The Vietnamese Communist Party (VCP) first launched Doi Moi [Renovation] in 1986—10 years after the VCP officially assumed power in 1976 of the Socialist Republics of Vietnam. As the VCP describes, Doi Moi is a comprehensive economic reform package with new initiatives toward building “a mixed economy” that introduces “market mechanism with state management and a socialist orientation” to Vietnam’s economy. With Doi Moi, pragmatism has evidently taken center stage in place of dogmatic concerns for ideological correctness. The thesis seeks to first examine the conditions and factors that gave impetus for the economic reforms in Vietnam. These conditions and factors are especially evident when they are examined in a comparative context with the Soviet Union and China’s experiences with similar reforms as they are done here in the thesis. Moreover, the change of orientation from a centrally planned economy to market-oriented economy is reflected in Doi Moi’s decentralization and economic liberalization reforms as well as the VCP’s opening up to international reintegration and reconciliation with namely the United States. From this examination, it is apparent that at the crux of the VCP’s decision to pursue reforms and the Vietnamese people's support for reforms are fundamental considerations of self and political interests—the VCP's to stay in power and the people's to subsist and prosper. Whether reforms are socialist or capitalist—in form or in practice—are thus of lesser importance to the VCP and Vietnamese people than whether reforms work or do not work. / text

Lors de mes deux années de master, je me suis interrogée sur la forme gombrowiczienne fondée sur la parodie impliquant jeu et théâtralité. je me suis appuyée essentiellement sur ses trois pièces de théâtre, yvonne, princesse du bourgogne, le mariage et opérette, ainsi que ses romans empreints de théâtralité tels que la pornographie, et ferdydurke. ce corpus de textes m'a alors amenée vers une autre question fondamentale : la part de fiction et de réalité chez gombrowicz. ainsi, pour saisir la continuité et la rupture entre ces deux pôles, je me suis placée au cœur même de la vie de l'auteur, tentant d'extraire le « moi » originel au sein de ses créations que je confronterai, dans le cadre du doctorat, au travers d'une véritable partie d'échecs afin de percevoir dans le « jeu » l'implication réelle du « je » gombrowiczien. cependant, pour parvenir à cette quête du « jeu/je » gombrowiczien, il serait intéressant de placer cette étude dans les ensembles littéraires du nouveau roman et ses marques de l'autofiction, assumé, revendiqué ? nous questionnerons ainsi, non seulement le « moi » de gombrowicz dans son œuvre théâtrale et romanesque, mais aussi son implication en tant qu'auteur dans les courants esthétiques. / The Me and autobiography, the fact in putting on the first place one's personality and putting on the place of actor the Me, stands at the very headspring of the texts by Witold Gombrowicz, who speaks for himself appealing to the Other, and through the Other hides behind the non-responsability.The autobiography? The self fiction? Where the text sifts through the interplay of the truth and lie, the real and imagined and that interplay questions the Me and its personal limits, its expression, its moderations and immoderations. When the ghosts reappear, and the fantasies speak for, we don't know any more where to place that contradictory writer located between the dream and reality. And because the Other allows him to replay his own story, he calls for a multitude of characters chosen not for their uniqueness but for the capability of playing this double role.Changing scenes, elusive characters, the author-narrator complex, sometimes actor, sometimes director, sometimes acting, sometimes being trapped in his own acting, and the whole portrait arises when Witold meets Gombrowicz. Who is who? Is there any identity crisis?

Ce mémoire en création littéraire est constitué de deux parties. La première, Un pan de soleil devant la fonderie, est un récit composé de dix tableaux sous-divisés en fragments. On y suit le parcours et la pensée d'une narratrice qui déambule dans le quartier de son enfance pour rejoindre, à la toute fin, la maison de ses parents. Ce récit autobiographique est accompagné d'une nouvelle, Le sanctuaire inviolable, laquelle est une mise en fiction des lieux et des personnages décrits dans la déambulation. Ces deux textes forment un tout, dans lequel le matériau autobiographique sert de base à l'exploration des frontières, des limites entre expérience vécue et transposition romanesque. Par l'utilisation de différentes tonalités dans l'énonciation, il s'agit de reprendre contact avec les lieux de l'enfance, de questionner les figures parentales et d'affirmer le lien à une communauté. La seconde partie, Récits de vie, aborde les différentes sortes d'écriture du moi à travers le temps, du Moyen Âge à nos jours. Ce survol rapide de la constitution du genre de l'autobiographie met en rapport deux aspects fondamentaux du discours sur soi : la référence à une réalité vécue et le dévoilement d'une intimité. Elle tend aussi à montrer comment, à partir des formes usuelles de l'autobiographie, se sont développées des pratiques alternatives, comme l'autofiction et le récit transpersonnel, lesquelles sont la pierre de touche d'un nouveau questionnement sur l'argumentation problématique entre histoire de soi et histoire du monde. ______________________________________________________________________________
