This study aims to analyze the trajectory of teacher Nubia Birth Marques , investigating their contributions to education in Sergipe . It also seeks to highlight the woman intellectual , writer , teacher , poet , and his work as a pioneer in Sergipana Academy of Letters ( ASL ) . The time frame covers the period from 1978, the year of entry into the ASL , 1999, the year of his death . The sources were located inside the Library , Federal University of Sergipe , in the General Archives of the Federal University of Sergipe , records in newspapers of the Institute of History and Geography of Sergipe and the Social Service Department of the Federal University of Sergipe . The theoretical-methodological procedures adopted are linked to the assumptions of Cultural History and Biographical Approach . The main categories of analysis are mobilized : Social Capital , Cultural Capital , Bourdieu´s Masculine Domination (1998 ) ; intellectual Sirinelli ( 2003). Nubia Birth Marques was one Agent cultural active woman bound in culture and education . Thus , this study intend to investigate the performance of this character in the educational setting and understand the contributions to the history of education in Sergipe . / Este estudo objetiva analisar a trajetória da professora Núbia Nascimento Marques, investigando suas contribuições para a educação em Sergipe. Busca ainda destacar a mulher intelectual, escritora, professora, poetisa e sua atuação como pioneira na Academia Sergipana de Letras (ASL). O recorte temporal abrange o período de 1978, ano de seu ingresso na ASL, a 1999, ano de sua morte. As fontes privilegiadas foram localizadas na Biblioteca da Universidade Federal de Sergipe, no Arquivo Geral da Universidade Federal de Sergipe, registros em jornais localizados do Instituto Histórico e Geográfico de Sergipe, Revista da Academia Sergipana de Letras e no Departamento de Serviço Social da Universidade Federal de Sergipe. Os procedimentos teóricometodológicos adotados vinculam-se aos pressupostos da História Cultural e da Abordagem Biográfica. As principais categorias de analises mobilizadas são: Capital Social, Capital Cultural, Dominação Masculina, de Bourdieu (1998); intelectual de Sirinelli (2003); representação de Chartier (2002) e biografia de Norbert Elias (1995). Desta forma, este estudo tem a pretensão de investigar a atuação desta personagem no cenário educacional sergipano e perceber as suas contribuições para a História da Educação no Estado.
