Stříteský, Vladimír January 2019 (has links)
The focus of this thesis is to provide a complex framework for design of process-based organizational structure, which is currently lacking in the academic literature. Thesis starts with development of a complex process improvement framework, continues by developing process/activity owner assignment framework and connects the process management with design of organizational structure. The developed framework consists of two parts, the "As Is" analysis, capturing the current state of affairs and the "To Be" design developing an optimal arrangement. A basic evaluation tool is provided to assess the effects of changes to the process structure. Practical part applies newly developed framework in a business entity. The process improvement is used to design new process-based organizational structure, which in terms of efficiency surpasses the current matrix organizational structure. Amaral, Cacilda Mendes dos Santos 11 April 2019 (has links)
A partir dos resultados obtidos em campo e da compar ação e discussão deste com a literatura, foi possível apresentar como resultado final de sta Tese uma proposta de modelo que apresenta 115 processos de gestão detalhados associados à gestão de instalações esportivas voltadas prioritariamente à prática do es porte de participação / Sports facilities are considered as one of the fundamental factors for the sport development in the countries, and it is related to the involvement of the general population in physical / sports activities. The sports facilities management has a broad definition, and can refer to the management of the construction processes of a new facility (from its planning and design to the construction ), as well as all the proces ses that involve its operation . Despite the importance of all the management processes in the sport facility operation , there are few studies in Brazil that analyze and discuss the pla nning and sports facilities management as well as national norm s and guidelines for management . Considering the growth of the area of sport management in Brazil and the concern that has been established in the country about the places focused on sports p ractice, it is relevant to reflect on the management adopted in sports facilities focused on the sport participation in the country and construction of knowledge on the subject Based on the knowledge, analysis and discussion of the management processes of Brazilian sports facilities, this research aimed elaborate a model that contemplates the management processes of sports facilities focused on the sp ort of participation in Brazil. Adapting the environmentallysustainable logistics performancemanagement process

Persdotter Isaksson, Maria January 2018 (has links)
Process based approaches to environmentally sustainable logistics performancemanagement are lacking within organizations that buy logistics services (buyers) and thatsell logistics services (LSPs), which puts a damper on environmentally sustainablelogistics performance. Organizations understand the potential of environmentallysustainable logistics performance management, but they seems unable to developeffective management processes and accurate environmentally sustainable logisticsmetrics. An environmentally sustainable logistics performance management process(ESLPM process) is one way for an organization to manage its performance in line withits environmental strategy and overall environmental targets. The purpose of this thesis is to adapt the logistics performance management process toinclude environmental sustainability. The first research question is about thecharacteristics for including environmentally sustainable logistics in the logisticsperformance management process. Characteristics that need to be included in the logisticsperformance management process must be identified in order to illustrate the process, inorder to improve the environmental performance. Moreover, by identifying thecharacteristics of the process activities, it is possible to compare how the characteristicsof the process are similar and/or different between organizations. The performancemanagement process can only be used successfully if the strategy is closely aligned tosome process activities being implemented; this motivates the second research question, which is how the ESLPM process can be expanded to measure alignment. The method used to collect empirical data is primarily interviews in eight multiple-casestudies of four organizations buying logistics services and four organizations sellinglogistics services. The frame of reference is based on the inclusion of environmentalsustainability characteristics in the logistics performance management process and thealignment between process and strategy as well as within processes. The results include a description of an ESLPM process that contains five activities withseventeen characteristics for managing environmentally sustainable logistics. Specificcontexts of eight organizations, like type (private, public, or private/public) and size(small, medium, or large) and their influence and implications concerning the ESLPMprocess are discussed and presented. The matching between the theoretical ESLPMprocess (based on the frame of reference) and the empirical ESLPM process is presentedand then compared within the eight organizations, resulting in a modified ESLPM processwith twenty characteristics. The results shows that the use of an ESLPM process is stillin beginning stages and is not done in a structured manner; in particular, the organizationsfind it difficult to establish appropriate ESLP metrics, to define the ESLP metrics, to setaccurate ESLP targets, and to collect and measure the ESLP metrics. Results from measuring level of alignment include theoretical measurement models fortwo types of alignment, a model for measuring alignment between process and strategy,as well as a model for measuring alignment within a process. The two theoretical modelscontain different aspects that measure alignment on three different levels (high, medium, low). These models are tested within each organization, and the results from measuringlevel of alignment per organization is used to evaluate the two theoretical models, resulting in modified models for measuring alignment. The results lead to increased understanding of how type and size influence thecharacteristics of the ESLPM process and the level of alignment. The results also contribute to the literature on environmentally sustainable logistics performancemanagement and the alignment both between process and strategy as well as within theESLPM process. The result can be used by organizations selling and buying logisticsservices to improve their environmentally sustainable logistics performance.

Gosch, Samuel Sfreddo 03 May 2016 (has links)
The innovation capacity of companies is recognized as one of the main factors that foment the country\'s economic growth, welfare levels and the competitiveness of its economy. In a market with substantial revenue generation, of significant competition and traditionally conservative as the construction sector, it is believed that investment in innovation can amongst other benefits promote performance and quality of buildings improvements, cost and time reduction, sustainability and therefore increase of the competitive advantage. Considering the constant need of construction companies to improve their results the purpose of this paper is to structure a innovation management process, applied to buildings construction, in the company EZTEC. The development of this work is based on the literature review, interviews with innovation market professionals and on the EZTEC\'s organizational and technical characteristics, where the author holds the position of Quality Manager. The result of this work is composed by a set of fundamental guidelines for structuring the innovation management process in buildings construction, which considers the EZTEC\'s organizational culture, therefore it should be easy to implement. Although the focus of development has been addressed to a specific company, it is believed that the contribution of this work can be extended to other organizations with similar characteristics that intend to evolve organizational and technologically, based on the structuring of a process that leads to innovation, provided their intrinsic characteristics are properly considered.

POKORNÁ, Kateřina January 2019 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to analyze ongoing processes in the selected small and medium-sized enterprise Pokorny - Sítě s.r.o. Further, to find the bottlenecks, suggest how to improve them and to determine whether these improvements were reflected in the calculations of the products which are made in the company Pokorny - Sítě s.r.o. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is divided into several chapters that describe the basic parts like the process, the process management, the process maps, the process management improvement, the reengineering and others. This section helps us to understand and to describe the basic concepts and definitions related to the process control. The practical part is based on analysis of business processes, observations and interviews with the employees and management of the company Pokorny - Sítě s.r.o and identify the bottlenecks which impede the ongoing processes to continue. After the bottlenecks were identified, the changes of the production process were proposed and applied to the production process of the company. The new layout of the production process led to the elimination of the bottlenecks and the reduction of the production time and also impoved the efficiency and continuity of ongoing production process. Subsequently, new calculation formula was propounded. The new calculation formula provides more information per product (costs - fixed and variable, margin, profit per product etc). The result of the applied changes in the production process is the streamlining production, reduced costs and increased company's profit per product.

A structured approach to improving organisational knowledge, business processes and management systems

Matsumoto, Isao T. January 2006 (has links)
In a commercial environment that is ever changing, organisations have to constantly adapt to remain competitive. To ensure the benefits of change are achieved a coherent and structured approach to implementing change is essential, as disconnected initiatives often fail. This thesis presents a series of eight continuous improvement projects undertaken by a leading engineering design consultancy. The projects use a range of process management and knowledge management techniques to improve specific aspects of the sponsor's business, in particular how it manages its organisational knowledge, business processes and management systems. To better understand the strengths and weakness of process and knowledge management techniques, in order to see how they can be combined, the techniques are first applied separately on six projects. Based on the lessons learnt from these projects, key aspects of the process and knowledge management techniques used are then combined to create two robust business solutions that have the potential to significantly benefit the sponsor's business. In developing and implementing the solutions, to the eight specific business issues covered in this thesis, a number of key issues relating to the architecture of successful systems and the organisational change management process involved with implementing these systems are captured. These key points are summarised into recommendations focused at both academic and commercial organisations.

Proposition of a conceptual framework for collaborative design management process with the use of BIM.

Manzione, Leonardo 18 June 2013 (has links)
The increasingly widespread use of BIM technology shows that a new paradigm for design collaborative work needs to be created. In different countries and settings, many barriers to be transposed are perceived to fully exploit the benefits of BIM. There is a lack of knowledge about the integration of new technology to improve the design process. Also lacking are comprehensive understanding and an overview of non-technological factors, besides the relationships and interdependencies in the intersection between design management and BIM design process. In this context, the small number of theories that seek integration between the design management process and BIM motivated the development of this work. The overall objective of this thesis is to develop a conceptual framework for managing the design process by using BIM. The literature review shows a diffusion of fragmented concepts and trends in the production of applications for the implementation of BIM; however, they are not sufficiently supported by conceptual reflections. As the main contribution, the conceptual framework developed seeks to support the set of methodologies applicable to new technologies and shows how to relate the fields of design management process and information technology. Key performance indicators to both measure the project development level and monitor the quality of the model are also proposed. Another important contribution of the thesis was the reformulation of the LOD (level of detail or development) concept to Maturity Level, comprising the management requirements of the program requirements, managing the model development level, level measurement physical interference and proposed a system of planning and control of the design process suitable for BIM. Finally, tests were conducted on two practical BIM models of buildings, which enabled the demonstration of performance indicators and their applicability. With the proposed conceptual framework, we believe to have contributed to a new perspective on how to evolve the management of the design process in the BIM context.
