Leben in Widersprüchen: Biografien von Menschen mit Rassismuserfahrungen

Tran, Linh 16 December 2020 (has links)

An observational study on the abidance to mask mandates at tram stops

Boesch, Lukas 30 July 2021 (has links)
The corona pandemic has led to the implementation of non-pharmaceutical interventions by governments worldwide. The use of face masks limits the spread of the COVID-19 virus and mask mandates are a prominent tool of public health policy. However, this measure is highly politicized and abidance to mask mandates is crucial for the efficiency of face masks. Here, I present the results of an observational study on the abidance to mask mandates at tram stops in Leipzig, Germany. Based on logistic mixed effects regression models, I show that abidance to mask mandates was generally low, with a mask-wearing rate of 33%. However, mask-wearing was more prominent in situations with an increased risk of infection (high 7 day incidence and numerous people at the tram stops). My results contradict the high abidance to mask mandates of 90% found in surveys and highlights the rationality behind mask-wearing behavior

How strong is European solidarity?: preliminary results from a survey conducted in 13 member states of the EU

Gerhards, Jürgen, Lengfeld, Holger, Ignácz, Zsófia S., Kley, Florian K., Priem, Maximilian 05 March 2018 (has links)
The paper describes the preliminary findings of a recent research project conducted on Euro-pean solidarity. We surveyed citizens of 13 Members States of the EU about their disposition toward (European) solidarity. An upcoming book will offer an elaborate theoretical framework about the existence of European solidarity. Additionally, this book will also presents detailed results from the project and in-depth discussion of the findings. However, we decided to publish some of the descriptive results beforehand in the form of this report as the major findings of our study have high public and political relevance. The development of recent crises has been rather fast-paced, and is in contrast with the long wait that comes with the publication of aca-demic texts. So, the latter process hinders the most important information to reach the public and policy makers as soon as possible and this report wishes to remedy it slightly.

Gesellschaft ohne Klassen? Vorstellungsbilder der deutschen Sozialstruktur

Rehberg, Karl-Siegbert 07 November 2008 (has links)
The key terms of social inequality (e. g. status, class, caste, stratum) have always been used for the legitimation of socio-political action. At the same time, they can also be employed as analytical and theoretical tools, as this paper aims to show exemplarily with the term ‘class’. The changes in social structure after 1945 have been interpreted in various ways by German sociologists, for instance in Helmut Schlesky’s concept of the “levelled middle-class society”, or as a social structure “beyond class and stratum” (Ulrich Beck). It is here to be pointed out that, while ‘class societies’ have changed (locally as well as globally), ‘class sociability’ has remained determinative for the social structure.

Der Begriff des wahrscheinlichkeitstheoretisch Vernünftigen

Schmid, Patrick 31 May 2011 (has links)
