Events identification using Box-Jenkins methodology with application to accelerated durability tests of ground vehicles

Sarkar, Mostofa Ali 20 September 2012 (has links)
Durability tests are important to ensure the safety and reliability of a ground vehicle and involve frequently driving a vehicle through a series of events that simulate different road conditions or obstacles encountered during actual driving. Since durability tests are costly in-terms of time and money, accelerated durability lab tests can be used to spot failures before actual road tests. Signals of different events of the actual durability road tests generate three continuous time series data, that can be used to conduct accelerated durability lab tests. The actual analysis of these time series is very challenging because they are (i) of high frequency (ii) very noisy and (iii) inconsistent. The purpose of this study was to identify the patterns of signals from the noisy and inconsistent time series data collected from the field tests. The Box-Jenkins methodology was used to identify models corresponding to different events. Due to complex structures of the real data, ARMA modelling was considered after testing stationarity of the given time series. While the time series data in vertical direction was used to identify the first three events, the time series in vertical, longitudinal and lateral directions were used to identify other four events.

PR-konsulter och bloggare; en win-win situation? : En studie om PR-konsulters förändrade arbetssätt i och med modebloggarnas framväxt

Girell, Cecilia, Kjellström, Sandra January 2014 (has links)
Abstract Title: PR consultants and bloggers; a win-win situation? -  <img src="file:///page3image16320" /> A study of PR consultants’ new adaptations in the labour market due to the emergence of fashion bloggers.  Authors: Cecilia Girell, Sandra Kjellström Tutor: Ylva Ekström Purpose: With the expansion of the Internet, fashion bloggers have gotten more power. A few companies have understood this powerful and reasonable cheap marketing channel. Despite this, most companies still feel powerless, but what has happened to the work of PR consultants in this constant changing media environment? The ones whos purpose is to act as intermediaries between companies and various media channels. That is our purpose for this essay; to look at PR consultants new adaptations in their extern marketing communication in phase with the ever- growing blogosphere. Method: In this study a qualitative method in terms of personal interviews has been used in the collection of data. Four interviews have been held; whereas two with PR consultants working with fashion, and two with fashion bloggers. These interviews together with literature and theories regarding our topic have later on been used as the base for our results and analysis. Main results: Overall, PR consultants have gotten a more stressful environment since the entrance of the bloggers. More and different strategies must nowadays be planned, since the bloggers work differently compared to traditional media. They offer a more personal connection towards their readers, which also have made it easier for the PR consultant to reach their target groups faster. Both bloggers and PR-consultants have nowadays become dependent on each other, and the factors leading up to this can be explained through technological, economic and cultural perspectives. Entrepreneurs

Patton, John A 15 May 2015 (has links)
In this paper, I will cover the process of making my thesis film, Entrepreneurs. Specific facets of this process include writing, directing, production design, cinematography, editing, sound, and technology. I will detail the goals initially set for each facet, the approach taken during production, and the results that led to the finished product. I will then evaluate the overall success of the project.

Správa přepínání procesů v aplikaci Jenkins / Suspending Jenkins Job Execution in Favor of High-Priority Jobs

Ondrušek, Libor January 2012 (has links)
The project deals with design and solution of plug-in for a Jenkins server, which allows management of jobs running on the nodes in the cluster of continuous integration system servers. This plug-in should allow pause the long time job, done process with higher priority and restore original job in state where it was interrupted.

Spanish version of Jenkins Sleep Scale in physicians and nurses: psychometric properties from a Peruvian nationally representative sample

Villarreal-Zegarra, David, Torres-Puente, Roberto, Otazú-Alfaro, Sharlyn, Al-kassab-Córdova, Ali, Rey de Castro, Jorge, Mezones-Holguín, Edward 01 June 2022 (has links)
Objective: To evaluate the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of Jenkins Sleep Scale with 4 items (JSS-4) of the Peruvian health system's (PHS) nurses and physicians. Methods: We carried out a psychometric study based on secondary analysis in a sample from a nationally representative survey that used acomplex sampling design. The participants were physicians and nurses aged 18–65 years, working in PHS private and public facilities, who have fulfilled all JSS-4 items. We performed a confirmatory factor analysis. Reliability was evaluated via two estimates - classic alpha (α) and categorical omega (ω) coefficients. Also, we tested the invariance across groups of variables. The convergent validity was evaluated based on the relation between JSS-4 and PHQ-2 using Pearson's correlation coefficient and effect size (Cohen's d). Also, we designed normative values based on percentiles. Results: We included 2100 physicians and 2826 nurses in the analysis. We observed that the unidimensional model has adequate goodness-of-fit indices and values of α and ω coefficients. No measurement invariance was found between the groups of professionals and age groups; however, invariance was achieved between sex, monthly income, work-related illness, and chronic illness groups. Regarding the relation with other variables, the JSS-4 has a small correlation with PHQ-2. Also, profession and age-specific normative values were proposed. Conclusion: JSS-4 Spanish version has adequate psychometric properties in PHS nurses and physicians. / Revisión por pares

The Development and Evaluation of a Forecasting System that Incorporates ARIMA Modeling with Autoregression and Exponential Smoothing

Simmons, Laurette Poulos 05 1900 (has links)
This research was designed to develop and evaluate an automated alternative to the Box-Jenkins method of forecasting. The study involved two major phases. The first phase was the formulation of an automated ARIMA method; the second was the combination of forecasts from the automated ARIMA with forecasts from two other automated methods, the Holt-Winters method and the Stepwise Autoregressive method. The development of the automated ARIMA, based on a decision criterion suggested by Akaike, borrows heavily from the work of Ang, Chuaa and Fatema. Seasonality and small data set handling were some of the modifications made to the original method to make it suitable for use with a broad range of time series. Forecasts were combined by means of both the simple average and a weighted averaging scheme. Empirical and generated data were employed to perform the forecasting evaluation. The 111 sets of empirical data came from the M-Competition. The twenty-one sets of generated data arose from ARIMA models that Box, Taio and Pack analyzed using the Box-Jenkins method. To compare the forecasting abilities of the Box-Jenkins and the automated ARIMA alone and in combination with the other two methods, two accuracy measures were used. These measures, which are free of magnitude bias, are the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) and the median absolute percentage error (Md APE).
