Previous issue date: 2006-04-05 / Learning to read and write, for many young, adults and elderly Brazilian
people means a way of meeting or reencountering with the contents that determine
the ways to understand and to transform the world. The starting point of the research
is the definition of the meaning of knowing to read and to write through students and
teachers’ speech of young and adults literacy classes. From this starting point, to
investigate until the extent this haste in the literacy process (Brazil enters in XXI
century with 20 million absolute illiterates) intervenes with the conquest of this
meaning of knowing to read and to write. This is because in the synthesis of the
objectives that will intensify this expactation is the EJA commitment to go beyond the
ways of the simple written code acquisition, or either, to teach in a way that the
student can use the contents assimilated in a daily basis. Although the adult situation
also includes the elder one, the research deals with the literacy challeng in the third
age, in its third chapter (there are four chapters), therefore the title refers to young,
adults and elderly people. Accomplishing the study, I decide to conduct a qualitative
research – half-structuralized interviews and classroom observation. By inquiring, it
was possible to detect the importance of the student’s valuing process through the
quality of education and the investment in the teacher’s continuing education for the
young and education area. Or either, to answer students and teachers successfully,
instead of presenting numbers, and statistics to satisfy requirements of international
Isto

processos formais, não-formais e informais, o presente estudo discute a concepção
Adultos e Idosos e direitos humanos; Analisar a relação entre as políticas
(1982, 1987, 1992, 1996), Gadotti (1992, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2016), Lima (2007),
Paiva (1983, 2003), Paiva (2009), Pinto (1987), Requejo Osorio (2003), Ribeiro
(2005), Romão (2007, 2011), Oliveira (1999, 2013) e Scortegagna (2010, 2013,
pedagoga e 12 professores.
Based on the premise that education is a constitutional and human right in Brazil and
it’s not restricted only to schooling or Basic Education, but also involves formal, nonformal
and informal processes, this study discusses the concept of permanent
education based on the principle of multiple and integral, defining Youth and Adult
Education and Education for the Elderly (known in Brazil by the portuguese acronym
– EJAI) as a research field since it presents some convergent elements. Thus, the
research problem raises the following question: what are the relationships between
educational policies for EJAI and lifelong education? The general objective is to
analyze the relationship between lifelong education and EJAI educational policies
from the perspective of constitutional and human rights to education. As specific
objectives, we’ve established: Contextualized education as a right in Brazil, based on
the Constitutions and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; To conceptualize
lifelong education based on the different existing approaches, establishing its
relations with educational policies for the Education of Youth, Adults and Elders; to
investigate the relationship between permanent education, Youth and Adult
Education and Education for the Elderly and human rights; to analyze the relationship
between the educational policies for Education of Young people, Adults and Elders
and the permanent education, evidencing its limits and possibilities. The
methodology that was applied is based on the critical approach and on the main
theoretical references used to discuss the problem. they are Arroyo (2017) Barros
(2013), Furter (1976, 1984), Freire (1982, 1987, 1992, 1996), Gadotti (2007), Paiva
(2009), Pinto (1987), Requejo Osorio (2003), Ribeiro (2005), Romão (2007, 2011)
Oliveira (1999, 2013) and Scortegagna (2010, 2013, 2016). The methodological
procedures were based on the state of knowledge, followed by bibliographical and
qualitative research. The research location was a private institution of Curitiba that
offers the EJAI in the Fundamental and Middle levels and it counted with the
application of a questionnaire contained open and closed questions for the
pedagogical and teachers team, composed by a pedagogue and 12 teachers. Among
the results, 75% of the teachers have knowledge about continuing education and are
able to relate it to EJAI, declaring that, as a public policy, this modality is considered
a way of permanent education and it evidences that the educational policies can be
considered the connection between them. In addition, it was possible to present that
there are no specific educational policies for lifelong education, that the National
Education Plan is the most well-known educational policy of the public surveyed and
that all educational policies that contemplate the EJAI are related to permanent
education. EJAI is part of the concept of permanent education.

Apenas um CLICK!: revelando atos de leitura e escrita de jovens, adultos e idosos na prática social / Just a CLICK!: revealing the reading and writing acts of young, adult and elderly learners in social practiceRejane Cristina Barreto Faria 26 April 2012 (has links)
The aim of this study is to investigate, by means of photographic image, the reading and writing acts performed by young, adult and elderly learners in their social practice. To achieve this, I took as my research locus the subjects daily routine, where they produce knowledge and participate in reading and writing events, because I had found that few scientific studies in the academic literature consider the social practice as a suitable environment for training individuals for the world of literate culture. Photography was redefined, for the purpose of this work, as an instrument with which to collect data, and I recorded the different ways in which written material circulates within social spaces as well as the different ways young people, adults and elderly people read and write in their daily routine. In the modern age, individuals are often capable of reading the many languages that have become established in the world, but their participation in the graphocentric society is differenciated. Considering that the social practice mould individuals in the literate culture, I have chosen to investigate the expression of formative acts based on the concepts of availability, access, context and participation, in line with Kalmans study (2009).
