Mocenská nerovnováha v pečujících rodinách / Power imbalance in caring families

Neubauerová, Eva January 2015 (has links)
Diploma thesis The power imbalance in caring families deals with power dynamics in the caregiving situation, where mother is a care receiver and her own daughter is caregiver. The theoretical part conceptualizes terms such as the power, the power imbalance, role reversal, caregiver, care receiver and ambivalence. The practical part is presented with its own qualitative survey with caregivers. The work confirms that the factors that significantly affect the success of care are (by caring daughter) options for care giving and degree of caring tie, and (by care receiving mother) ability to give up part of their autonomy, to assess properly the subjective and objective assistance needs and satisfaction with quality and quantity of social ties. The work also reveals some of the mechanisms of power dynamics within families; for example, the ways in which the phase of role reversal is reflected in mutual negotiation, persuasion in dimension, feelings of interaction, advocacy and conflict resolution. It turned out that a higher intergenerational power has actor with incomplete role reversal. Phase of role reversal showed to be a key factor in sorting manifestations of power dynamics in caregiving families. The main outcome of this work is the typology of strategies for power influence of caregivers and...

Nekonvenční síla malých států: srovnávací případová studie Litvy a Tchaj-wanu (ROC) / Unconventional power of small states: a comparative case study of Lithuania and Taiwan (ROC)

Eidėjūtė, Gabrielė January 2021 (has links)
CHARLES UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES Institute of Political Studies Department of Geopolitical Studies Master's Thesis Unconventional power of small states: a comparative case study of Lithuania and Taiwan (ROC) Abstract: The hypotheses of the leading international relations theories, especially realism, face fundamental criticism for not explaining the behavior of some small states, who lack material power but play an effective and influential role in the international arena. To fill in this oversight, the contemporary discourse of small states challenges the resource-based understandings of power and seeks new avenues to explain how some small states succeed in "punching above their weight." Most recently, Dr. Tom Long (2017) synthesized previous academic researches and proposed that the small state's power can be best understood as originating in three categories: derivative, collective, and particular-intrinsic. This thesis aims to contribute to the argument that small states can possess unconventional power to advance their influence and achieve their national interests. It uses Dr. Tom Long's three categories of unconventional power, as a basis for the comparative case study of Taiwan and Lithuania - two small states that have notoriously challenge the notion of "how a small state should...

Modélisation à haut niveau de systèmes hétérogènes, interfaçage analogique /numérique / High level modeling of heterogeneous systems, analog/digital interfacing.

Cenni, Fabio 06 April 2012 (has links)
The thesis objective is the modeling of heterogeneous systems. Such systems integrate different physical domains (mechanical, chemical, optical or magnetic) therefore integrate analog and mixed- signal (AMS) parts. The aim is to provide a methodology based on high-level modeling for assisting both the design and the verification of AMS systems. A study on different techniques for extracting behavioral models of analog devices at different abstraction levels and computational weights is presented. Three approaches are identified and regrouped in three techniques. These techniques have been validated through the virtual prototyping of different applications issued from different domains: a low noise amplifier (LNA), a surface acoustic wave-based (SAW) chemical sensor, a CMOS video sensor with models developed at different abstraction levels and their integration within an industrial platform. The flows developed are based on the AMS extensions of the SystemC (IEEE 1666) standard but the methodologies can be implemented using other Analog Hardware Description Languages (VHDL-AMS, Verilog-AMS) typically used for mixed-signal microelectronics design.

Pomník jako zhmotnění paměti ve vztahu k současné generaci a roli médií / Monument as the materialization of memory in relation to the current generation and the role of the media

Mrázková, Simona January 2016 (has links)
The thesis "Monument as the materialization of memory in relation to the current generation and the role of the media" is devoted to the analysis of media discourse of contemporary memorials. The discourse of contemporary memorials is represented in the thesis by media coverage in the Czech periodical printed media regarding to two memorials installed in the Czech Republic. The first is a monument of General Patton in Pilsen and the second is a monument of the Czechoslovak RAF aviators in Prague - Klárov. Examined media coverage related to memorial scandal in Deník VLP, Mladá fronta DNES, Lidové noviny, Blesk, Metro, Haló noviny and Právo belong to the years: 2005, 2009, 2010, 2014 and 2015. The form of contemporary memorial discourse was examined with the help of multiple methods including quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis represented by textual and argumentative analysis. Based on the combination of the mentioned methods basic form of the discourse of contemporary memorials was described with the main focus on media communication containing the topic of foreign affairs and the concept of memory. For this purpose, Marshall McLuhan's perspective was used, which describes the media exposure of artistic interpretation, or the concept of memory as described by Pierre Nora. The various...

Konvent dominikánek na Starém Městě pražském v raném novověku. Ženská řeholní komunita a její vztahy k diecézním, řádovým a světským autoritám. / The convent of dominican sisters in The Old Town of Prague in the early modern era. The woman monastic community and its relations to the diocesan, religious and temporal authorities.

Walter, Pavel January 2015 (has links)
The diploma thesis describes the development of St. Anne and St. Lawrence Dominican convents in The Old Town of Prague during early modern period (mainly in the 17th and the 18th centuries). Both the indoor life and contacts with outside world are included in the description. Only three topics of the above-mentioned specialization could be seamlessly elaborated due to fragmentary sources. The introduction and first three chapters constitute a summary of sources and literature. Furthermore, they chronologically depict the history of the Dominican order and the particular convents. The fourth chapter deals with the relationship between the nuns and their dependants in the municipality of Radlice. The system of servile taxes withdrawals and visitations of the monastic farms are emphasized. The chapter finally records a concrete discord between the convent and Barbora Wlaška in the 16th century. The fifth chapter focuses on baroque sermon that were held during ceremonies of admission aspirants among the other nuns. The preachments were analyzed in light of their contents and spiritual thoughts. The last chapter studies the performance of the archiepiscopal authority to the convents in the 18th century and the relationships between the Dominican nuns and aristocratic families or bourgeoisie in the...

Koučink jako nástroj sociální práce a jeho etické aspekty ve vztahu k jednotlivci / Coaching as social work tool and its ethical aspects in relationship to individuals

VÁGAIOVÁ, Kateřina January 2014 (has links)
The thesis deals with coaching as social work tool and with its ethical aspects in relationship to individual. It is divided into three parts. In the first part, I define the coaching itself, as well as its solution and its types. I also distinguish the coaching from different types of social work, such as counselling and therapy; then I set the coaching into social work helping scope. The second part is focused on the relationship between the client and the helping worker while using coaching. Here I present the relationship paradigms, the helping worker aspect (with emphasis on competence and personal disposition) and the client aspect (with focus on his conception and his inner world). This part deals with the topic of help and control as well. In the third part I look into ethical aspects that are crucial in the client's and worker's relationship, aspects that follow from the definition of this relationship from the second part of the thesis, such as freedom, dignity, respect, autonomy, self-determination, worker's personality, preferences, responsibility, conscience and power.
