The present work aims to investigate the mystic trajectory of the priest and poet Ernesto Cardenal, of Nicaragua, from the four faces presented in his books and life. The first of them is expressed by his want for human love and in his untiring admiration for the women beauty. After he had his religious experience, he presented a new perception of the cosmos and of the reality: all is love. Later on, while he was dedicating to the Solentiname’s foundation, a contemplative and non conventional community, he performed the experience of extending this love to other people and to the social activism. At last, after the loss of his political party in Nicaragua, his love started to be expressed by the poems in his two last books, which showed a closest and full of erotic language relation with God
