Ribeiro, Rondinele Aparecido. January 2019 (has links)
In the contemporary scenario, marked by mobility, the relations between literature and audiovisual have got great importance in the ideals of society as highlighted by Ivete Walty (2011). We can say that this link between the audiovisual and the literary is notable for a successful bond that has recently entered the academic world under new perspectives by eliminating the entrenched binarism as part of hierarchies employed to refer to this process. In this context, the production of Dias Gomes stands out. The playwright responsible for adopting a more everyday language in national television drama adopted the conception that his art should maintain a critic dialogue with reality. Thus, in this scenario treated by Walty (2011) as the era of mobility, we intend, from the phenomenon of adaptation, to point out how the protagonist character of the play O Berço do Herói (1965) transposed to the soap opera Roque Santeiro (1985). ). Our essay focuses on character transposition and aims to point out the conjunctions and disjunctions that occurred in this process. To this end, it makes use of Comparative Literature as a methodological framework due to its inter and transdisciplinary aspect, which conceives the relations between literature and other expressions as a legitimate form of cultural expression / Mestre

Poetics in the digital age : media-specific analysis of experimental poetry on and off the screen

Muller, Sandra, n/a January 2009 (has links)
As an alternative to print media, digital media make us newly aware of the materiality of experimental poetic texts and require us to account for their media-specific differences. Although already several theoretical models have been put forward to define these differences, so far few poems have been analyzed in terms of their media-specific textual materiality. This thesis seeks to fill this gap in the applied media-specific analysis of experimental poetry. It combines traditional close reading with a media-specific approach in order to investigate the relationship between the physical characteristics and signifying strategies of four experimental poetic texts in various digital and non-digital media. It critically interrogates the specific use of the given medium in each poem, and illustrates that their respective textual materiality cannot be specified in advance based on general assumptions concerning the medium in question. A digital poem is not inherently more innovative than a non-digital poem. Rather, a poem is perceived as innovative if it resists conventional reading strategies by establishing a particularly complex, dynamic, and effectively anomalous sense of textual materiality, which necessarily only emerges from the direct interplay among text, object, and reader.

Bertanha, Miraní 03 June 2013 (has links)
The research about technology and culture makes possible discussions and reflections about society and ways of life. This dissertation intents, through children's literature, to advance the discussion of technology and culture as well as to question the role historically assumed by gender. Through works of Brazilian teenager literature produced between the years 1999 and 2010, we intend to raise possible ways of manifestation of technology in contemporary production and to defend its value as a literary production. Propose the teenager literature as background for academic discussions can be rather arduous, especially because the low value granted to the gender by literary criticism. The dialogue between technology and culture, in turn, is still too little known even in the interdisciplinary field of Science, Technology and Society. As our theoretical basis we resorted to the Cultural Materialism, presented by Raymond Williams.

American Discourses of Acceleration and the Emergence of an Alternate Practice of Modern American Prose Writing in the 1920s

Fehlhaber, Svenja 19 August 2019 (has links)
Diese Praxis wird exemplarisch in Waldo Franks City Block (1922), Nathan Aschs The Office (1925) und Mary Bordens Flamingo or the American Tower (1927) herausgearbeitet.

Interactive austen: an analysis of the Lizzie Bennet diaries and the postmodern audience

Unknown Date (has links)
The aim of this study is to reveal how LBD adheres to postmodern tenets while also being ultimately suspicious of these principles. This suspicion of postmodern principles is reflected in the interaction between the main subject of the videos, Lizzie Bennet, and the audience. This examination invokes the questions of when, where, and how the audience experiences LBD. This illuminates the manner in which LBD functions as a postmodern literary text and how this text is critical of its digital composition. / Includes bibliography. / Thesis (M.A.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2014. / FAU Electronic Theses and Dissertations Collection
