Orientador: Claudio Bertolli Filho / Banca: Fernando Bastos / Banca: Sonia Maria Villela Bueno / Resumo: Com o objetivo de discutir a posição de centralidade do corpo na cultura contemporânea bem como atentar para as possíveis implicações deste fato no ensino de ciências, a presente pesquisa teve por objetivo investigar as representações de corpo de alunos e professores do ensino fundamental, mais especificamente aqueles que integram o quadro docente, e discente, da 7ª série. Dentre os principais objetivos da presente pesquisa, atenta-se para a relevância de averiguar, através dos discursos por estes articulados, possíveis necessidades ou limitações relacionadas às práticas educativas atuais, em que o foco seja o corpo - tema de natureza interdisciplinar, cujas necessidades sociais, a ele relacionadas, fazem clamar por uma abordagem que ultrapasse suas dimensões anatômico-fisiológicas, como vem corroborar os Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais - daí derivando a importância de se conhecer as diferentes concepções que norteiam a prática pedagógica e influenciam o aprendizado. Também se procurou considerar, e investigar, as representações (explícitas ou implícitas) de corpo humano dos livros didáticos adotados por esta mesma população - já que estes caracterizam uma das principais fontes de informação e conhecimento sistematizado disponível aos educandos - bem como as concepções veiculadas pelos mais diversos meios de comunicação, que de certa forma praticam um tipo de pedagogia que ensina, ou ao menos, influencia na construção ou manutenção de certas representações de corpo amplamente divulgadas e disseminadas. De maneira geral, constatou-se a predominância de representações sociais, culturais, e em menor escala, científicas acerca do corpo. / Abstract: With the objective to discuss the position of centrality of the body in the contemporary culture as well as paying attention to the possible implications of this fact in the science teaching, the present research had as objective to investigate the body representations of students and teachers of elementary school, more specifically to those who integrate the teaching staff, and dissent, from seventh grade. From among the main objectives of the present research, it takes into consideration to the importance of verifying, through the speeches for these joined, possible necessities or limitations related to the current educational practices, in which the focus be the body - theme of interdisciplinary nature, whose social necessities, related to it, complain for an approach that exceed their anatomic-physiologic dimensions, which come to confirm the Brazilian Curriculum Parameters - hence deriving the importance of knowing the different conceptions which guide the pedagogical practice and influence the learning. Also it tried to consider and investigate the human body representations (explicit and implicit) from the educational books adopted by this same population - since these characterize one of the main sources of information and systematized knowledge available to the educating - as well as the conceptions passed by the most various medium, which in some ways play a kind of education that it teachers, or at least, influences in the construction or maintenance of certain body representations widely spread and published. The dissertation thesis deals with the interpretation of the "beyond-the-man" concept, which is being interpreted, on one hand, as a part of the art-theoretical and art-historical European modernity of the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, on the other hand, as a theoretical and methodological starting point for an interpretation of the transformation of the human image in the painting of the second half of the 1940s until the beginning of the 1960s. The foundation for such an interpretation is an assumption of the necessary transformation of the intellectual concepts after the World War II, as it was postulated by Theodor W. Adorno and how it was researched by Giorgio Agamben and Miroslav Petříček in the political-philosophical discourse. The thesis thus researches the "beyond-the-man" concept in the theory and history of art of the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century in a way of it being as re-formulated art-creative concept after 1945, evident especially in abstract painting. The interpretation of the "beyond-the-man" concept is developed on reading of Fritz Novotny's interpretation of Paul Cézanne's art from the beginning of the 1930s.
