Ukhu pacha and La historia de nosotros : electroacoustic music composition portfolio

Moncada, Jorge Gregorio García January 2013 (has links)
This composition portfolio comprises two large musical works which explore non-Western musical instruments in electroacoustic music contexts. The fututos and the maguaré, two fundamental signalling and ritual instruments from the Latin American highlands and rain forests, reside in the cultural collective memory of two native nations as paramount archetypal sounds. Cultural values around the instruments such as symbology and ritual functions were analysed whilst constructing the contextual soundworld that hosts the material within the works. Two large electroacoustic works, ukhu pacha and La historia de nosotros, are based on archaeological, historical, literary and mythological sources from different South American historical and geographical locations. All sharing octophonic setups as a common multichannel format, the works display a variety of media configurations, including works for fixed audio media, mixed and instruments with live electronics. The accompanying commentary on the pieces focuses on a discussion of their musical and referential relation to their sources. Likewise, detailed musical analysis of certain compositional strategies is presented.

Studies in instrumentation and orchestration and in the recontextualisation of diatonic pitch materials (Portfolio of Compositions)

Harman, Chris Paul January 2012 (has links)
The present document examines eight musical works for various instruments and ensembles, composed between 2007 and 2011. Brief summaries of each work’s program are followed by discussions of instrumentation and orchestration, and analysis of pitch organization. Discussions of instrumentation and orchestration explore the composer’s approach to diversification of instrumental ensembles by the inclusion of non-orchestral instruments, and redefinition of traditional hierarchies among instruments in a standard ensemble or orchestral setting. Analyses of pitch organization detail various ways in which the composer renders diatonic musical lines atonal, or situates diatonic pitch materials in contexts of greater chromaticism.

Nanno, Simon, Sargun Dawod, Zaya January 2011 (has links)
I arbetet ingår även två Guider. / The report is about a thesis created by two students at Mälardalen University in Västerås. The thesis is to develop and construct a document that contains EASA Part M Section A plus the associated AMC. The goal is to create an easy document to work with by navigating through hyperlinks and using keyboard shortcut in the PDF program and include paraphrase of reasons behind the changes made to Regulation 2024/2003. The work also includes two guides. The first one is about guidance for how to update the main document (EASA Part M and associated AMC) and the second one is a presentation that helps you to find/explore the website of EASA.   The users of this document are students, and possibly airlines therefore the focus is to create an educational document. Which file type should document be presented in, which regulations shall be included in the document, are other problems that we have deal with in the thesis. Our method is divided in "three-steps": 1 data collection from the Internet, 2 text processing using Microsoft Office 2007 and 3 exporting the documents in PDF format which is also generated by the Microsoft Office 2007. The result became a well structured document that compiles EASA Part M and the associated AMC. The document is simpler, making it also easier to understand by the user. We wish that you read on and take advantage of this thesis.

Risk Management in M-Commerce projects : A Case Study of M-Commerce project in Trollhättan

Meng, Liuchun January 2012 (has links)
Due to its inherent characteristics such as ubiquity, personalization, flexibility, and dissemination, mobile commerce promises business unprecedented market potential, greater productivity and higher profitability. With this in mind, it is perhaps not surprising that mobile commerce is growing much faster than its fixed counterpart. Unlike e-commerce, m-commerce is personalized and there is a need for a novel approach to evaluating risk management in m-commerce projects. Result in the increase of risks management in m-commerce. Besides the business core activities, the increased use of derivative products by both financial and non-financial institutions and recent events or scandals continue to demonstrate the need for enhanced standards and processes of control over risk. In this thesis, I attempt to introduce a new method for performing risk analysis studies by effectively utilizing the existing risk management process framework with adoptions of analysis approach in m-commerce projects. It will provide a sequencing of the core part of the risk management process into sub-processes for identify context, identify risks, analyse risks, evaluate risks and treat risks in different respects of m-commerce. Moreover, it seems that the integration of risk management process and some analysis method indeed provided very useful new insights. To be able to fulfil the purpose of study, qualitative research method was considered, using an inductive approach of a single case study of m-commerce project in Trollhättan with m-commerce related research literature and scenario for development of restaurant in university west as source of data. Based on the analysis, a number of observations were put forward in the conclusion. To begin with the strategy in relation to management structure will be considered. In addition, the role of information technology security is considered in risk management. Meanwhile, the good governance and risk management according to m-commerce application in risk management system and corporate governance are included in the discussion. In attempt of risk management in the m-commerce projects, this thesis examines the issues in one case of m-commerce project in Trollhättan not only information secure issues and some technical viewpoints in m-commerce project but also from the project management's perspective. The contribution of the thesis will be introducing a new framework/module for performing a risk analysis studies in m-commerce projects domain and a proposal for risk management in the m-commerce projects case of Trollhättan.

The M-19 : Analysis of the causes that led this revolutionary movement to lay down arms and join the political life of the country

Messaoudi Rodriguez, Maria Yolanda January 2011 (has links)

Fabrication and Analysis of M-plane GaN-based Light-Emitting Diodes

Liang, Ting-wei 22 August 2010 (has links)
In this thesis, we will try to grow m-plane InGaN blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and discuss the characteristics. First, pure m-plane GaN on the m-sapphire grown by plasma assisted molecular beam epitaxy (PAMBE) had been achieved. ¢½/¢» ratio and the growth temperature are the most important factors in the growth sequence. M-GaN film with better crystal quality was grown successfully by tuning these two factors. Indium composition in the InGaN layer is an important issue in the growth of blue LEDs; In/Ga ratio could affect the bandgap i.e. the target wavelength of a LED. We have to regard the crystal quality and the target wavelength of the InGaN layer in growth procedure. Structural properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD). XRD measurements showed that the crystal orientation of GaN films was pure m-plane. From cathodoluminescence (CL) spectra, the luminescence wavelength of InGaN layer is in the blue-light range. The crysatalline of m-plane InGaN blue LEDs were analyzed by XRD and Electron Back-Scattered Diffraction (EBSD). Electroluminescence (EL) was measured under the different inject current conditions; the polarization of EL was also measured. Moreover, the current-voltage curve and current-output curve were carried out.
