Convergências e divergências: revistas literárias em perspectiva / The similarities and differences: literary periodicals in perspective

Souza, Raquel dos Santos Madanêlo 05 June 2008 (has links)
A Águia was the mouthpiece of the \"Renascença Portuguesa\" and this journal´s second series was, at least in its first years, heavily influenced by Saudosismo, a tendency whose leader was Teixeira de Pascoaes. A Águia was the starting point for several other important periodicals, among them Seara Nova and Terra de Sol. This research focuses on the second series of A Águia and compares this important journal with Seara Nova and Terra de Sol. Identifying the similarities and differences in these three periodicals, we were able to probe into several issues concerning the relationship between Brazil and Portugal in the first decades of the 20th century: the concepts of nation imbedded in the discourses found in these periodicals; the idea of engagement among the intellectuals involved in these projects; and the relationship between Brazilian and Portuguese modernismos.

No. of bitstreams: 1 MariaSC.pdf: 599057 bytes, checksum: b990198f00705ee253bffc394c8f7413 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2008-09-20 / This work brings some reading about a few Norte-rio-grandenses writers collaborations published in literary papers which circulated during the third decade of the twentieth century in Brazil, in a way of enlarging the understanding of how the cultural debate was carried out in the years of the definition of the Brazilian Modernism, based on the relationships between literature and culture. Under the genres of prose and poetry, the selected textual collaborations for analysis have brought the traces of a small group of articulated authors in the Brazilian cultural scenery from the 1920 s, concerning the issues of the modern (linked to the modernist renovation) and the regional (under the aspects of the tradition). The set of the analyzed collaborations is representative of a modern-regional cultural practice marked by a tendency either local or cosmopolitan, thus, sharing a large dimension of the formation of the modern literary tradition, marked by different kinds of practices which give form to the project of a collective national awareness. The characterization of the existence of an intellectual field with big links, however with its own characteristics and a certain autonomy, which also gets integrated to the cultural debate of the so-called modernist years through the literary vehicles, gives to these intellectual people a co-participation in the renewing movement in the formation context of the brazilian cultural modernity of the early twentieth century / Esse trabalho traz uma leitura em torno de colabora??es de escritores norte-rio-grandenses publicadas em ve?culos liter?rios que circularam durante a terceira d?cada do s?culo XX, no Brasil, no sentido de ampliar o entendimento de como se deu o debate cultural nos anos de defini??o do modernismo brasileiro, com base nas rela??es ente literatura e cultura.

The reception of French literature in Italian literary periodicals of the second half of the XXth century (1944-1970)

Caristia, Stefania 14 September 2019 (has links)
Being periodicals a hybrid and fluid object, whose essential particularities are periodicity and the relationship with historical time, as well as being the polyphonic results of a collective creation, how would the study of the reception of a foreign literature in periodicals allow to overcome the distinctions in approaches between the aesthetics of reception and the history of reception, and between the notions of critical reception and creative reception? My research focuses on this question through the analysis of a heterogeneous corpus of thirty Italian literary and politicalliterary periodicals. Building on the notions of “transfer” and “networks” and by crossing quantitative and qualitative approaches in the analysis of French texts, translations and criticism edited in the reviews, my research aims at identifying reception’s places and modalities, its evolutions and invariants after World War II. The interdisciplinary point of view adopted, focusing on the phenomenon’s many aspects, takes a new look on the intermingled histories of French and Italian literature, as well as on the periodicals’ activity and forms of literary criticism. By questioning the mechanisms through which periodicals adapt foreign literature, I aim at surveying the relationships between the reception of literary works, the history of a national literary field and the extraliterary factors (history, politics, ideologies…).
