Arbetsminnesträning i grundsärskolan : En undersökning om metoder och material för arbetsminnesträning / Working memory training in education for pupils with intellectual impairment : A study on methods and material for working memory training

The aim of my thesis was to investigate in what grade teachers who work within special education make use any methods to train the working memory of their students to improve learning ability. I also wanted to examine the material used to train working memory and if any results were noticed. My choice of method was qualitative semi-structured interviews that were recorded during the interviews I conducted these in five different school with education for children with intellectual impairment. The result shows that the schools that are aware of recent research on working memory training had methods for training with their students. They could also see a result that shows that working memory can be improved with training. In those schools that not were aware of the research was working memory training something they didn`t do consciously. But with other forms of memory training, working memory training sometimes occurred as a result of the memory training.  The survey I did also show that current research has difficulties reaching out to the teachers without the active participation of teachers themselves.

Tyrimo objektas: Šeimų, auginančių intelekto sutrikimą turinčius vaikus, gyvenimo kokybė. Tyrimo tikslas – Nustatyti šeimų, auginančių sutrikusio intelekto vaikus, gyvenimo kokybę. Uždaviniai: 1. Apibūdinti šeimų, auginančių neįgalius vaikus, gyvenimo kokybę teoriniu aspektu 2. Išanalizuoti šeimų, auginančių neįgalius vaikus dalyvavimo darbinėje, visuomeninėje ir laisvalaikio veiklos galimybes ir ypatumus. 3. Ištirti šeimų, auginančių neįgalius vaikus, gyvenimo kokybę. 4. Palyginti šeimų, auginančių neįgalius vaikus, gyvenimo kokybę šeimos pajamų ir sudėties aspektais. Išvados: 1. Išanalizavus mokslinę literatūrą išryškėjo, kad šeimų, auginančių neįgalius vaikus, gyvenimo kokybę dažniausiai įtakoja materialinės problemos, socialinės paramos trūkumas, socialinis tinklas, tarpusavio santykiai. 2. Šeimos, auginančios neįgalius vaikus susiduria su įvairiomis kliūtimis derindami darbui ir vaiko priežiūrai skirtą laiką. Šeimų dalyvavimo visuomeniniame gyvenime intensyvumui įtakos turi vaiko negalės ypatumai, visuomenės požiūris, atitinkamos tėvų reakcijos į galimai neigiamą visuomenės požiūrį. Laisvalaikį įtakoja materialinės šeimos galimybės, pomėgiai. 3. Šeimos, auginančios sutrikusio intelekto vaikus savo gyvenimo kokybę vertina vidutiniškai. Vertinant šeimos sudėties aspektu didelių skirtumų nepastebėta, tačiau matoma tendencija, kad pilnos šeimos gyvenimo kokybę įvertino geriau nei nepilnos šeimos. The goal of the research – To identify the quality of life of families bringing up children with intelectual impairment. Aims: 1. To define the quality of life of families having disabled childen on the basis of theoretical aspect. 2. To analize the possibilities and features of taking part in working, social activities of families bringing up children with intelectual impairment. 3. To analize the quality of life of families bringing up disabled children. 4. To compare the quality of life of families bringing up disabled children on the basis of their income and the structure of the family. Conclusions: 1. After the analyses of scientific literature, it became obvious that the quality of families having disabled children depends on financial problems, the shortage of social help, social network, mutual relatioship. 2. Families bringing up disabled children face different obstacles while combining the time work and the time for a child‘s care. The intensivity of families taking part in social life is influenced by the features of a child‘s disability, the social attitude, possibile reactions of the parents to a negative attitude of the society.
