The Zoogeography of Marine TardigradaKaczmarek, Lukasz, Bartels, Paul J., Roszkowska, Milena, Nelson, Diane R. 01 January 2015 (has links)
This monograph describes the global records of marine water bears (Phylum Tardigrada). We provide a comprehensive list of marine tardigrades recorded from around the world, providing an up-to-date taxonomy and a complete bibliography accompanied by geographic co-ordinates, habitat, substrate and biogeographic comments. A link is provided to an on-line interactive map where all occurrences for each species are shown. In total we list 197 taxa and their 2240 records from 39 oceans and seas and 18 Major Fishing Areas (FAO). It is hoped this work will serve as a reference point and background for further zoogeographic and taxonomic studies on marine tardigrades.

Bakgrund: När ett organs förmåga att tillgodose kroppens behov avtar medför detta en påverkan på patientens dagliga liv vilket kräver kontakt med hälso- och sjukvården. Sjukdomsbilden är komplex och organsviktens behandling blir i slutändan en organtransplantation. Transplantationsprocessen är lång och utgörs av behandlingar och undersökningar som påverkar kroppen både fysiskt och psykiskt. Dock är efterfrågan på organ större än tillgången vilket medför väntan på obestämd tid för patienten. Syfte: Att beskriva patienters erfarenheter av att vänta på organtransplantation. Metod: Litteraturöversikt baserad på elva vetenskapliga artiklar med kvalitativ ansats och en artikel med kvantitativ ansats och en med mixad metod. Resultat: Ur analysen framkom tre kategorier; Livet känns ständigt osäkert, uthållig kamp, support av nära nätverk med nio underkategorier. Diskussion: Livet i väntan på organtransplantation innebär ett stort lidande och begräsningar i vardagen. Begränsningarna i vardagen skapar ett behov av stöd från patientens omgivning däribland sjuksköterskan. För att sjuksköterskan ska kunna stötta patienten under transplantation processen är det av stor vikt att förstå hur patienter upplever vardagen i väntan på organtransplantation. / Background: When an organ's ability to meet the body's needs decreases, this has an impact on the patient's daily life, which requires contact with the health service. The disease picture is complex and the treatment of organ failure eventually becomes an organ transplant. The transplant process is long and consists of treatments and screening that affect the body both physically and mentally. However, the demand of organs is bigger than the supply, which means waiting indefinitely for the patient. Aim: To describe patients' experiences of waiting for an organ transplant. Method: Literature-based study based on eleven scientific articles with a qualitative approach and one article with a quantitative approach and one with a mixed method. Results: The analysis revealed three categories; Life feels constantly insecure, enduring struggle, support from close networks with nine sub-categories. Discussion: Life while waiting for an organ transplant involves massive suffering and limitations in everyday life. The limitations of everyday life create a need of support from the patient's environment, including the nurse. In order for the nurse to be able to support the patient during the transplant process, it’s of big importance to understand how patients experience everyday life while waiting for an organ transplant.

Social Desirability and the Interpersonal Check ListWheeler, Deborah Jean 01 October 1972 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether number of responses is related to the social desirability and intensity of the test items. 61 Ss were administered the Interpersonal Check List and the Marlowe Crowne Social Desirability Scale. From the Interpersonal Check List number of responses, average item intensity and average item social desirability were calculated. Average item social desirability was calculated from individual item social desirability values obtained from ratings by another, similar S group. The results showed that number of responses is negatively correlated with average item social desirability and positively correlated with average item intensity, as predicted. Social desirability and intensity are negatively correlated. Data pertaining to the Marlowe Crowne scale, a measure of the tendency of an individual S to respond in a socially desirable manner, were inconclusive. It is concluded that a S giving a low number of responses on the Interpersonal Check List is probably trying to create a good impression by refusing to endorse extreme or undesirable test items.

In this thesis, we are introduced to terrain-style (on-spot) approach to teaching botany and dendrology subjects on high school or high vocational school. The main goal of this thesis was to point out interesting spots in the city of Děčín from the dendrological point of view and design optimal walk routes for them. In the introductory part, the terrain-style approach in teaching is described, including its various types, goals, specifics of preparation phase and possibilities of using mobile applications as a tool for botany and dendrology teaching. We also wrote up about the topic of including terrain-style teaching of botany and dendrology into curricular school documents. In next segment, we described interesting spots in the city of Děčín from the dendrological point of view, such as: Zámecké zahrady (Palace gardens), Mariánská louka (Mariánská meadow) or Lesopark Kvaderberg (Kvaderberg forrest park). Overall, we designed eight walk routes.

Pricing Strategies – In newly developed housing projectsGustavsson, Filip, Vahtola, Simon January 2014 (has links)
Earlier studies examining house pricing have mainly focused on the secondary market and have often overlooked the primary market and newly produced housing units. This paper studies the pricing strategies in the primary housing market, as that segment differs from the secondary market. By using data from one newly produced housing project, we are able to exclude a number of project-specific factors, as they are nearly identical for all observations. This allows us to focus on factors that are directly observable and require very little assessment or evaluation in our estimations of list prices, selling prices and selling times. The empirical results exhibit a close relationship between list- and selling prices, but a few factors differ significantly between the two. Such differences could indicate a misinterpretation of the market by the seller. The time-on-market model shows that a number of factors affect selling times as well. The results indicate a relationship between "mispriced" factors and their impact on the selling times, where "over-priced" factors seem to prolong the time-on-market and "under-priced" factors seem to shorten the time-on-market. By dividing the units into different price ranges, it becomes clear that high-priced housing is more difficult to price and take longer to sell. This relationship is strengthened by a degree-of-overpricing variable, which exhibits a positive sign in the time-on-market model. The effect is the strongest in low-priced units and not significant for higher-priced units. Other factors that affect pricing strategies require a broader discussion. Analogies from similar consumer good markets indicate that pricing strategies are dependent on the types of customers in the target groups as well as the stage in the project life-cycle.

The objective of this diploma thesis was to create suggestions of biological excursions for the pupils of the second grade of elementary schools in Ústí nad Labem region. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, excursion as the organisational form of education with the focus on the specifics of biological excursion including the educational goals and methods, is shortly introduced. In the following part, there is the characteristic of scientific disciplines and particular types of biological excursions. The practical part presents suggestions for three biological excursions. Each of the suggested subjects contains detailed manual for preparation and the process of excursion itself including the final part. Materials including the description of the route, information about the locality, worksheets including answers and additional information to each of the questions are also incorporated. Developing a Pedagogical Model for Twentieth Century Flute RepertoireMaker, Anne Marie Dearth 08 1900 (has links)
Modern flute pedagogy tends to focus on repertoire which utilizes or builds upon tonal and Romantic stylistic conventions, largely ignoring works that disregard or reject these conventions until later in student's education. This lack of stylistic diversity in commonly studied works from the first half of the twentieth century can be problematic when students are approaching avant-garde or modernist repertoire for the first time, as they are unfamiliar with the style and technical needs of the pieces. This dissertation provides a style guide and progressive curriculum for the avant-garde repertoire of the early- and mid-twentieth century to help students bridge the gap from commonly-studied early-twentieth century repertoire to Post-War Modernist works. The curriculum and style guide are accompanied by an overview of avant-garde musical styles prominent in Europe and American between the 1890s and 1970s, a discussion of the pedagogical challenges of avant-garde repertoire, and two performance guides for avant-garde pieces included in the curriculum, Diaphonic Suite No. 1 by Ruth Crawford and Variations for Solo Flute by Ursula Mamlok.

This study used personal interviews with Turkish female grocery shoppers to determine their shopping behaviors and attitudes. The sample was divided into two groups: deliberate and nondeliberate shoppers. The two groups were then compared in terms of their sociodemographic characteristics, importance placed on patronage motives, purchase location of selected grocery products, and their attitudinal orientations. Results are outlined and implications discussed.
