Abrahão, Elcio 19 March 2007 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2015-02-04T21:45:26Z (GMT).

Den kulturpolitiska forskningens intellektuella bas och inriktningar : En författarcociteringsanalys av artiklar publicerade i International Journal of Cultural Policy 2002-2007 / The intellectual base and research approaches of cultural policy studies : An author cocitation analysis of articles published in International Journal of Cultural Policy 2002-2007

Jönsson, Martin January 2008 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to map the intellectual base, and identify the general research interests, of Cultural Policy studies. In addition to this the thesis also aims to trace the uses of theoretical and conceptual approaches within the identified research interests. This is done by analysing citations from 130 articles published in the leading scientific journal International Journal of Cultural Policy between the years 2002-2007 using the bibliometric method author cocitation analysis (ACA). The results of the ACA confirm the overall notion that the research field of cultural policy studies is an ambiguous one, even when it’s studied with a quantitative method specialised in uncovering hidden structures within a given field as ACA. Theoretical and conceptual approaches proved, with the sole exception to the concept of policy, very difficult to discover by only using ACA. Five general research interests in Cultural Policy studies have been identified from the MDS-map created trough the ACA; these are:o Cultural/Creative industries.o Cultural planning, cultural cities.o Traditional cultural policy (British).o Traditional cultural policy (French).o Democracy, public sphere and culture. / Uppsatsnivå: D

Cooperative localization based on received signal strength in wireless sensor network

Zheng, Jinfu 01 January 2010 (has links)
Localization accuracy based on RSS (Received Signal Strength) is notoriously inaccurate in the application of wireless sensor networks. RSS is subject to shadowing effects, which is signal attenuation caused by stationary objects in the radio propagation. RSS are actually the result of decay over distances, and random attenuation over different directions. RSS measurement is also affected by antenna orientation. Starting from extracting the statistical orders in the function relationship between RSS and distance, this thesis first shows how non-metric MDS (Multi-Dimensional Scaling) is the suitable method for cooperative localization. Then, several issues are presented and discussed in the application of non-metric MDS, including determining full connections to avoid flip ambiguities, leveraging the proper initial estimation to avert from local minimum solutions, and imposing structural information to bend the localization result to a priori knowledge. To evaluate the solution, data were acquired from different scenarios including accurate radio propagation model, indoor empirical test, and outside empirical test. Experiment results shows that non-metric MDS can only combat the small scale randomness in the shadowing effects. To combat the large scale ones, macro-diversity approaches are further presented including rotating the receiver’s antenna or collecting RSS from more than one mote in the same position. By averaging the measurements from these diversified receivers, simulation results and empirical tests show that shadowing effects can be greatly reduced. Also included in this thesis is how effective packet structures should be designed in the mote programming based on TinyOS to collect different sequences of RSS measurements and fuse them together. / UOIT

Úloha TGFß a studium prognostických faktorů u pacientů s MDS a AML / The role of TGFß and study of prognostic factors of patients with MDS and AML

Provazníková, Dana January 2011 (has links)
We did not find mutation in coding areas of genes for components of TGFbeta1 signaling pathway but we detected decreased or undetectable expression of these analysed genes. The decreased expression is probably caused by epigenetic changes, so by hypermethylation and deacetylation of promoter regionsof these genes.Antiproliferative and apoptotic effect of TGF1 was analysed in AML cell lines (ML1, ML2, CTV1 and Kasumi1). ML2 cells rezistence to inhibition of DNA synthesis by TGFβ1 is not caused by mutations of genes for components of TGFβ1 signaling pathway. We found that increased SnoN (Ski-like novel gene) expression on the level of coresponding mRNA and protein is probably accountable for this rezistence. Kasumi1 and M2 cells were sensitive to induction of apoptózis caused by TGFβ1 treatment but in less extent than by proteazome inhibitor bortezomib. The difference of AML cells of different lines answers shows a great heterogeneity AML in AML patients. Prognostic factors analysis in AML with normal karyotype confirmed that CEBPA (CCAAT/enhancer binding protein alpha) mutations predict favourable prognosis but the elevated EVI1 ("Ecotropic Virus Integration Site 1") and ERG ("ETS-related gene") expression are connected with unfavourable prognosis. EVI1 is a negative marker for MDS as well. We did not confirm...

Uma aplicação de modelagem dinâmica de sistemas e activity based costing para mensurar os custos em manufaturas celulares / An application of system dynamics modeling and activity based costing to measure the costs in cellular manufacturers

Vinicius Amorim Sobreiro 17 June 2008 (has links)
The aim of this dissertation is to apply and to compare the modeling system dynamics (MDS) and activity based costing (ABC) to measure the costs in cellular manufacture. Taking this into account, a simulation was accomplished using the concepts of MDS to obtain the costs of production of four products, in an environment of cellular manufacture, considering ABC method and the comparison of those values with the technique of traditional costing. As for the research methodology, this dissertation is of quantitative focus in which the research type is exploratory without establishment of hypotheses, however guided by their objectives. The obtained results demonstrate that the application of ABC together with MDS it is very satisfactory when compared with the traditional technique. In conclusion, it can be observed that the application of ABC with MDS can be used efficiently as an alternative method to costing in cellular manufacture.

Mapeamento de dados genômicos usando escalonamento multidimensional / Representation of genomics data with multidimensional scaling

Espezúa Llerena, Soledad 04 June 2008 (has links)
In this work were studied various Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) techniques intended to apply in the mapping of genomics data obtained of RFLP-PCR technique. This mapping is done in a low dimensional space (2D or 3D), and has the intention of exploiting the visual human capability on analysis and synthesis. A comparative analysis of diverse algorithms MDS was carried out in order to devise its ubiquity in representing genomics data. This analysis covers the study of some indices of performance such as: the precision in the mapping, the computational cost and the capacity to induce good groupings. The purpose of this analysis was developed a software tool called \"MDSExplorer\", which integrates various MDS algorithms and some options that allow to compare the algorithms and to visualize the mappings. The analysis, carried out over diverse datasets cited in the literature, suggest that the algorithm LANDMARK has the lowest computational time, a good precision in the mapping, and a tendency to maintain the existing structures in the data. Finally, MDSExplorer was used to mapping a real genomics dataset: the RFLP-PRC images of a Brazilian collection of bacterial strains belonging to the genus Bradyrhizobium (known by their capability to transform the nitrogen of the atmosphere into compounds useful for the host plants), with the objective to aid the specialist to infer visually a taxonomy in these strains. The results in reduction of dimensionality in this data base, suggest that the relevant information (above 60% of variance accumulated) to the region 16S, 23S and IGS is around 5, 4 and 9 dimensions respectively.
