Incluir excluindo ou excluir incluindo : a escola E-JOVEM/LGBTTI e seus desdobramentos /

Silva, Renan Antônio da. January 2018 (has links)
Abstract: The present research was carried out by means of a descriptive / analytical analysis of the proposal of implantation and its unfolding of a school destined to the public LGBTTI, the EJOVEM, being one in the capital of the state of São Paulo, two in the interior and one in the coast paulista The study made it possible to perceive each of these segments and how EJOVEM contributed to promoting or not the fight against homophobia and respect for differences between 2009 and 2012. The methodological approach of this research is qualitative and with the results and analyzes of the narratives brought by the managers / founders, we get the critical and relevant points of E-JOVEM. The sources are of two natures: documentaries, about the creation and implementation of E-JOVEM and the perception about the work developed by the main actors / actresses, in this case, the founders / directors as well as the objective results in the life of the deponents. In addition, it was observed the perception of the direction of teachers and students on the results that the pedagogical training brought to each of these segments, in light of the objective of the creation of the school: to promote the fight against homophobia and respect for differences. In this sense, the central objective intertwined actions and reactions derived from specific public policies to the LGBTTI group. / Doutor

Identity Development, Identity Disclosure, and Identity Exploration Among Adolescent Sexual Minorities

Glover, Jenna A. 01 May 2006 (has links)
This study investigated the utility of applying the social constructionist perspective to adolescent sexual minority identity development, disclosure, and identity explorations. Differences between middle and late adolescents and male and females were examined. No differences were found between middle and late adolescents on measures of identity development and identity exploration; however, differences in identity disclosure were found regarding history of accidental discovery of sexual orientation. Biological sex differences were found for identity development, disclosure, and exploration. Relationships between same- and opposite-sex attractions, behaviors, romantic experiences, and self-labels are presented. Trends in intentional disclosure patterns and unintentional discovery identify predicted reaction as a primary motivator in disclosure. Finally, different relationship styles in which sexual minorities engage are presented. Outcomes of relationship styles show better psychosocial outcomes for those engaging in different relationship styles compared to those who do not participate in relationships.

GAME OF THRONES -En komparativ studie av Kurderna i Iran och Irak

Johansson, Marcus, Penahi, Milian January 2019 (has links)
The year 2017 has gone into history for being an interesting year when it comes to regional struggles for independence. That is because in that year two referendums were proposed. One by the Catalans in Spain and the other by the Kurds in Iraq. Both referendum proposals were unsuccessful. However, the struggle for autonomy and self-determination in an already sovereign state, is still an interesting area to study. Especially in the case of the Kurds, which are divided amongst four states in the middle east. The reasons behind that struggle and what they can tell about the independence claim as a whole, is something relevant to study in the area of political science. The objective of this study is to apply both classic and modern theories of secession on the Kurdish struggle for independence in the states of Iraq and Iran, to see if there is a covariance in the studied variables. The methodology of the study is a comparative analysis of the Most Similar Systems Design method, whereas the theory of the analysed objective is the theory of secession which has been created with the basis of Wood five criterions of secession. In addition to this analytical framework other theoretic aspects such as regional stability, the international community and economic factors have been added to support the secession theories and thereby creating a better degree of explanation. The analysis concluded that there could be seen a covariance of the secession theory and the regional self-determination and it concluded that Wood’s first criteria, the preconditions of secession, is the most important variable to study. The study couldn’t conclude which one of Wood´s preconditions that seemed to be the most important.

Raising ghosts post-World War Two European emigre and migrant artists and the evolution of abstract painting in Australia, with special reference to Adelaide ca 1950-1965

Dutkiewicz, Adam January 2000 (has links)
Raising ghosts examines the political and cultural climate in Australia in the mid-20th century, and proposes that e?migre? and migrant artists to a significant extent were the catalysts of change and progenitors of new forms of painting in the post-war years. It uncovers a largely hidden but fertile terrain in Australian modernism. / thesis (PhDVisualArts)--University of South Australia, 2000.

Women, sport and ethnicity: exploring experiences of difference in netball

Taylor, Tracy Lynn, School of History, UNSW January 2000 (has links)
This thesis investigates how sports organisations and discourses have impacted on the sports participation of women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in Australia. A series of national participation studies have documented that women from minority ethnic backgrounds have significantly lower participation rates in sports and physical activity than Anglo-Australian women. However, the explanations and dimensions of this difference have not been examined in previous research. The experiences of women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are used in this thesis to explore sports discourses and organisation and the embodiments of their interrelationship. The present research proposes that sports organisations and discourses within Australia have historically served to marginalise women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The arguments for this position are explored using a local narrative which details the situated nature of women????s experiences of sports. These experiences are located within a historical context that traces migration policies, the growth and development of sports and women????s social relations since white settlement of Australia. It is argued that contemporary sports discourses and organisation are inextricably tied to Australia????s colonial and imperialist past. Theories of ethnicity, gender and sports are analysed. The theoretical perspective taken in this thesis builds on feminist ideologies and ethnicity studies. Empirical analysis is undertaken using gender relations to situate sport as a site of cultural struggles best understood through investigations of history and diversity. Aspects of power, control and influence are central to this thesis. The empirical component of this thesis uses secondary data sources, surveys and interviews to investigate the research proposition. This is achieved on two levels. The first level interrogates existing data to create a macro level analysis of women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in sports. A survey of 972 schoolgirls was undertaken to collect information on sports participation and attitudes to sports. This was followed by 30 interviews with women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds that explored individual sports experiences and perspectives on sports. The second level of investigation employed the case study of netball to examine the research question as it related to a specific sports organisation. The case study component of the research involved document and archival analysis, a survey of 372 netball players and interviews with 18 women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and former and current netball administrators. The thesis analyses the empirical data as it relates to the organisation and discourse of sports in Australia. The principal conclusion reached is that sports organisation and discourses are located within a societal power structure that places women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds on its margins. Sports participation is predicated on conformity to existing cultural practices and expectations and it does little to facilitate cultural diversity. The women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds who participated in the research did not perceive sports as particularly inclusive of gender and culture. The examination of netball demonstrated that netball has not been concerned with ????other???? women, rather it has focussed its efforts on appealing to ????mainstream???? women. While netball has not explicitly excluded the involvement of women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, neither has it actively encouraged cultural diversity. This thesis makes a contribution to knowledge in the field of sports studies with its empirical research and through the ensuing development of a framework for locating the implications of inclusion or exclusion in sports organisations and discourses. This understanding can be used to assess and inform future sports policy development and practice. Principally, the thesis seeks to acknowledge and legitimise the sports experiences of women from diverse backgrounds and in doing so provides insights into a better theoretical understanding about the nexus of gender, ethnicity and sports.

Cultural citizenship and the TVNZ charter : the possibility for multicultural representation in the commercial television environment.

Reid, Donald, n/a January 2006 (has links)
Summary: Implemented in 2003, the TVNZ Charter is a one-page document that outlines the broadcasters objectives to deliver programming that represents New Zealands ethnically and socially diverse population. This thesis will examine issues surrounding the representation of diversity especially in the context of the state-commercial television network. Using the notion of cultural citizenship, or the demand from minority groups within a society to be represented and included in the institutions of the state, I will examine how TVNZ is attempting to meaningfully represent New Zealand as a bicultural society and a multicultural society, while remaining commercially focused. This thesis argues that institutions of the state, of which the media is the most visible and, possibly, the most pervasive, always function as a tool of societys dominant culture, therefore any bicultural or multicultural inclusion represented on TVNZ will always be controlled, and be at the discretion, of that singular dominant cultural force.

中共少數民族幹部政策(1979∼1992) / Mainland China's Cadres Policies towards Minorities(1979-1992)

王雲怡, Wang, Yun I Unknown Date (has links)
