Foucaultovo Dohlížet a trestat ve vybraných aspektech genderové reality show Výměna manželek / Foucaultian Discipline and Punish in selected aspects of gender reality show Wife Swap

Vosobová, Michaela January 2012 (has links)
This thesis aims to attempt to clarify whether the principle of TV reality shows in general and also specific gender reality show Wife Swap could be a variation of the modern technologies of discipline or a special case of media confession which influences the audience through a TV reality show while presenting the positive norms. Furthermore, based on discourse analysis of interviews with various actors and actress of selected TV Part of Wife Swap it aims to understand and uncover their motivation to participate in this gender reality show, as well as to analyze strong attitude of the audience towards the controversial name of this reality show. The theoretical basis of the work are based on the idea of Foucault new technologies of discipline (the Panopticon principle), internalization of norms and the concept of pastoral power, and Judith Butler's concept of formation of repetitive body. In the end, the thesis considers not only the identified discourses that constitute the motivation of participants of this television gender show, but also a discussion of the research possibilities and limits in an environment that is defined by dominant discursive dichotomies.

Nation Branding jako nástroj měkké moci státu. Případ Německa. / Nation branding as a soft power building tool : the case of Germany

Felknerová, Petra January 2014 (has links)
This master thesis deals with the concept of nation branding and its application in German domestic and foreign policy as a soft power building tool. Nation branding is quite a new concept in the international relations that extends into many fields like public diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, marketing or public relations. With its assistance, states create a positive image which they promote to the foreign public in order to become more attractive and competitive at the international level. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part creates a theoretical background for the analysis. It concentrates on defining the position of nation branding in the field of international relations and introduces the theory of competitive identity. The second part analyses the German nation image building while using the theory of competitive identity. Germany manages its image in two ways - via nation branding campaigns and via six dimensions of its competitive identity. Both ways as well as the German brand as a whole are properly analyzed and simultaneously their strengths and weaknesses are identified. The final part of the thesis summarizes the most important findings and draws the conclusion.

Království Vizigótů: Podmínky a aspekty získání královské moci / Kingdom of the Visigoths: Terms and Aspects of Takeover of the Royal Power

Mestek, Oto January 2021 (has links)
Gothic tribes settled on the lower Danube and on the northern shore of the Black Sea entered in the year 376 the territory of the Roman Empire. This was followed by fierce fighting and migration of the Goths, who passed through the Balkans and Italy and reached Aquitaine in 413, where they settled temporarily. Here, originally various Gothic groups were formed into the one tribe gens, which we now call Visigoths. The pressure of the Franks from the north forced the Visigoths to leave Aquitaine at the beginning of the 6th century and move on to the Iberian Peninsula. Here the Visigoths established their own Kingdom of Toledo. Because the Visigoths at the time of their formation were not a homogeneous group, but rather a lose conglomerate of various barbarian groups and military units, they had no tradition of appointing their rulers. For this reason, they created the mechanism of the royal elections. Vallia was the first elected king in 415. During Visigothic history, a sequence of elected kings was disrupted several times by attempts of some kings to enforce a hereditary monarchy. This led in 633 to the enactment of the royal elections at the 4th Council of Toledo. Other ecclesiastical councils further improved the principles of election. The work will focus on the development of the Visigothic...

Hranice moci. Etika, moc a korupce / Limits of power. Ethics, power and corruption.

Fišera, Vladimír January 2018 (has links)
The problem of Czech society today is foremost the part of corruption that can be labeled as systemic, large scale or political corruption; and its causes, demonstrations, and therefore also possible solutions differ significantly from those for individual bribery. The public still holds very distorted opinions about the causes and therefore also possible solutions of large scale corruption. The most significant is the idea of political corruption as a personal ethical failure of an individual. The solution to this is their replacement. However, past experiences prove that political corruption is a systemic problem and replacement of individuals does not bring a substantial change. To understand how large scale political corruption functions, it is important to know the point of view of politicians who are its direct participants or encounter it. It is established that a significant motivational factor for corruption is an effort of politicians to keep their power and prestige, and with it the need of raising funds for re- election. Key words: corruption, political corruption, systemic corruption, power, status, prestige

High-Level CSP Model Compiler for FPGAs

Asthana, Rohit Mohan 19 January 2011 (has links)
The ever-growing competition in current electronics industry has resulted in stringent time-to-market goals and reduced design time available to engineers. Lesser design time has subsequently raised a need for high-level synthesis design methodologies that raise the design to a higher level of abstraction. Higher level of abstraction helps in increasing the predictability and productivity of the design and reduce the number of bugs due to human-error. It also enables the designer to try out dierent optimization strategies early in the design stage. In-spite of all these advantages, high-level synthesis design methodologies have not gained much popularity in the mainstream design flow mainly because of the reasons like lack of readability and reliability of the generated register transfer level (RTL) code. The compiler framework presented in this thesis allows the user to draw high-level graphical models of the system. The compiler translates these models into synthesizeable RTL Verilog designs that exhibit their desired functionality following communicating sequential processes (CSP) model of computation. CSP model of computation introduces a good handshaking mechanism between different components in the design that makes designs less prone to timing violations during implementation and bottlenecks while in actual operation. / Master of Science

Kritická mediální pedagogika - teoretická východiska a přínos pro mediální výchovu / Critical media pedagogy - theoretical underpinning and contribution to media education

Valenta, Petr January 2016 (has links)
Critical media pedagogy - theoretical underpinnigs and contribution to media education Dissertation Mgr. Petr Valenta Keywords critical theory, critical media pedagogy, media literacy, critical pedagogy, media, ideology, discourse, power, symbolic power, knowledge Abstract The theoretical dissertation analyzes the traditional media education model issues, which derives from the orientation of media literacy on the dominant paradigm of media effects research in media studies. Media education takes the "media effects concept" and uses it to organize its own teaching practice. Theoretical dependence on media studies and the concept media effects leads media education to protectionism and normativity, which is reflected in the directive establishment of knowledge, skills and values pupils may acquire. This situation has negative effect on efforts of developing critical media thinking as independent on social authorities. Moreover, media education potentially reproduces the dominant modes of knowledge about media and society, without revealing them as social constructions. The theoretical basis for changing the paradigm of media education to become more critical and transformative practice able to form the student's personality as an autonomous, critical- thinking and committed citizen is presented in the second...

Způsoby re-prezentace 50. let 20. století v současné české literatuře / Representations of the Czech Historical Era of 1950s in Contemporary Czech Literature

Dobrý, Marek January 2011 (has links)
The thesis deals with the literary production reflecting the 1950s in Czechoslovakia in terms of books published within the years 2000 to 2010. Based on the dominant discourse's analysis, reflection of this period in print media compares the way discourse penetrates the literary speech and also the way of their contrast. The author, giving the wide cross-section of released books, tries to maintain the opinion that projection of the 1950s is happening thanks to a myth created contrary to the construction myth. For this reason the literary speech is being called the re-mythologization reflection of the 1950s. Another goal of this work is to find neuralgic points of the myth and to decode their function - whether ideological or social. During the mapping of the books concerning in 1950s the attentions is paid to the texts that try to disturb the re-mythologization dominant literary speech described in detail. In connection with a slight representation of resembling texts author attempts to discover the causes of the non-existent need to see a different point of view in history through literature. Key words: 1950s, literary speech, discourse, myth, power, ideology, function

Moc jako aspekt terapeutického vztahu v rámci gestalt přístupu / Power as an Aspect of an Therapeutical Relationship on the Framework of the Gestalt Approach

Krčmářová, Barbora January 2013 (has links)
The diploma thesis is focused on a phenomenon of power in therapy relationship in way of Gestalt approach. It's based on a relationship concept between psychotherapist and client which is a fundamental factor in psychoteraphy change. The power is perceived in accordance with Michela Foucalt's theory as a natural and necessary relational phenomenon. In Gestalt approach intentions we pursue ways, in which the psychoterapist is aware his power, how he gets in touch and how he deals with it. Diploma thesis has got a theoretical empirical character, the theoretical part sumarizes knowledge about power, relationship like a base of helping professions work and basic knowledge from Gestalt therapy field. Empirical part uses design of qualitative metodology. We got data about Gestalt therapists' attitudes, perception and understanding of the power phenomenon. These gained data are processed by the grounded theory method and compared with other data. Next possibilities of broadening gained informations and working with them in therapy field are mentioned in the conclusion. Our results broaden knowledge about therapy relationship characteristics and bring an inspiration for psychotherapy training attenders, practising therapists and other helping professionals.
