Made available in DSpace on 2019-03-29T23:59:07Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2014-12-12 / Introduction In Brazil, the number of recorded deaths from breast cancer has increased considerably every year, a very common type of cancer among women. Perform breast surgery as a treatment has been widely used and effective to prevent the spread of disease. General Objectives To evaluate the quality of life of women with mastectomies participants of Fortaleza-Ce support groups; Identify the role of support groups in Fortaleza-Ce in the lives of participants. Methodology Cohort transverse study, observational, descriptive, exploratory and quantitative approach. Was developed into five groups to support women with mastectomies in Fortaleza-CE: Friends of the Chest, LOVE, Touch of Life, Pink Live and PROAMMA in the period from August to October 2014, totaling 70 women in the survey sample. The quality of life instrument FACT-B and a form with the sociodemographic data were used. Excluded those who did not undergo the removal of the breast, in advanced stage of disease, that make no treatment on site and not attending any of the groups. Was considered with better QoL the greatest value in each dimension. The Record responses were quantified. In the last open question were divided into four motivations: Feelings; friendships; knowledge; Support. The study participants were guaranteed confidentiality as to the information acquired, in accordance with Resolution 466/12 of the CNS / MS under number 875 392 Opinion. Results The difference in value "p" between the Friends of the Chest and the other groups manifested itself in significant areas: physical (p = 0.015); Social and Family (p = 0.022); Emotional (p = 0.010). So these values indicate more reliable results (Table 04). Mostly women were aged 50-59 years with education up to primary school, of brown color, married, did not conservative surgery type breast, attending groups, on average for six years, did treatment before surgery, only after. Discussion With regard to the participants, it was observed that, by the fact that most do not have good education, many preferred not be evaluated without giving importance for this study, as evidenced by the results of this study. Finally, a limitation of this research to be emphasized is that the information about the sociodemographic profile of the general population studied would be more enlightening in the quantification and comparison with the QOL variables to the study population, because the social level tends to directly influence the quality lives of these women. Conclusion The assessment of quality of life in women undergoing breast cancer who did mastectomy, is of great value to society by helping to direct the attention of public health for the improvement of their services for the benefit of this population and for research scientific aimed also to examine the impact of a disease as stigmatizing and painful as this.

Soares, Ariane Pontes 28 November 2016 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2019-03-30T00:18:03Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2016-11-28 / Uterine cervix cancer (UCC) is the third most frequent type in the brazilian female population, except for non-melanoma cases. Approximately 16,340 new cases are expected for the year 2016, in Brazil, with an estimated risk of 15.85 cases per 100,000 women. Against the problematic of these diseases in women's health, we ask: what is the repercussion of these diseases in the quality of life of women ?. Faced with this questioning, we opted for this study, with the objective of evaluating the quality of life of women with uterine cervix cancer associated with renal disease. A quantitative, cross-sectional descriptive study with the objective of evaluating the quality of life of women with uterine cervix cancer associated with kidney disease, performed at the Ceará Cancer Institute in Fortaleza, CE, from january to july 2016, with 113 women diagnosed with uterine cervix cancer (UCC). There was a predominance of adult women aged between 24 and 59 years (61.6%), married (46.9%), children (95.6%), natural (60.5%) and residents (71.68 %) In the Fortaleza-CE Macroregion, with incomplete and complete elementary education (67.3%), monthly family income of 1 to 2 prevailing minimum wages (81.4%), and occupants of household items (38.1%). It is noteworthy that 30 women lived in the other Macroregions of the State of Ceará, and 2 in other states in the Northeast Region. The majority of women did not present depression, according to the parameter found in the Hamilton Scale (HAM-D). The Karnofsky Index (IK) showed 46 (40.7%) women who reached 80.0% of this index, which means that they had "Normal activity, with some difficulty, some signs and symptoms", followed by 45 (39.8%) in which an index of 90.0% was found, which is to be "capable of normal activity, few signs or symptoms of the disease". It was evidenced that the CCU affected the quality of life (QoL) of the women reaching varying concepts and levels according to each domain of the SF 36 instrument. Among the 8 domains studied, the one that presented better relation with the QoL was the domain of the Emotional Aspects. On the other hand, the domain that presented less satisfactory relation, with regular score, was the domain of the Social Aspects. The relationship between two impacting diseases was verified, as is the case of cancer and renal disease and their influence on QoL. Therefore, there is a need for measures aimed at contributing to a better QoL of these women, and it is necessary for the multidisciplinary team to adopt strategies aimed at improving the areas that have been affected, in order to promote a satisfactory overall QoL.
