Community located between the Atlantic Ocean, the Port of the Mucuripe and an industrial complex specialized in the production of gas and fuel, this narrow beach piece was occupied by a sufficiently heterogeneous contingent of workers. Fishers, prostitutes, surfers, dock workers, industry workers, small traders and, over all diligent informal, are together, configuring particular aspects of a community culturally multifaceted and marked by distinct migratory experiences. It is looked to perceive how the community coexists with a natural landscape modified by the progress and which way the people had lived its sociabilities / Essa dissertação tem por objetivo central compreender o processo histórico de formação e urbanização do Bairro Serviluz em Fortaleza. Comunidade localizada entre o oceano Atlântico, o Porto do Mucuripe e um complexo industrial especializado no ramo de gás e combustível, esse estreito pedaço de praia no extremo leste de Fortaleza foi ocupado por um contingente bastante heterogêneo de trabalhadores. Pescadores, meretrizes, surfistas, portuários, trabalhadores da indústria, pequenos comerciantes e, sobretudo, trabalhadores informais misturam-se, configurando aspectos particulares de uma comunidade culturalmente multifacetada e marcada por distintas experiências migratórias. Procura-se perceber ainda como a comunidade convive com uma paisagem natural modificada pelo progresso e de que modo às pessoas vivenciam suas sociabilidades
