FUVEST was created in 1976/77 under a linguistic paradigm, adopting a linguistic variation approach in opposition to the traditional grammar test. Based on the test statements as a corpus, it will be discussed how meanings are created between standard language and its variations. Thus it will be possible to notice how the Portuguese language has been having its meaning established in Brazil´s main college entrance exam. / No presente trabalho intitulado Os sentidos de língua portuguesa no vestibular FUVEST pretendo, por meio de um estudo semântico, analisar o sentido de língua portuguesa neste vestibular que em 1976/77 nasceu sob um paradigma linguístico, em oposição à tradicional prova de gramática, quando adotou um conceito de variação linguística. Tendo como corpus os enunciados das provas, buscarei discutir como se produzem os sentidos na materialidade da língua na relação norma padrão e variantes que acontece no exame. Assim, será possível perceber como vem sendo significada língua portuguesa em um dos principais vestibulares do país.
