Os experimentos de campo foram realizados no Setor de Olericultura e Plantas Aromático-Medicinais e no Laboratório de Melhoramento Genético de Hortaliças, do Departamento de Produção Vegetal da UNESP-FCAV, Câmpus de Jaboticabal-SP. Foram coletados 36 isolados de B. lactucae em regiões produtoras do Estado de São Paulo, que permitiram identificar três novos comportamentos do fungo, dando origem a três novas raças: SPBl:02 (63/31/19/00), SPBl:03 (63/63/19/00) e SPBl:04 (63/63/03/00). Os genes Dm-14, Dm- 17, Dm-18, Dm-36, Dm-37 e Dm-38 conferem resistência a essas novas raças identificadas. As linhagens JAB 4-2-4, JAB 4-13-7 e JAB 4-13-9 apresentaram os melhores resultados de padrão de plantas e com resistência a B. lactucae. Os genótipos ‘Amanda’, ‘Solaris’, ‘Vanda’, ‘Vera’, JAB 4-13-7 e ‘Malice’ apresentaram melhores desempenhos das características agronômicas no inverno. Para as condições de verão, JAB 4-13-7 e ‘Solaris’ apresentaram melhores desempenhos das características agronômicas. JAB 4-13-7 é o mais indicado para o cultivo de inverno pelo bom desempenho e resistência às raças de B. lactucae. ‘Malice’ apresentou o pior comportamento produtivo, apesar da resistência às quatro raças de B. lactucae avaliadas / The aims of the study were to verify the emergence of races of B. lactucae casual agent of downy mildew in the period from 2006 to 2007 in lettuce-producing region in the State of São Paulo; to obtain lines lettuce with resistance to race SPBI:01; the performance of JAB 4-13-7 before the commercials cultivars as an option to allow for the cultivation of this genotype for both evaluation periods, in the conditions of Jaboticabal and check the resistance of lettuce genotypes to four races of Bremia lactucae. Assessing the Potential of Hydroponic Farming to Reduce Food Imports: The Case of Lettuce Production in SwedenTaghizadeh, Rouzbeh January 2021 (has links)
Many studies have investigated the issue of feeding the world’s growing population from different perspectives. Conventional agricultural methods usually have small production yields while requiring large amounts of scarce and unevenly distributed resources such as farmland and water. Furthermore, although produced food may meet the demands, it is still inefficiently delivered among different regions. Urban agriculture has been proposed to produce food inside urban areas with higher yields and less resource consumption. Hydroponics is one of the urban farming methods that needs further research before being applied on large scales. This study aims to investigate the potential lettuce production using hydroponic systems to grow lettuce domestically in urban areas in Sweden to lower its lettuce import and motivate local food production to become self-sufficient. The study is performed using a literature review, theoretical design of a system, and scenario-based assessment of hydroponic lettuce production. The detailed analysis is performed via a case study of lettuce production in Uppsala municipality and two scenarios considering the reduction of lettuce import to Sweden and related challenges and opportunities of the designed system. The analyses demonstrate that the system paves the way to decrease lettuce import and dependence on trade. Therefore, applying the system increases self-sufficiency and decreases vulnerability to shocks. Nevertheless, the study does not necessarily address issues related to transportation and food miles. Moreover, finding suitable places to establish the system needs further studies.

Previous issue date: 2015-03-30 / A alface (Lactuca sativa L.) é a hortaliça folhosa mais produzida e consumida no Brasil, no
entanto, necessita receber nutrientes que permitem o seu desenvolvimento. Desta forma,
tornam-se necessários estudos sobre o uso de fontes orgânicas de adubo, como os
biofertilizantes, e sua influência sobre os aspectos morfofisiológicos e de qualidade. Neste
sentido, objetivou-se avaliar o efeito de diferentes concentrações de Spirufert® (fertilizante
orgânico simples classe “A”, marca Tamanduá) sob a produção, fisiologia e qualidade póscolheita da alface „Elba‟. O experimento foi realizado em duas etapas no Centro de Ciências e Tecnologia Agroalimentar, em Pombal-PB. Na primeira etapa, estudou-se em condições de campo, no delineamento em blocos casualizados, o efeito de seis concentrações do Spirufert ® (0, 1,5, 3,0, 4,5, 6,0 e 7,5 %) distribuídos em seis blocos, sob aspectos de produção e fisiologia das mudas de alface. Na segunda etapa, analisada em laboratório, adotou-se o delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em parcelas subdivididas no tempo, com seis repetições. As parcelas foram constituídas pelas seis concentrações de Spirufert®, aplicadas durante o cultivo da alface, e as subparcelas, pelas épocas de avaliação (por ocasião da colheita e 24h após a permanência das alfaces sob prateleira em ambiente climatizado a 26°C). Não houve efeito significativo das concentrações de Spirufert® para as variáveis, número de folhas (NF), massa fresca da parte aérea (MFPA), altura de plantas (AP) e diâmetro da copa (DC), massa seca (MSPA), umidade (UMPA), massa fresca do sistema radicular (MFSR), comprimento de raiz (CR), massa seca do sistema radicular (MSSR), massa fresca total da planta (MFTP) e massa seca total da planta (MSTP) da parte aérea das plantas de alface. Da mesma forma, as concentrações de Spirufert® testadas não alteram o teor de N, P, K e Na, fotossíntese, concentração interna de CO2 e condutância estomática da parte aérea da alface.
Houve efeito significativo entre as concentrações de Spirufert ® e as épocas de avaliação, no dia da colheita e 24h após a colheita da alface para a maioria das variáveis analisadas.
Constatou-se maior média de SS na dose 4,5% de Spirufert®, na ordem de 4,16%, porém
redução deste valor após 24h, em que se observou sinais de senescência nas alfaces,
constatados pelo aumento da acidez titulável. Na dose 4,5% de Spirufert®, também observouse uma boa relação SS/AT e elevado teor de clorofila total, mesmo após 24 h, fato que possibilitou a manutenção da coloração verde nas folhas, característica apreciada pelo consumidor, por ocasião da aquisição. / Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is the most widely produced and consumed leafy vegetable in
Brazil, however, needs to receive nutrients that allow its development. In this way, it becomes
necessary studies on the use of organic sources of fertilizer, such as biofertilizers, and its
influence on the morphophysiological aspects and quality. In this sense, the objective was to
evaluate the effect of different concentrations of Spirufert® (simple organic fertilizer class
"A", anteater brand) in the production, physiology and lettuce postharvest quality 'Elba'. The
experiment was conducted in two stages in the Science and Technology Centre Agrifood in
Pombal-PB. In the first stage, was studied under field conditions in a randomized block
design, the effect of six concentrations Spirufert ® (0, 1.5, 3.0, 4.5, 6.0 and 7.5%) distributed
in six blocks, under aspects of production and physiology of lettuce seedlings. In the second
stage, was analyzed in a laboratory, adopted a completely randomized design in split plot with
six replications. The plots were made by the six concentrations of Spirufert®, applied for the
cultivation of lettuce, and the subplots, the evaluation periods (at harvest and 24 hours after
the permanence of lettuce under shelf in air-conditioned environment at 26 ° C). There was no
significant effect of Spirufert® concentrations for the variables, number of leaves (NF), fresh
weight of aerial part (MFPA), plant height (PH) and crown diameter (DC), dry matter
(MSPA), humidity (umpa), fresh weight of the root system (MFSR), root length (CR), dry
mass of the root system (MSSR), fresh pasta total plant (MPTP) and total dry mass of the
plant (MSTP) of the aerial part lettuce plants. Similarly, the Spirufert® concentrations tested
did not alter the content of N, P, K and Na, photosynthesis, internal CO2 concentration and
stomatal conductance of the aerial part of lettuce. Significant differences were found between
the Spirufert ® concentrations and the evaluation periods, the day of harvest and 24h after the
lettuce harvest for most variables. It was found SS higher average dose 4.5% of Spirufert® in
the order of 4.16%, but this value reduction after 24 hours, it was observed that the lettuce
signs of senescence, evidenced by increased acidity. At a dose of 4.5% Spirufert® also there
was a good SS / TA ratio and high content of chlorophyll, even after 24 h, a fact that enabled
the maintenance of green color in the leaves, characteristic appreciated by the consumer on
the occasion the acquisition.

Livscykelanalys av det vertikala odlingssystemet Freja : En fallstudie i samarbete med Swegreen med fokus på att finna miljöpåverkans- hotspotsBrandel, Andrea, Borgström, Nora January 2024 (has links)
Livsmedelsindustrin är en bidragande faktor till klimatförändringarna, där innovativalösningar, såsom vertikal odling, kan appliceras för att främja en hållbar livsmedelsproduktion. Vertikala odlingssystem möjliggör urban inomhusodling,vertikalt i hyllplan, i kontrollerade miljöer med odlingskammare, belysningssystem samt vanligtvis jordfri odlingsmetod (t.ex. hydroponik), som är essentiella delar avsystemet. Temperatur, relativ fuktighet och artificiellt ljus regleras efter grödornas behov. Vid hydroponisk odling används odlingssubstrat såsom stenull istället för jord och växternas rötter är i konstant kontakt med det återcirkulerande vattnet i systemet, som förser växterna med näring. Tidigare livscykelanalyser av vertikala odlingssystem, om än ett begränsat antal, belyser elförbrukningen som den största bidragande faktorn till miljöpåverkan, samt att utbyte av olika material kan generera en lägre total miljöpåverkan. Examensarbetet syftar till att utföra en livscykelanalys på Swegreens vertikala odlingssystemet Freja, på ICA Maxi i Solna. Vidare syftar livscykelanalysen till att identifiera de faser och flöden som står för betydande miljöpåverkan, samt några förbättringsförslag. Det vertikala odlingssystemet antar perspektivet ‘vagga till användning’ under 30 år, exkluderande monterings- och sluthanteringsfasen. Användningsfasen innefattar sallatens livscykel från ‘vagga till grav’, exkluderande förtäringsfasen. Den funktionella enheten är 1 kg producerad ekbladssallat tillgänglig för konsumenter av klass 1. Data har inhämtats från både Swegreens digitaliserade data och från en tidigare studie utförd på Swegreens odlingssystem Saga. För bearbetning har programvaran SimaPro och databasen Ecoinvent 3.8 använts. Resultaten analyseras utifrån miljöpåverkanskategorierna ekotoxicitet (sötvatten), fossil resursanvändning, försurning, klimatförändringar, markanvändning, resursanvändning (mineraler och metaller), vattenanvändning och övergödning (sötvatten). Odlingsfasen för sallaten (innehållande elanvändning) är systemets främsta hotspot, följt av råmaterialsfasen för sallat, som orsakar störst miljöpåverkan för samtliga miljöpåverkanskategorier, förutom för resursanvändning (mineraler och metaller). Resultaten kan ej generaliseras eftersom de beror på val av funktionell enhet, systemgränser samt typ av data. Resultaten från känslighetsanalysen för energiproduktion och sluthantering tyder på att olika scenarion genererar lägst miljöpåverkan, beroende på vilka miljöpåverkanskategorier som anses mest relevanta. / The food industry is a contributing factor to climate change, where innovative solutions, such as vertical farming, can be applied to promote sustainable food production. Vertical farming systems enable urban indoor farming, vertically on shelves, in controlled environments with cultivation chambers, lighting systems and usually soil-free cultivation methods (e.g. hydroponics), that are essential parts of the system. Temperature, relative humidity and artificial light are regulated to satisfy the crops needs. Hydroponic cultivation utilizes growing mediums such as rock wool instead of soil and the roots of the plants are in constant contact with the recirculating water in the system, which provides the plants with nutrients. Previous life cycle assessments of vertical farming systems, although limited in numbers,highlight the electricity consumption as the largest contributing factor to the environmental impact, as well as replacing different materials for a lower environmental impact. This study aims to assess the environmental impacts and hot spots, through the use of life cycle assessment, on Swegreen's vertical farming system Freja, at ICA Maxi Solna. Furthermore the life cycle assessment aims to identify the phases and flows that accounts for significant environmental impact, as well as some suggestions for improvement. The vertical farming system applies the perspective of ‘cradle to use’for 30 years, not including the assembly or waste disposal phase. The use phase includes the life cycle of lettuce, from ‘cradle to grave’, not including the consumption phase. The functional unit is 1 kg of produced oak leaf lettuce, class 1,available to consumers. Data has been obtained from both Swegreen's digitized data and from a previous study conducted on Swegreen's farming system Saga. To process the data, the software SimaPro and the Ecoinvent 3.8 database was applied. Results are analyzed with regards to the environmental impact categories ecotoxicity (freshwater), fossil resource use, acidification, climate change, land use,resource use (minerals and metals), water use and eutrophication (freshwater).Results indicate that the lettuce cultivation phase (containing electricity use) is the main hotspot of the system, followed by the raw material phase for the lettuce. Aphase that also dominates in all environmental impact categories, except for resource use (minerals and metals). Results cannot be generalized since they dependon the choice of functional unit, system boundaries and type of data. The sensitivity analysis regarding the energy production and waste disposal suggests that different alternatives cause the lowest environmental impact, depending on which environmental impact categories are considered the most important.

The characteristics evaluated were height and plant diameter (cm), number of leaves (plant-1), fresh and dry weight of plants (g plant-1), and productivity (t ha-1). The experimental design was a randomized complete block in a factorial 2 x 4 with two lettuce cultivars (Angelina and Amelia) and four planting spacings (15 x 15 cm, 20 x 20 cm, 25 x 25 cm and 30 x 30 cm) and three replicates. Increased planting density resulted in higher productivity, although with lower average mass of plants. As características avaliadas foram altura (cm) e diâmetro de plantas (cm), número de folhas (planta-1), massa fresca e seca de plantas (g planta-1), e produtividade (t ha-1). O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos casualizados, no esquema fatorial 2 x 4, com duas cultivares de alface: (Angelina e Amélia) e quatro espaçamentos de plantio ( 15 x 15 cm, 20 x 20 cm, 25 x 25 cm e 30 x 30 cm), com três repetições. O aumento da densidade de plantio resultou em maior produtividade, embora com menor massa média de plantas.
