Ledarskapets påverkan på anställdas motivation

Snow, Charlotte, Karlsson, Kajsa January 2015 (has links)

Näslund, Elin, Bengtsson Svärd, Camilla January 2012 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate students' motivation and metacognitive knowledge in mathematics. We have investigated the attitude students in first grade in high school have towards mathematics, students' awareness of how they learn mathematics best, and how students view their learning and what they do to affect their learning. In our study we also analyzed the differences or similarities between boys and girls and between students at a vocational program or an academic program in high school. We have used quantitative research methods and structured surveys. Conclusions and results we have been able to draw is that the attitude towards mathematics as a subject is negative and the study's results indicate that there are no major differences between students in vocational and academic programs.

Magnusson, Joel January 2013 (has links)
My purpose for this essay is to examine what factors are considered to have high influence on motivation to study and what measures can be taken to enhance student’s motivation to study from a student perspective.   The main source of theory for this study has been the classification of motivational factors that has been based on Herzberg’s twofactortheory with complementary theoretical sources.   The study is based around two research methods, one survey together with complementary student interviews. The empirical material consists of 118 completed surveys together with nine student interviews.   The study’s results have found that students find the main source of rising motivational level originates from the professional role of the teacher. Additionally the students find the main source of subsiding motivational level originate from rising level of stress and uninspiring teachers. Furthermore the study has found possible improving measures in lacking personnel, an working environment focused on studies and an education oriented on future career preferences.

An economic analysis of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in the supply of health care

Feng, Yan January 2010 (has links)
The government uses a range of mechanisms to mitigate market failure in the provision of health care in the United Kingdom. Explicit financial incentives are increasingly used within the UK. However, there is some evidence that providing explicit incentives may not have the desired effect on the supply of healthcare as healthcare professionals are intrinsically motivated. This thesis reviews the literature defining and measuring intrinsic motivation in economics. It then presents a developed theoretical model of work motivation among healthcare providers which informs the empirical analysis. This thesis estimates four empirical applications to test the theoretical model of intrinsic motivation. Two applications use the British Quarterly Labour Force Survey data to examine: 1) differences in the motivation structure of employees in caring public sector from employees in other employment sectors, 2) the impact of income and employment sector on intrinsic motivation, and 3) the reason for the high levels of intrinsic motivation for employees in the caring public sector. The other two empirical works explore how the changes of financial incentives under Quality and Outcomes Framework have affected Scottish General Practitioners’ intrinsic motivation. The findings of this thesis have important policy implications. Mainly, they suggest that policy makers should be careful when using financial incentives to motivate healthcare professionals, as the unintended impact on intrinsic motivation may undermine the effectiveness of the policy.

Dajana, Sestic, Millaray, Navarrete January 2014 (has links)

How can the Relationship be a Motivator? : A qualitative study of Motivation towards Crowdsourcing

Karlsson, Malin, Martinsson, Åsa January 2014 (has links)
Background: Successful crowdsourcing cannot be accomplished without a motivated community of participants. Hence, organisations need to use incentives that motivate the crowd to participate in crowdsourcing processes. Further, maintaining a working relationship between the organisation and the crowd throughout the duration of a project is a challenge with crowdsourcing. Thus, it creates difficulties in monitoring the quality of the outcome, which is the motivator for the organisation. However, previous studies have not covered the area of how the relationship between the organisation and the crowd influence their motivation. Purpose: Describe how motivation is influenced by the relationship between an organisation and the crowd in a crowdsourcing process.  Research questions: RQ1: How do an organisation and a crowd describe the relationship during the crowdsourcing process? RQ2: How do an organisation and a crowd describe their motivation during the crowdsourcing process? RQ3: How do the relationship between an organisation and a crowd influence motivation during the crowdsourcing process? Methodology: A single embedded case study, semi-structured interviews Conclusion: It is highly important that a company and a crowd have a good relationship in crowdsourcing, because it goes hand in hand with having a high motivation. It ought to be hard to state which term that influences the other, if it is the relationship that influences the motivation or if it is the motivation that influences the relationship. Thus, the result of this thesis explains that the relation between them is dynamic.

Pobric, Dzenana January 2014 (has links)
