Studien behandlar pedagogers tal om och användande av lek som pedagogiskt verktyg för lärande i fyra olika verksamheter i Saskatchewan, Kanada. Syftet är att ta reda på vilket innehåll barnen får möta i verksamheter under sina första år och mer specifikt hur pedagoger talar om lek och lärande. En pedagog från respektive daycare, play-school, kindergarten och grade 1 intervjuas. De intervjuade får svara frågor om lekens roll, strategier och hur de anser att barn lär sig på bästa sätt, men även frågor om vad de anser att syftet med verksamheten är. Resultatet visar att pedagoger talar om innehåll och strategi, lek och lärande, i verksamheterna varierande beroende på syfte med verksamheten, ramverk och personligt förhållningssätt. Verksamheterna har olika fokus och intentioner vilket skapar olika innehåll och strategier för barns lek och lärande. I resultat- och analysavsnittet synliggörs olika samspelsformer i verksamheterna beroende på hur pedagoger har uttyckt lek och lärande. Där visar daycare upp en bild av ett berättande men också explorativt samspel eftersom barn och pedagoger på ett lekfullt vis styr riktningen för lärande. I play-school och grade 1 ger pedagogerna en bild av formbundet samspel där leken väljs bort på grund av struktur som sätter lärande i främsta rum. Kindergarten ger uttryck för ett explorativt samspel då leken får styra riktningen för lärandet. Diskussionen avslutas med att sätta resultatet i förhållande till svensk diskussion kring området.

This Masetr thesis looks into weathering pits of nature park Česká Kanada. The theoretical part of the thesis investigates research of weathering pits done in the Czech Republic as well as abroad. The practical part deals with weathering pit-bearing as well as weathering pitabsent blocks of rock within the study area. It describes their geological-geomorphological environment and attempts to find differences between the weathering pit-bearing and absent blocks (the presence of cracks, altitude, landforms, shape of the rock block and more). Furthermore it was established that a suitable rock block morphology (respectively the existence of horizontal plane) is important for formation of weathering pits. It also studies water properties in selected weathering pits, relationship of overhangs to prevailing wind directions. A correlation between overhang and wind direction was found in sense that NW to W winds correspond with overhang formation on eastern sides of weathering pits. Water in weathering pit of Čertův kámen located in sunny bare landscape shows significantly different properties in comparison with water properties of remaining weathering pits located in forrested areas.

The aim of this thesis is to test and consequently disprove or confirm the hypothesis that with the large influx of immigrants to Canada, volunteerism might not be able to survive in its present form. In the theoretical part of the work focus has been set on term definition and volunteering classification because it is a structured activity with its own rules and policy. History of volunteering has been described in the following chapter. This part goes beyond the history of volunteering in Canada since it is a deeply rooted Anglo-Saxon tradition which had been brought there by the British and French. The last chapter has been dedicated to the current situation of volunteering in Canada including a profile of a volunteer and possible current threats. The practical part has been based on a survey conducted among York University community members and an analysis of their answers. This survey became, together with my visit to the 2011 Toronto Volunteer Fair and an in-depth interview, the main source for the comparison of practice and theory.
