From analytical, descriptive and historical perspectives, this dissertation aims at expressing the Public Relation professional s background at the Federal University of Alagoas over the past twenty-six years. It traces the background memory as the one inserted in a national movement of the Social Communication teaching and presents its current profile highlighting some aspects of the categories considered in graduation programs analysis. It registers subjects understanding involved in the process, and discusses the Public Relations curriculum as a field of possibilities. These investigations result in clues for the constitution of a memory of this field in Alagoas, aspects and impressions of the background in question as well as subsidy for the configuration of a new curriculum. / Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de Alagoas / Adotando perspectivas histórica, descritiva e analítica, esta dissertação busca revelar a formação do profissional de relações públicas na Universidade Federal de Alagoas constituída ao longo de 26 anos. Faz um resgate da memória da formação, como inserida num movimento nacional de ensino de Comunicação Social e apresenta seu perfil atual, privilegiando alguns aspetos das categorias consideradas em análises de programas de graduação. Registra representações dos sujeitos envolvidos no processo e discute o currículo de Relações Públicas como um campo de possibilidades. Resultam destas investigações pistas para a constituição de uma memória desse campo em Alagoas, olhares e impressões sobre a formação em questão e subsídios para a conformação de um currículo novo.
