The Effect of Social Network Disapproval on Partners' Dating Relationship: The Romeo and Juliet Effect Revisited

Rawlins, Rebecca 01 May 2006 (has links)
By using online self-report data provided by 41 undergraduate students and their dating partner(N = 82), this study examined the potential curvilinear relationship between four social network sectors (own parents, own friends, partner's parents, and partner's friends) and romantic dating partners' relationship characteristics (perceptions of partner's agreeableness, love, satisfaction, commitment, and ambivalence). After controlling for the effects of age, relationship duration, and social network overlap, the hierarchical regression analyses provided little support for the Romeo and Juliet Effect, that is, the negative association between social network approval and characteristics of the dating relationship. Instead, the study mostly replicated the positive linear relationship of social network approval with various relationship characteristics reported in the literature on social network approval. A few curvilinear relationships between social network approval and characteristics emerging from the relationship with the dating partner were found, however. A curvilinear association existed between perceptions of the partners' agreeableness and perceived social network approval from own parents, own friends, and partner's parents.

Kofino kreivės parametrų ir mechaninių charakteristikų ryšio tyrimas būdingame intervale / Coffins curve parameters and mechanical characteristics connectivity test in typical range

Radžius, Linas 21 August 2013 (has links)
Performed literature review showed that any studies of examining materials in intrinsic range at room and elevated temperature haven’t been performed. That’s why, in this paper, analyzed data setted diffusion ranges-alloyed for structural steels and alloy structural steels weld (at room and elevated temperatures). Performed deformation, fatigue parameters and modified plasticity criteria value distribution by the normal law hypothesis testing, which showed that most of the fatigue plasticity criteria from modified data is distributed according to the normal principle. Offered analytical dependency ratios between the disintegrate curve parameters and modified plasticity criteria. Counted correlation analysis appropriate rejection of materials (in typical range). This means that in paper setted analytical relationships can be used for equipment preliminary calculation of durability and reliability.

Bestämning av lastvägar för en KL-träkonstruktion / Determination of loadpaths for a CLT structure

Halilovic, Ervin, Lotinac, Seid January 2020 (has links)
There are researches going on about timber as a construction material and how typical joints are affected by the loads. In this study an office building with a primary load- bearing structure of timber is being studied. The building has four floors and is located in Växjö. The aim and purpose of the study is to identify relevant load effects that are affecting the building. In order to calculate the horizontal load effects, a computer program called FEM- Design was used and the vertical load effects were calculated by hand. The results of the study show relevant load effect data that the building is being exposed to. The results also show that there is a linear relationship between the vertical load effects and the number of floors in the building. However, the relationship between the horizontal load effects and the number of floors is instead exponential. These relationships only apply to geographical locations where the snow load and the basic wind velocity are the same as in Växjö municipality.

Acute effects of physical exercise of different intensities on working memory : Masters thesis

Johansson, Ludwig January 2023 (has links)
Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate acute effects of physical exercise of different intensities on working memory. Method: Twelve young adults, 20-40 years, 8 males and 4 females passed the screening and participated in a randomized experimental crossover within-subject design study with three experimental conditions. Working memory was measured with n-back consisting of three difficulty levels.  Results: No significant interaction effect within subjects between the three different exercise intensity conditions for accuracy or response time was found. A significant main effect of time was detected for n-back response time, F(1,11)=40.2, p=<.001, reflecting an overall shorter response time after exercise compared to before, independent of exercise intensity condition. A two-way interaction effect on accuracy was found between n-back session 1 and 2 in the low fitness group.  Conclusions: The exercise intensity does not seem to matter for the improvement of working memory performance. However, participants response time was shown to be faster following any given exercise intensity.
