/ Abstract : Given K a field and the directed graph E, defined by (E 0,E 1,r,s), such that r and s are functions applied to the edges of E, we'll define the Path K-Algebras and the Leavitt Path K-Algebras of the graph E, that we are going to respectively call A(E) and L_K(E), as the K-algebras generated by the sets of edges and vertices of E, with relations that will be defined in this work. We'll be seeing examples of graphs that generate Path Algebras and Leavitt Path Algebras that are isomorphic to mathematical structures already known, as a way of better understanding how these algebras work. Furthermore, we'll be proving results of these algebras based on informations obtained from the graph E. The main result that we are going to prove here show us how the graph E can make the Leavitt Path Algebra be simple or not.

Santos, Henrique Prado January 2015 (has links)
Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro Tecnológico, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Mecânica, Florianópolis, 2015. / Made available in DSpace on 2016-05-24T17:33:24Z (GMT).
/ Abstract : Reconfigurable mechanisms are the most recent branch of study in mechanism science. They can present kinematic singularities, also known as singular configurations, where they may became structurally vulnerable. However, the kinematotropic linkages, which has reconfigurable characteristics, carry singular configurations in its structure so their topology can be changed. Therefore, enumerating all the mechanism's singular configurations is one of the problems found in the mechanism motions' study and design. The kinematic analysis using screw theory is an adequate mathematical tool for this task. Hence, this work proposes a systematic methodology to search for all the kinematic singularities in reconfigurable mechanisms using screw theory. This master thesis describes this methodology by reviewing recent studies on screw based kinematic modeling, analysis and the hierarchical kinematic analysis, creates a method to eliminate linear dependent rows in jacobian matrices and applies it to analyse two reconfigurable mechanisms.

Savietto, Natan January 2015 (has links)
Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação Científica e Tecnológica, Florianópolis, 2015. / Made available in DSpace on 2016-05-24T17:49:31Z (GMT).
/ Abstract : We can say that one of the difficulties of the students related to understanding physical concepts and interpret the world from the point of view of physics, it is the fact that it is structured by means of mathematical language. However, the teaching of physics, often end up short exposure practices concepts and formulas, showing the mathematical tivism, where the significance of the phenomena and their own mathematical language through dialogue between students and teachers are few worked. Physical works with a language whose significance goes through the math, but goes beyond it. Its historical process of constitution as a science, relations were being woven with mathematics, constituting a new form of interpretation of the world second Thomas Kuhn. In fact, there are several views of the relationship between physics and mathematics, which is designed as a framework, as a tool, as a foundation, or as language of/for physics, according to the studies. In this paper we adopt the understanding of mathematics as a language with reference to the philosophy of Wittgenstein's language. Highlight the notion of language games with their own rules and family resemblances, that contribute to the understanding of the significance as dependent on the use that is made of language, in this case, the language of mathematics in different contexts and ways of life, as in our case, the teaching context of physics. Based on this conception of philosophy of language as we seek to identify and language games involving both verbal and mathematics Physics of the 3rd year of high school, a public school in Florianópolis/SC, for a teacher- trainee who sought to treat mathematics in classes differently and whose theme was addressed magnetic field generated by electric current. These classes were audio-recorded and transcribed, which selected the episodes in which we highlight the language games, rules or family resemblances, and the meaning possibilities of the physical concepts related to this theme worked by the teacher and students. Thus, we identified different sets of language on the way to school life, with its own rules and family resemblances with other games such as the game of sign language, the language game "bigger ... bigger, bigger ... smaller," the game associative language, the analogy of language game, and others, which aims at studying the concept of meaning, linking the verbal and mathematical languages.

Oliveira, Rafael Sales Lisbôa de January 2015 (has links)
Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação Científica e Tecnológica, Florianópolis, 2015. / Made available in DSpace on 2016-05-24T17:41:35Z (GMT).
/ Abstract : This study intends to contribute and understand the beliefs of teachers in the school environment, specifically in Natural Science and Mathematics. To this end, we have raised the question: What are teacher beliefs regarding student motivation? The theoretical basis of this study is supported by two theoretical contributions: the first is the study of beliefs, highlighting its relationship to knowledge, differences regarding the concept of views, theoretical aspects common between authors and studies linking beliefs to school context, more precisely on the beliefs of teachers, how they originate, what are their influences and how to modify/disappear. The second brings a theoretical approach to the concept of motivation to the educational context, more specifically on the subject of motivation to learn. In this approach, briefly present the types of motivation as well as some theories that support our study: Theory of Self-Determination, Achievement Goals Theory, Theory of Cause, Auto efficiency Beliefs, in addition to the teacher?s motivation characteristics. Accordingly, we developed a qualitative study in which 11 teachers of Florianópolis - Brazil participated in the study by answering a semi-structured interview. The analysis of these occurred in the light of Content Analysis and resulted in the organization of teachers' beliefs in 8 categories of teachers' beliefs about motivation. The results of the data analysis indicated that the beliefs about motivation was found that most teachers did not provide a precise definition of motivation. Most teachers, nine of eleven teachers, explained reasons to try to define motivation. In general, teachers did not make it explicit in their reports to know the distinction between intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation, nor the taxonomy addressed the Theory of Self-determination through self-determination continuum, though, they have exemplified situations in which appear both extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. Moreover, the group of teachers investigated explicit beliefs centered on the motivational role of content they teach and often report that direct efforts to motivate students supported these beliefs. It was also perceived that the undergraduate courses that offered the training of these teachers did not address this subject in their curriculum. Finally, teachers reported that the source of their beliefs in students' motivation to learn was acquired during experiences as students and as teachers. Among the contributions of our study, we highlight the path followed for further studies, a possiblecontributions on training courses and an opportunity to reflect on beliefs in the school context and its role in the teachers? conduct.
