Shuttle, a press guide to the John F. Kennedy Space Center / Press guide to the John F. Kennedy Space Center.

Sanders, Douglas K. January 1985 (has links)
"Shuttle" presents a text' with maps and color photographs, suitable for publication, to inform members of the news media uninformed with space shuttle flights. Because of the voluminous press materials for shuttle missions submitted by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, this creative project attempted to compile information as to the most relevant topics of space shuttle flights obtained from official NASA publications, interviews, transcripts and from veteran space center reporters. Since the author has photographed and covered six Orbiter missions for newspapers and radio, personal observations in this creative project explain a "behind-the-scenes” of varying practical experience at the John F. Kennedy Space Center.NASA has four space shuttles--Columbia, Challenger, Discovery and Atlantis. From that combined "space pool" at least 400 manned missions are planned, some more ambitious than others. But each of the four Orbiters will require relevant information on the part of media representatives at Kennedy, especially those at the space center for the very first time. "Shuttle" is intended to help meet those news responsibilities.

A Rhetorical Study of President John F. Kennedy's Ceremonial Speaking

Neu, Wayne 01 1900 (has links)
Rhetorical studies have been lacking in the area of John F. Kennedy's ceremonial speeches. Therefore, it was felt that a contribution could be made by analyzing samples of President Kennedy's speeches delivered on special occasions in order to describe what he used in such situations and where possible to attempt to explain why he used these devices. This study will be done in light of principles given by some classical and modern rhetoricians concerning the ceremonial speech. The specific criteria will be the rhetorical canons of invention, disposition, and style.

"Special Relationship" v době vlády Harolda Macmillana (1957-1963) / "Special Relationship" in the Era of Harold Macmillan (1957-1963)

Beranová, Monika January 2017 (has links)
This thesis analyzes key moments from the tenures of Harold Macmillan as British Prime Minister and John Fitzgerald Kennedy as President of the United States. The United Kingdom and the United States had a Special Relationship between them, which was based upon their close political cooperation. Macmillan and Kennedy deepend this relation by their personal friendship, which played a major role in the course of finding solutions to the conflicts they had to face in the context of the Cold War, when there was a real possibility of nuclear annihilation. The analysis shows that the Special Relationship in the years 1957-1963 went through several dynamic developments, however it never lost its unique status. Despite initial distrust between the two countries immediately following the Suez Crisis, both politicians always managed to find a compromise solution. Thanks to their friendship and deep personal respect, they managed to always unite, even during times of gravest peril. A typical example of the personal relationship is the Cuban Missile Crisis, when Kennedy kept in touch via telephone with Macmillan and often asked him for advice. By virtue of this contact, Macmillan became one of the President's principal advisors in the course of the crisis. The Special Relationship between the two countries did...
