Utveckling av lastutrymme för ett konceptfordon : Utvecklingsprojekt för den designmässiga utformningen av ett måttdefinerat lastutrymme / Development of Boot Compartment for a concept vehicle : Development project for the design layout of a measure defined boot compartmentÅkerman Markgren, Marcus January 2016 (has links)
This report covers a development project which goal is to produce one or more layout concepts of a measure defined boot compartment. This project is conducted as Bachelor of Science thesis within the bachelor engineering program of innovation technics and design in Karlstad University, Sweden. The assignment was supplied by Martin Larsson, managing director at Precer Autotech, a company that is developing a new type of hybrid vehicle that runs on solid fuels. This vehicle owns the dimensions of an average sized car, though is technically defined as a larger sized quad or ATV. Because of this, the vehicle in question is subject to several special factors regarding, for example, the ratio between weight and size. The project is going to provide part of the foundation on which this concept vehicle will be developed. The process of industrial design has pervaded this project, with methods and techniques originated from said process riddling the entirety of the project. Methods such as the use of a full scale mock-up have nuanced this project. From sessions of brainstorming to the development of concepts, this project has been using techniques and ways which has been a defining part of the university studies. The project resulted in one concept for totality of the measure defined boot compartment, which has shown to fulfill the demands of the project. The final concept solution has also been implemented in a full scale mock-up, which was a part of the project’s goals. / Utveckling av lastutrymme för ett konceptfordon

An investigative and evaluative study of factors affecting quality of agricultural and farm information services in KeralaRaman Nair, R. 01 June 2004 (has links)
Agriculture is not only a country’s backbone of food, livelihood and ecological security systems, but is also the very soul of its sovereignty. In Kerala population density is high and land is scarce. To achieve sustainable advancement in quality of human life, meeting the domestic food requirement is to be given foremost priority in development plans. As the area of cultivation cannot be increased and growth of population cannot be controlled growth in food production is to be achieved by qualitative improvement in farming. This requires improvements in material inputs, farming techniques, storage technology and research. Effective integration of these factors is tied closely to adequate information flow, which can be ensured only by an efficient information system for agricultural education, research, extension and development. So evaluation and improvement of existing information services is very crucial for sustainable agricultural growth. The study evaluates the existing information resources, facilities, services, possibilities for resource sharing, accessibility of external sources, and the factors that affect the quality and efficiency of information services in agricultural sector. Coverage is limited to the State of Kerala. Sample consist 105 institutions of different levels, and information users consisting of 426 scientists and 220 farmers. Different sets of questionnaires and interview schedule were used to elicit information. The study found that agricultural research conducted at various institutions in the region at huge public expense has generated knowledge for improving production. Along with these huge collections of acquired content is also stored in the sector. But when a farmer, an extension worker, a scientist or an administrator needs information it is not easily accessible. The study found that agricultural sector fails to effectively bank on information resources available due to the lack of an information system and network. Recommends an Agricultural and Farm Information System for Kerala. Suggests a model plan for a computer communication network for resource sharing between the agricultural institutions in the State, which will also ensure, smooth flow of results of research down to the grassroots level to achieve maximum productivity in agriculture.

Tangata Manu : Fågelmannens uppror. / Tangata Manu : The rebellion of the birdmanBretón, Ricardo January 2019 (has links)
This study investigates the ceremonial village of Orongo and the sacred site of Mata Ngarau. They are located on the southern edge of the Ranu Kau volcano crater, as well as the Motu Nui islet in front of the named volcano. Orongo was the scenario of important political and religious events that submerged Rapa Nui and its inhabitants in a magical story from the mid-1500s to the mid-1800s. This study aims, to some extent, elucidate the context in which the legend and the ritual of the Tangata Manu originates and its importance for the development of the Rapa Nui society. The study examines archaeological, ethnohistorical and contemporary evidences of the birdman cult and contradictory theories about the catastrophe that loomed over the Rapa Nui society The archaeological evidence of those events is the silent testimony of the god Make Make and Tangata Manu, the birdman, the god representative on earth. These are carved on the edge and the slopes of the Ranu Kau crater, in the carved and rupestrian paintings of the stone houses of Mata Ngarau at Orongo, in the caves of the Motu Nui islet and in the one of the cannibals, Ana Kai Tangata. Ethnohistorical evidences provide data on the ritual activities in connection to the birdman cult. The social and environmental degradation which causes of the almost total extermination of its inhabitants as well as the eroding of its culture and with it that of the birdman, Tangata Manu. Today the birdman culture and Orongo is one of the prominent visitors’ sites on the island but interviews with Indigenous Rapanui show that the site also continue to have spiritual and political meaning in today’s society. The modern Rapa Nui society today shows contradictory features. On the one hand we see the face of a thriving, mercantilist society, with hundreds of thousands of tourists visiting it annually and buying handicrafts of dubious local creation. On the other hand, we observe the efforts of hundreds of islanders who struggle to maintain their language, their cultural heritage, their petroglyphs, their cave paintings and their legends. That is the spirit of the rebellion of Tangata Manu.

Vertikaltransportör : Till pappersrullar / Vertical transporter : for paper rollsFerreira Neto, Luiz Benicio January 2013 (has links)
This project includes a thesis performed at Karlstad University in spring 2013. The thesis is included in the mechanical engineering program and contains 22.5 university points, which is equivalent to 480 hours of work including self-study. This work has implemented by the student Luiz Ferreira in cooperation with the firm Camatec Industriteknik AB in Karlstad. The purpose of this project has been that the company Camatec wants to offer their customers a standard vertical transporter. This transporter must be able to transport paper rolls, which can weigh up to 5 tons, between two floors. The objective with this project has been to prepare a complete set of drawings for a vertical transporter and a price estimate of all its components. This transporter must fit into a given elevator shaft but also be able to adapt into different dimensions. A vertical transporter has been developed with help of different methods including 3D-modeling, Finite Element Method and strength calculations. The total development of the transporter has been divided into several areas of constructions: Receiver for paper rolls An existing receiver for paper rolls has been redesigned and adapted into the new construction. Frame A frame has been developed including I-beams, flat bars and hollow structural sections which have been connected with welding and bolts to hold the receiver. Mechanism A mechanism of shaft and bearings, which allow the receiver to rotate so the paper rolls can relief in a facility way, has been designed. Guiding A guiding section has been developed, in which t-grids have been used to guide the transporter along the given elevator shaft. Vibration damper Two ANB 100 vibration dampers with a hardness of 70 Shore have been used to suppress one side of the receiver so it can rotate. Hoist An appropriate rope hoist for this transporter has been discussed with the firm ABUS Kransystem AB in Karlstad. This hoist carries almost the entire transporter. Standard components are used through the entire project and these have been estimated at an amount of about 306 000 Swedish crowns, where prices for the existing solution of receiver, processing and installation are not included.
