Patrick Süskinds Roman ”Das Parfum”als kapitalismuskritische Darstellung / Patrick Süskind’s „The Perfume” as acriticism of capitalism.

Kotremagias, Dimitrios January 2022 (has links)
The main purpose of this essay has been to investigate whether Patrick Süskinds novel “The Perfume” contains capitalism-critical elements.Although this has never been stated by the author publicly, it does not escape most readers, that the novel does indeed contain several socially criticalpoints, among them a critique on capitalism and capitalist behaviour. The study shows that the novel exhibits several features that are consistent with critics of capitalism, such as the theories of Marx and Weber among others. Four areas have been selected for analysis of the novel. These areas are exploitation, greed and ambition, competition, and accumulation. The result of the study shows that the novel contains several signs of capitalismcriticism, and that many descriptions of the figures and events in the novel can be linked to it.

Nové přístupy k podnikání s aplikací v podnikatelském plánu / New Approaches to Entrepreneurship Applied Through a Business Plan

Caspe Pikhartová, Dagmar January 2010 (has links)
This master's thesis deals with the potential for a car-sharing service in Prague. The service allows renting cars for a specified number of hours. Car-sharing is a commonly offered service in cities of the developed world. The theoretical section of the thesis introduces car-sharing and the current level of its adoption. Next, two conceptual bases for the development of the business plan are presented. The first is the macroeconomic theory of natural capitalism. At the theory's core is the recognition of the importance of natural capital. An improvement in protection of natural capital can be achieved by raising the consumption of services, instead of material products. In the case of car-sharing, the consumer only pays for the actual use of car, not for the ownership. The second concept is social entrepreneurship, which is an inspiring alternative to managing a business entity. Its goal is not only financial gain, but also positive social impact. The impact in case of car-sharing is in lowering the number of vehicles on the road and improvement of quality of life in cities. The business plan includes two financial alternatives. The thesis concludes that running a car-sharing organization in Prague is conceivable, but requires support from the municipality. Car-sharing cannot be expected to generate quick profit, but rather the profit model builds slowly. The final part of the thesis presents balanced scorecard developed for the first year of operation with the goal of achieving the optimistic alternative modeled in the business plan. The key to success in the first year is gaining and retaining customers.

Die Neoklassische Ökonomik und der Romantische Konsumismus: Ideologische Bremsklötze einer 'Großen Transformation' zur Nachhaltigkeit

Krüger, Uwe, Pfeiffer, Juliane 19 November 2019 (has links)

Genderová nevyváženost na českém Spotify / Is Czech Spotify Gender-Biased?

Křížková, Alžběta January 2021 (has links)
Is Czech Spotify gender-biased? Alžběta Křížková Abstract This thesis analyses the gender inequality of music streaming platform Spotify. It focuses on Czech Spotify, ergo, on the Czech music industry between May 2020 and March 2021. The interdisciplinary study covers crucial theoretical concepts from the theory of platforms, popular music, and gender studies. It verifies whether the theory built on Anglo-Saxon tradition can be applied to the local setting. The dataset comprises of songs placed in the "TOP 200" chart and select editorial playlists. The chart illustrates song popularity based on listeners (organic listening), and chosen editorial playlists indicate the platform's promotion of songs (suggested listening). The gender gap analysis is based on a comparison of three gender ratios of songs entering the platform in total, in the playlists, and songs that make it to the chart. The empirical research utilises fundamental statistics and presents various song aspects (genre, record label, band formation, and others) in relation to artists' gender on Spotify, but also in the Czech music industry. The results show a low representation of female artists in the whole industry, while the platform actively promotes female artists via suggested listening. Organic listening endorses gender stereotypes and...
