Três séries de catalisadores foram preparadas através da adição de di ferentes teores dos promotores níquel, cobalto e antimônio sobre a formulação básica. Foram também preparados catalisadores com a adição simultãnea dos promotores níquel e cobalto e utilizando suporte de área especifica reduzida / Abstract: The catalytic oxidation of benzene to maleic anhydride has been studied in the present work. A detailed analysis of the literature is presented. Various supported catalysts were developed and tested in a fixed bed tubular reactor. The reaction kinetics parameters determined. Finally, a model to predict the behaviour of a pilot plant reactor is presented and the simulation results analysed. Three series of catalysts were prepared, each one having a basic and common compositions and based on the main promoter added nickel, cobalt or antimony. For each series various catalysts with different promoter contents were prepared. Also, were prepared catalysts with the simultaneous addition of two promoters (nickel and cobalt) as well as catalysts whose surface specific area of the support was reduced. / Doutorado / Doutor em Engenharia Química
