Avantgarda 20.-30. let - Praha a Moskva / The 20' s and 30' s avant-garde - Prague and Moscow

Dofková, Jekaterina Unknown Date (has links)
The relationship between Czech and Russian avantgarde has not been properly examined, therefore the aim of this research was to understand the real facts and uncover “ the blind spots“ connected with the specific development of avantgarde architecture in Czechoslovakia and Soviet Union. A comprehensive and moreless thorough detailed reconstruction of the interwar period has been created with the help of comparative and historiographic analysis. This period used to be interpreted quite contrarily under the political pressure of the Soviet regime. The thesis analyses the influence of the political regime on architecture, determines the reflection of the events in the Soviet Union on the opinions of Czechoslovak architects by means of testimonies about mutual contacts, mutual criticism and cooperation in the sphere of architecture. The thesis brings and concludes new information regarding Czech architects who were designing and working in the Soviet Union. The research is based on archive documents, articles from specialized contemporary magazines and debates between Czech and Russian architects.

Waltariho Cizinec přichází: srovnání překladu V. Skaličky (1941) a J. P. Velkoborského (2005) / Waltari's A Stranger Came to the Farm: a Comparison of Translation by V. Skalička (1941) and J. P. Velkoborský (2005)

Kalábová, Hana January 2021 (has links)
This master's thesis deals with the comparison of the two Czech translations of the book A Stranger Came to the Farm by Mika Waltari. The first translation was made by Vladimír Skalička in 1941 and the second one by Jan Petr Velkoborský in 2005. The thesis is divided into two main parts, a theoretical part and an analysis. The purpose of the theoretical part is to introduce the reader to Mika Waltari, both translators and the original book. I also briefly write about the translation theory. The analysis deals with lots of problems. One of them is the translation of the title and names. I am also interested in creativity of the translators, in the lexical richness of the adaptations and in their mistakes as well. I also show the difference in the approach of literal and free translation. Another big problem this thesis deals with is which text was the source for work of Velkoborský, because in his time there were two Finnish versions with small differences in them and also Skalička's interpretation already existed.

Součková, Ema January 2012 (has links)
Oldtown's gradual The aim of this work is a monographic elaboration of the Oldtown's gradual (XVII.A.40), from 1561 to 1567, in the context of the work of Jan Taborsky of Klokotska Hora, with the emphasis on connotation of Žlutice gradual. The work elaborates and critically appraises the literature about the genesis and decor, deeply analyses its illuminations (through formal and iconographic analysis) and gives basic orientation in questions of analogies of its decor. Another goal of this work is a summarization of the decor of Oldtown's gradual and elaborated analysis of its illuminations. Oldtown's gradual is one of the best Renaissance manuscripts. The penman was Jan Taborsky of Klokotska Hora; chapter 2.1. deals with his life and production. Matous Ornys of Lindperk was the limner; chapter 2.2. deals with his work. Indisputably, he belongs to the best limners of the 16th century. The decor of the gradual is described in the chapter 4.2. Illuminations of gradual have conventional scheme of choral manuscripts. A lot of analogies are to be found in the medieval and also Renaissance manuscripts. There are elements of medieval literary paintwork, but also fully Renaissance elements: perfect linear perspective and high-quality scenery. Oldtown's gradual is one of the most beautiful and one of the...
