Este estudo objetivou analisar de que modo a vivência em uma das maiores empresas mundiais de auditoria (Big Four) influenciou na construção das trajetórias de carreira dos contadores que lá tiveram experiência como auditor ou consultor. Para a realização desta pesquisa qualitativa contou-se com a participação de catorze contadores que trabalham ou trabalharam nestas organizações. A coleta de dados ocorreu por meio de entrevista semiestruturada. A apresentação dos resultados foi organizada em 20 categorias iniciais, que deram origem a 7 intermediárias e 3 categorias finais de análise. Elas dizem respeito às expectativas e idealizações no início da carreira, à experiência vivenciada na Big e às mudanças de perspectivas pessoais e profissionais impactando nas decisões de carreira dos entrevistados. Esta dissertação possibilitou perceber, pela visão dos contadores entrevistados, que a experiência nestas empresas gera influências significativas, que poderiam ser considerados legados, tanto profissionais como pessoais para os indivíduos, devido ao dinamismo, definido por eles como diferenciado, a que essas pessoas ficaram sujeitas. Além disso, verificou-se que para quem decide sair dessas instituições, há uma alta empregabilidade no mercado de trabalho e, para os que decidem permanecer, há a possibilidade de se tornar sócio, dependendo das suas escolhas e direcionamentos das trajetórias de carreira, que são baseadas nos gostos e preferências pessoais, mas também influenciada pelo meio social no qual essas pessoas estão inseridas. Mostrou-se forte, nesta pesquisa, a influência da família para o direcionamento das escolhas e da constituição das trajetórias profissionais. Revelaram-se experiências nas Bigs enquanto carreiras organizacionais, hierarquizadas, em um ambiente com altas demandas de trabalho e priorização da carreira em detrimento à vida pessoal; entretanto, ao longo do tempo as mudanças de vida que ocorreram, demandaram, em determinado momento, um maior equilíbrio entre vida pessoal e profissional, que foi o maior direcionador das escolhas das novas trajetórias. O dilema das auditoras e o interesse pela docência, que a maioria dos entrevistados demonstrou, também são resultados desta pesquisa. / This study analyzed how the experience in one of the largest audit firms (Big Four) influenced the construction of the Accountant career trajectories while auditor or consultant. For the realization of this qualitative research was counted with the participation of fourteen accountants who work or have worked in these organizations. The data were collected through semi-structured interview. The presentation of the results was organized in 20 initial categories, which gave rise to 7 intermediate and final 3 categories of analysis. They relate to expectations and idealizations early in his career, to the experience of the Big and changes of personal and professional perspectives impacting on the respondents career decisions. This work made it possible to realize, by the interviewees counters that the experience these companies generate significant influences, which could be considered legacy, both professional and personal to individuals, due to the dynamics defined by them as differentiated, that these people were subject. Moreover, it was found that for those who decide to leave these institutions, there is a high employability in the labor market and for those who decide to stay, there is the possibility of becoming a partner, depending on your choices and directions of career paths that they are based on personal tastes and preferences, but also influenced by the social environment in which these people are located. Proved to be strong in this research, the family influence on the direction of the choices and the establishment of professional trajectories. They have proven experience in the Bigs as organizational, hierarchical careers in an environment with high job demands and prioritizing career over personal life; however, over time the life changes that occurred, demanded at any given time, a better balance between personal and professional life, which was the biggest driver of the choices of new paths. The dilemma of auditing and interest in teaching, most of them show, are also results of this research.

abstract: Four Souvenirs for Violin and Piano was composed by Paul Schoenfeld (b.1947) in 1990 as a showpiece, spotlighting the virtuosity of both the violin and piano in equal measure. Each movement is a modern interpretation of a folk or popular genre, re- envisioned over intricate jazz harmonies and rhythms. The work was commissioned by violinist Lev Polyakin, who specifically requested some short pieces that could be performed in a local jazz establishment named Night Town in Cleveland, Ohio. The result is a work that is approximately fifteen minutes in length. Schoenfeld is a respected composer in the contemporary classical music community, whose Café Music (1986) for piano trio has recently become a staple of the standard chamber music repertoire. Many of his other works, however, remain in relative obscurity. It is the focus of this document to shed light on at least one other notable composition; Four Souvenirs for Violin and Piano. Among the topics to be discussed regarding this piece are a brief history behind the genesis of this composition, a structural summary of the entire work and each of its movements, and an appended practice guide based on interview and coaching sessions with the composer himself. Um dos mecanismos utilizados para economizar combustível numa transferência completa de um veículo espacial em órbita da Terra para uma órbita em torno da Lua, é o fenômeno de captura gravitacional temporária. Nesse trabalho é feita a análise numérica de diversas trajetórias em torno da Lua, considerando-se as dinâmicas de três e quatro corpos, com o objetivo de estudar o fenômeno da captura gravitacional temporária, através do monitoramento do sinal da energia relativa de dois corpos partícula-Lua e das componentes radiais das forças gravitacionais da Terra, da Lua e do Sol. Através desses estudos também foram obtidos diversos mapas de escape e colisão, considerando-se os movimentos prógrado e retrógrado. / Abstract: With the launch of the first artificial satellite of the Earth, Sputnik I, arose the necessity of the development of the satellites more efficient and more economic. One of the mechanisms used to save fuel in a complete transference of one spacecraft in orbit of the Earth to an orbit around the Moon, is the phenomena of the temporary gravitational capture. In this paper is made the numerical analysis of the several trajectories around the Moon, considering the dynamics of the three and four-bodies, with the objective of studying the phenomena of temporary gravitational capture, through monitoring the sign of the relative two-body energy particle-Moon and the radial component of the force of attraction, gravitational of the Earth, of the Moon and of the Sun. Though of these studies also were obtained several maps of the escape and collision, considering the prograde and retrograde movements. / Mestre

Mostrou-se forte, nesta pesquisa, a influência da família para o direcionamento das escolhas e da constituição das trajetórias profissionais. Revelaram-se experiências nas Bigs enquanto carreiras organizacionais, hierarquizadas, em um ambiente com altas demandas de trabalho e priorização da carreira em detrimento à vida pessoal; entretanto, ao longo do tempo as mudanças de vida que ocorreram, demandaram, em determinado momento, um maior equilíbrio entre vida pessoal e profissional, que foi o maior direcionador das escolhas das novas trajetórias. Este trabalho parte da afinidade que encontramos entre aspectos da pesquisa psicanalítica e da aprendizagem por projetos para lançar nossa questão: em que essas duas metodologias, concernentes a campos diferentes – psicanálise e educação –, convergem ou em que divergem? Seria uma relação de homologia? A fim de realizar essa análise, estamos posicionando-nos desde a pesquisa psicanalítica. Portanto, é nela que buscamos nosso método e nosso instrumento de análise, a saber, o matema dos quatro discursos. No que diz respeito à pesquisa psicanalítica, buscamos nossos fragmentos em textos de Lacan e Freud. Esses fragmentos são articulados às diretrizes teóricas da aprendizagem por projeto, e a uma situação prática de nossa pesquisa: uma oficina de programação de computadores ocorrida em uma escola pública de Porto Alegre. Com essa articulação, percorremos nossa análise, delimitando pontos que aproximam ou afastam essas duas metodologias. / This work starts since the affinity that we found between features of the psychoanalytic research and the learning projects in order to launch our question: considering these two methodologies, concerning different fields – psychoanalysis and education –, at what points do they converge or diverge? It would be a homology? In order to realize this analysis, we are positioning ourselves since the psychoanalytic research. Thus, there we get our method and our analysis tool, that is, the matema of four discourses. As regards psychoanalytic research, we get our fragments in texts written by Lacan and Freud. These fragments are articulated on the theoretical guidelines of learning project, and on a practical situation of our research: a workshop of computer programming for children, which has occurred in a public school in Porto Alegre. After that, we go through our analysis, delimiting points that bring these methodologies closer or further each other.

This thesis is divided in two parts. The first one is devoted to the dynamics of polariton condensates, with particular attention to their pattern-forming capabilities. In many configurations of physical interest, the dynamics of polariton condensates can be modelled by means of a non-linear PDE which is strictly related to the Gross-Pitaevskii and the complex Ginzburg-Landau equations. Numerical simulations of this equation are used to investigate the robustness of the rotating vortex lattice which is predicted to spontaneously form in a non-equilibrium trapped condensate. An idea for a polariton-based gyroscope is then presented. The device relies on peculiar properties of non-equilibrium condensates - the possibility of controlling the vortex emission mechanism and the use of pumping strength as a control parameter - and improves on existing proposals for superfluid-based gyroscopes. Finally, the important rôle played by quantum pressure in the recently observed transition from a phase-locked but freely flowing condensate to a spatially trapped one is discussed. The second part of this thesis presents work done in the context of the geometrical models of matter framework, which aims to describe particles in terms of 4-dimensional manifolds. Conserved quantum numbers of particles are encoded in the topology of the manifold, while dynamical quantities are to be described in terms of its geometry. Two infinite families of manifolds, namely ALF gravitational instantons of types A_k and D_k, are investigated as possible models for multi-particle systems. On the basis of their topological and geometrical properties it is concluded that A_k can model a system of k+1 electrons, and D_k a system of a proton and k-1 electrons. Energy functionals which successfully reproduce the Coulomb interaction energy, and in one case also the rest masses, of these particle systems are then constructed in terms of the area and Gaussian curvature of preferred representatives of middle dimension homology. Finally, an idea for constructing multi-particle models by gluing single-particle ones is discussed.

The goal of this research was to explore cohort differences in the role of communication in romantic relationships throughout the lifespan. This project explored the direct and indirect effects of attachment styles (i.e., anxious, avoidant) and negative communication patterns (i.e., Gottman's four horsemen: criticism, defensiveness, contempt, stonewalling) on commitment levels, psychosocial outcomes, attitudes toward union transitions (i.e., marriage, divorce, cohabitation), reasons for divorce, and reasons for delaying divorce as a direct function of experience with marital biographies. A marital biography refers to the history or experiences with union transitions in romantic relationships. A secondary aim is to test differences in these same variables as a function of direct experience with divorce moderated by age at the first divorce. Participants, including young divorced adults between ages 18-49 (N = 162) and gray adults ages 50+ (N = 96), completed a survey with measures including attachment, communication practices, commitment, attitudes toward union transitions, psychosocial outcomes, reasons for divorce, and reasons for delaying divorce. The results indicated that, insecure attachment styles and Gottman's four horsemen are predictive of divorce, with stonewalling being an aggravating factor, particularly for anxious attachment styles, and the risk for divorce. The experience of union transitions, especially divorce, affect how we approach future romantic relationships in addition to altering psychosocial outcomes, personal, moral, and structural commitment. Gender differences were found in divorced participants’ personal and moral commitment, psychosocial outcomes, and reasons for divorce. Age at first divorce-related differences were present in participants' structural commitment, reasons for divorce, length of delay, and reasons for delaying divorce. Even though age at first divorce was not a moderating factor, it still played an important role in reasons leading up to and outcomes of divorce.
