Study on Architecture-Oriented Radar Maintenance and Operation Management Model

Lu, Chih-Hsien 21 December 2011 (has links)
Taiwan Island is surrounded by seas in all directions of its territory. Because of the tortuous coast, harbors and bays, in addition to the government¡¦s policies to mainland China opening gradually, the piecemeal activities of smuggling, illegal immigrations and so on in the early period have become organizational, grouped large-scale ones today. This transition has influenced national security and socially public order. Coast Guard Administration has responsibilities for prevention from smuggling, illegal immigration and attacking crimes. Hence, being the front line staff for law enforcement should know how to apply and build all kinds of high-tech equipment and systems well in order to promote the effectiveness of investigation, surveillance, law enforcement efficiently. Radar system is an efficient instrument for the investigation of smuggling, search and rescue and the defense of national marine right. It can provide the movement of certain targets on seas in twenty-four hours to the staff on duty all day who may ascertain some suspicious scenarios as soon as possible and adopt the way of deploying and placing armed force in advance to keep sea areas in safety. The smooth and reliability of maintaining for radar system both influence on the staff who try to control dynamic targets directly and the dispatch for all subordinate units¡¦ maneuverable manpower indirectly at the same time. Architecture-Oriented Coast Guard Radar Maintenance and Operation Management Model (abbreviated as AORMOMM below) addressed in this study is a practical mold which consists of six fundamental diagrams in accordance to the structure-behavior coalescence (SBC) architecture. It demonstrates multiple perspectives on the maintenance of radar system completely. AORMOMM integrally describes the structure and behavior and helps all related supervisors and employees in an organization keep whole perspectives well for the maintenance and operation of radar system through this model. Because we have already integrated the organization of managing and operating radar system, information systems and the processes of operation into AORMOMM, exercising whom will assist all departments in an organization to communicate with each other in common consensuses efficiently in their work and makes the transmission of information more transparently then help employees obtain better efforts when learning how to deal with their affairs. In addition, taking advantage of AORMOMM to maintain and manage will make governmental organizations gain better qualities when putting the maintenance and operation of radar system into practice.

Study on Architecture-Oriented Auto Electronic Products Manufacturing Quality Management Model

Su, Yuan-ta 11 June 2012 (has links)
In 1950, JUSE invited Dr. Deming, the father of the third industrial revolution, to give a lecture in Japan and he brought up using P-D-C-A to enhance quality in every field. Thereafter, the issue of quality management has become an important part in process control. As an extension of time, flaws and deficiencies are found and revised repeatedly in the original process. After the process becomes more and more complicated and troublesome, not only the effectiveness loses but also the mismanagement always occurs. In such situation, quality management loses its spirit and goal completely. The development of automobile industry in Taiwan has been more than fifty years. Auto manufacturer has promoted the sales of Taiwan car to mainland China successfully and advanced to the world. Auto electronic products manufacturer provides auto manufacturers the electronic products and installation services. Facing outer competition and cooperation manufacture¡¦s requisition for enhancing service quality, it has to made effort to enhance the quality management. However, lots of administrative works which are increased in order to improve the processes of inspection. And many documents of quality inspection increase the complication of procedure and invisible costs such as time and manpower. This study obtains the spirit and goal of quality management via an architecture-oriented auto electronic products manufacturing quality management model (AOAEPMQMM) which uses the structure-behavior coalescence (SBC) methodology. AOAEPMQMM constructs the architecture of quality management by using architecture hierarchy diagram, framework diagram, component operation diagram, component connection diagram, structure-behavior coalescence diagram, and interaction flow diagram. Advantages of AOAEPMQMM are: 1) every staff in company easily understand and react to the relatedness of every unit and corresponding information, 2) achieving organization flattening by reducing unit stratum in quality management and cutting down the nonessential manpower, cost and time, 3) quality management is executed effectively, meanwhile, the organization cost to building company will be reduced in order to enhance the profit, and 4) gaining the auto manufacturer¡¦s satisfaction.

Study on Architecture-Oriented Network Product Business Management Model

Kung, Hsing-Yu 19 June 2012 (has links)
The possibility of integrating the ¡§cloud¡¨ concept with web-based services such as email, photo albums, and file storage not only provides web users a better experience, but expands the market for online sales as well. However, as estimated profits climb, difficulties also rises: an increase on raw material costs, strengthened environmental policies, and competition between service providers that makes it even harder to run a business. While these problems are often the main focus of business operation and management, pressure resulting from challenges should not blur the importance of business process reengineering. This study aims to construct an architecture-oriented model for the purpose of network product operational management. This model will provide a detailed description of the components and component operations of the network product business organization, the network product business system, and the relationship between information flow, and the coalescence and interaction of the organization and system. This study will also analyze and compare, in terms of organization, system, and behavior, both the non architecture-oriented and architecture-oriented, on the network product business management. In this study, the architecture-oriented network product business management model (AONPBMM) is based on the theory and application of enterprise architecture; in addition, the model includes the concept of structure-behavior coalescence architecture (SBC architecture) and the six fundamental diagrams. AONPBMM has the advantage of displaying lucidly the structure and operations of the organization, business behaviors, and information flows. It is simple, comprehensible, and communicable. As managers and employees within the enterprise shall easily comprehend the interactions and communications between different sections by using this model, a huge amount of time could be preserved for individual works, and the enterprise would become more competitive.

Study on Architecture-Oriented International Student Care and Management Model

Wang, Yih-ping 20 August 2012 (has links)
According to the Department of Statistic, there are 163 existing Universities, Colleges and Institutes with 1,352,084 students in the 100th academic year. Under the trend of globalization, Taiwan¡¦s society and high education are facing an enormous change. And as to dealing with those changes Taiwan has to rely on the globalized higher education system to accomplish. Therefore, to expend recruiting aboard students is the key of success for Ministry of Education to enhance the development of globalizing higher education. However, Taiwan is a late bloomer on globalizing the higher education and English is the second language to us. Therefore, problems are generated when working on recruiting international students. As the matter of the fact, the matters of caring and managing international students appear to be essential. This study constructs an architecture-oriented international student management model (AOISCM) using the structure-behavior coalescence architecture description language (SBC-ADL). AOISCM is an international student centered blueprint which includes six fundamental diagrams: architecture hierarchy diagram, framework diagram, component operation diagram, component connection diagram, structure-behavior coalescence diagram, and interaction flow diagram. Comparing with existing international student care and management model from various kinds of views, all results demonstrate that AOISCM is superior to the existing model. AOISCM covers the organization structure and caring behavior. By this model we are able to see the relationship between international students and the universities, and show the whole picture of the caring and managing international students. Therefore, using AOISCM on caring and managing international students will help universities to meet the high proficiency on reaching an agreement on international student¡¦s communication. Last and not least, AOISCM shall clarify the duties for each divisions and flexible sources allocation for office executives.

Study on Architecture-Oriented Production Equipment Management

Yang, Tien-Lung 13 January 2008 (has links)
As the globalization trend going on, the Taiwan¡¦s steel import tariff has been reduced to almost nil customs duties after joining in the World Trade Organization. Taken to be a result of continuous investment in enhancing and enlarging output capabilities made by local steel manufacturers, the domestic steel markets are showing a tendency to a surplus status of supply over demand. The steel companies in Taiwan are faced with much stricter economic surrounding. Therefore, it is first priority that any enterprise must do well on internal improvement in order to keep its competitiveness. This research aims to setup Architecture-Oriented Production Equipment Management Model (AOPEMM). The results will be provided to the coated/galvanized plate steel products as reference of the Production Equipment Management. In this research, we first set up the roadmap of Architecture-Oriented Production Equipment Management Model. In the roadmap of AOPEMM, structure element diagrams, structure element service diagrams, structure behavior coalescence diagrams, and sequence diagrams are constructed accordingly. Through repeating of this construction, we then achieve an optimization of the AOPEMM. We compare AOPEMM with Non-Architecture-Oriented Production Equipment Management Model (NAOPEMM) using six measurement indicators, such as organization, personnel, task, technology, communication interface and integration of the resources. Strength of AOPEMM and Weakness of NAOPEMM are validated to support the argument of this research.

Study on Architecture-Oriented Procurement management

Huang, Li-fang 23 June 2008 (has links)
The gasoline prices have risen over $130 USD per barrel since the first time oil crisis occurred in 1973. The shortages of the natural resources cause not only the prices of raw material getting higher but also hard to get. The cost of the production and marketing increased tremendously. At the present time all enterprises focus on how to get the raw material they need on producing. According to the data currently issued by U.S. Census Bureau, among the manufacturing industries, the proportion of the purchase amounts of raw material, parts, and equipments to the total cost was over 50%. The processes of the procurement are complicated and long procedures. To simplify the procurement process and save the purchasing costs become the major topics that an enterprise has to face. Unfortunately, we are lacking a set of integral model for procurement management at present. The model of system architecture is simple and concise. It describes and represents all the viewpoints simultaneously. We use to construct the mold of architecture-oriented procurement management for the references of the enterprises procurement management. This research adopting the logic approach, based on system architecture, complements with Architecture Description Language as a tool to derive the Architecture-Oriented Procurement Management Model (AOPMM). AOPMM is an integrated model of the service and interaction of all structure elements, using Six Golden Rule to express explicitly the inner knowledge. And it can be used as graphic job specifications. To face the speedily changing environment of management, AOPMM helps managers more flexible and quick to adjust the relationship inwards and outwards, to sufficiently control the resources and exchange the ideas as to make the functions of procurement management easily to appear. The results of this research can be used as the references for the enterprises procurement model in the future, to improve the efficiency of the procurement management and decision making, reduce purchasing costs, and create the higher strategic values.

Study on Architecture-Oriented Human Resource Management Model

Luo, Dyi-min 05 January 2009 (has links)
With introduction of information technology, the role of human resources management has transformed from traditional administrative affairs to strategic partners. Each enterprise, whether small or large, can not be divorced from the management of human resources. Finding proper talents; retaining and training employees for enterprises to maintain a strong vitality; providing effective supports to human resources etc. are important issues that human resources management currently needs to face. An ideal human resources management system must not only meet the needs of enterprises, but also be adaptable to the environment¡¦s change. Today, most human resources management systems on the market are in the form of packages and process-oriented; therefore, they have difficulties to cope with the frequently changed environment. As the saying goes, "Know both your opponent and yourself ever victorious", architecture-oriented construction of a system becomes the beacon to many enterprises so that they have a better grasp of the effective integration of resources, in order to create the maximum corporate value. Architecture-oriented human resource management model, abbreviated as AOHRMM, includes enterprise architecture and software architecture, which not only describes enterprise behaviors in terms of interactions among enterprise structures, but also fully applies information technology and system integration. From analysis to design, through macro to micro of architecture-oriented characteristics, AOHRMM is able to complete the construction of enterprise systems with consistency and standardization. Also with communication capabilities of architecture framework, AOHRMM makes all processes transparent, so that enterprise strategies, personnel, and any system all have a consistent direction and goal. In addition to combining resources to achieve the mission, AOHRMM is vigorous with rapid response and flexibility to adjust in consistently changing environment.

Study on Architecture-Oriented Information Security Management Model

Tsai, Chiang-nan 07 January 2009 (has links)
Information security, sometimes referred as enterprise security, plays a very important and professional role in the enterprises. Therefore, information security management is getting more and more popularity among the enterprises in recent years. Several aspects on information, such as technical documents, research and development plans, product quotations, are considered as core assets in one company. How to effectively manage and realize an information security system has become a key for a company¡¦s survival. The international information security management standard, ISO 27001:2005, which includes personnel security, technology security, physical security and management security has been promulgated. When bringing in an information security management system, a company usually embraces the process-oriented approach which treats the system¡¦s structure view and behavior view separately. Separating structure view from behavior view during the planning phase may cause many difficulties, such as uneven distribution of resources, poor safety performance, bad risk management, poor system management and so on, when working on the later realization and verification phase of the information security management system¡¦s construction. Up to date, there is no enterprise architecture theory for information security management system. This research utilizes architecture-oriented modeling methodology so that structure view and behavior view are coalesced when decomposing the information security management system to obtain structural elements and behaviors deriving from interactions among these structure elements. By adopting structure behavior coalescence, abbreviated as SBC, which includes ¡§architecture hierarchy diagram", "structure element diagram", "structure element service diagram", "structure element connection diagram", "structure behavior coalescence diagram", and "interactive flow diagram", this research constructs a complete architecture-oriented information security management model, abbreviated as AOISMM. This research is the first study using architecture-oriented approach to construct the information security management system. Also, AOISMM solves many difficulties caused by the process-oriented approach when constructing information security management systems. These are the contributions of this research.

Study on Architecture-Oriented Project Risk Management Model

Hung, Mao-feng 23 June 2009 (has links)
This research studies the six strategies of Project Risk Management defined by a Guide to Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) issued by U.S. Project Management Institute (PMI), the model of risk management invented by Boehm in 1991, and an enterprise architecture tool. As a result, this research comes out Architecture-Oriented Project Risk Management Model, abbreviated as AOPRMM, which emphasizes structure behavior coalescence within an organization. AOPRMM thoroughly describe the organization¡¦s integrity and the services provided by various structure elements. Moreover, AOPRMM is able to demonstrate the relationship of interaction among structure elements. Currently, most risk management models are categorized into the process-oriented approach. This research utilizes architecture-oriented as a new approach for modeling the project risk management. The model used in our approach is compared with those such as standard model of ISO 31000, standard model of New Zealand, and standard model of Taiwanese government. The result of this research shows that AOPRMM could help project managers master the whole project in a short period of time, implement the project easily, and lower the cost. By applying AOPRMM, the industries could regulate standard operations, and clarify the responsibility and authority in order to implement the project risk management successfully. This research achieves a beneficial model and knowledge for the project risk management. This accomplishment may be valuable for the business and academic circles to follow and refer.

Strategic brand management in a growing and innovative specialty chemical industry / by H.S. Steenekamp

Steenekamp, Hendrik Stephanus January 2008 (has links)
Buckman Laboratories (Pty) Ltd. (hereafter referred to as Buckman Laboratories) is an international, privately owned, specialty chemical manufacturer. The company's marketing strategy is based on customer intimacy and knowledge sharing and currently segments its markets (pulp and paper, water, leather and mining) by means of customer categorization based on industry potential sales. The Buckman brand is synonymous with the heavy industries (Sasol, ArcelorMittal, Mondi, Sappi, Eskom). For the company to grow and increase its profitability, Buckman Laboratories has to identify and select innovative brand drivers to stay competitive in the heavy industry market segment as well as identify other market segments to compete profitably in. In this study the Logical brand management model was specifically applied in terms of the customer perspective. Brand and cost drivers were identified from the company's and customers' perspective to identify opportunities in the current market segments (pulp and paper, water and leather). Metrics utilized were traditional gap analysis as well as the Opportunity Algorithm from Ulwick. Of importance was the consistent alignment of the model with Buckman Laboratories' strategy. The model includes continuous improvement, on-time delivery, product innovation, knowledge sharing, and providing a holistic product/service offering as brand drivers that will ensure innovative growth of the Buckman Laboratories brand. The conclusion is that the Logical brand management model as developed by Marc Logman may be successfully utilized to identify brand drivers to grow the Buckman Laboratories brand innovatively in future. / Thesis (M.B.A.)--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2009.
