care services in Taiwan and Germany, research questions are addressed as: How does family-driven social entrepreneurship have emerged and developed in two different societies? If any, what is the main difference between the developments of two cases? And how this difference can be explained through social capital theory?
Following social emergence paradigm, three foci of analysis, namely social context, collective actors, and emergence process are discussed. Furthermore, three analytical tools for family-driven social entrepreneurship are developed, that is, four-sector-division framework (based on the concept of welfare mix), entrepreneurial system (based on Bruyat and Julien), and domestic versus civic orders of worth (based on Boltanski and Thevenot).
The findings suggest that with family as a starting point, social entrepreneurship is grounded, emerges and evolves in the distinctive social contexts. For the case of Taiwan, with the role of self-help group, family-driven social entreprenurship might provide the potential for social transformation from family tie to beyond family, creating a new organization in the third sector.
In contrast, for the case of Germany, social entrepreneurship development presents as from family-driven social entrepreneurship to community development. With multi-level associations and the functional coordination among the public administrations, third sector organizations and families as well as the surrounding communities, family-driven social entrepreneurship may reach at the institutional level. By integrating to and coordinating in the coherent interaction between formal institutions and informal cultures, the development of the German case can be related to institutional collectivism.
Based on the implications, a contextual Framework for family-driven social entrepreneurship is proposed, namely Family, beyond family, and institution: Developing family-driven social entrepreneurship in Context.
From my perspective, social entrepreneurship not only aims to make the isolates re-integrate into society, but also, with macro vision, to make institutions change for society. The direction of institutional change, echoing Fukuyama, is toward the development of an inclusive and vital society through social capital and trust, that is, not only cultivating personal and particularistic trust but also enriching generalized and institutionalized trust in society. With those aims, social entrepreneurship is context-sensitive. Both ends and means of social entrepreneurship are embedded in social context.
As a concluding thought, I stress that social entrepreneurship is contextual. With family as a starting point, social entrepreneurship is grounded, emerges, and evolves in distinctive contexts in different societies. Furthermore, in line with Fukuyama, but going further, it is possible for the societies traditionally characterized by the paradox of familism to move toward more inclusive and higher trust through social entrepreneurship. In its essence, social entrepreneurship reveals the ethic of economic life in modern society, that is, not only to accumulate material wealth, but rather to enrich trust for the wider-society as wide a society as possible.
