Defining General Conservation Principles For Primary Schools Of Rum Minority In Istanbul

Ekmekci, Onur Tunc 01 September 2012 (has links) (PDF)
In this thesis, it is aimed to make a study on Primary Schools of Rum Minority in Istanbul, and in light of this study, to define general principles for conservation studies on these schools. Rum Minority had an important part in social and cultural life in Istanbul and in late 19th Century, their impact in the city increased with their financial power, especially in Beyoglu. Increase in number of schools they built also occurred in the same timeline. Schools built in and after this term by Rum Minority were built as important public buildings of a minority group and possess strong authenticity, technical-artistic, socio-cultural and economical values. In order to decide which values, problems and potentials these buildings bear, a site survey study is done for this thesis. Primary Schools of Rum Minority in Istanbul are among strongest solid evidences of cultural diversity in Istanbul, and Turkey. While conserving these cultural assets, considering all their values, problems, and potentialities is vital. In addition to conservation studies, interpretation and presentation are also necessary steps for reintegration of these buildings to the city. This thesis performs as an effort made to document features and current state of these schools, decide their value, problems, and potentials / and defining general conservation principles for them.

Kvalita pšenice / The quality of wheat grain

VOKATÁ, Lucie January 2016 (has links)
The main objective thesis was consider resistence of grow grain as elementary qualitative parameter food wheat by selection variety winter wheat. The test was create in vegetational period of years 2014/2015 on the plot of Faculty of Agriculture, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. In total was for test select 9 variety winter wheat. All variety had show high value number fall, high resistence against grow grain, which ranged 376 to 512 s. In evaluation observe variety suitability in terms of baking, we can say elite (E) inbreads reached the highest average number values fall (479 s). Quality (A) varietes showed value (453 s) and bread (B) varieties reached the lowest value (435 s). The partial objective was evaluation and other indicators (Zeleny test, The content of N-substances and density). Value of Zeleny test ranged 35 to 53 ml., from it averaged of all varietes 49,4 ml. The content of N-substances varied for each variety in 14,23 % - 16,52 %. Most of the studied varieties meet the standard set limit density (760 g/l-1). Ranged from 747 to 819 g/l-1. During the vegetation was also evaluated the health status of vegetation and there has been a determination of ears per square meter. After harvesting, they were also evaluated as further yield elements (number of grains per spike and HTZ). The experiment was evaluated by a high level of quality indicators, where individual varieties also showed high rebenues. This may be primarily affected by higher than average temperatures during the period of years 2014/2015, agrotechnics, but but also the level of nutrition and fertilization of crops.

Performance Analysis of Non Local Means Algorithm using Hardware Accelerators

Antony, Daniel Sanju January 2016 (has links) (PDF)
Image De-noising forms an integral part of image processing. It is used as a standalone algorithm for improving the quality of the image obtained through camera as well as a starting stage for image processing applications like face recognition, super resolution etc. Non Local Means (NL-Means) and Bilateral Filter are two computationally complex de-noising algorithms which could provide good de-noising results. Due to its computational complexity, the real time applications associated with these letters are limited. In this thesis, we propose the use of hardware accelerators such as GPU (Graphics Processing Units) and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) to speed up the filter execution and efficiently implement using them. GPU based implementation of these letters is carried out using Open Computing Language (Open CL). The basic objective of this research is to perform high speed de-noising without compromising on the quality. Here we implement a basic NL-Means filter, a Fast NL-Means filter, and Bilateral filter using Gauss Polynomial decomposition on GPU. We also propose a modification to the existing NL-Means algorithm and Gauss Polynomial Bilateral filter. Instead of Gaussian Spatial Kernel used in standard algorithm, Box Spatial kernel is introduced to improve the speed of execution of the algorithm. This research work is a step forward towards making the real time implementation of these algorithms possible. It has been found from results that the NL-Means implementation on GPU using Open CL is about 25x faster than regular CPU based implementation for larger images (1024x1024). For Fast NL-Means, GPU based implementation is about 90x faster than CPU implementation. Even with the improved execution time, the embedded system application of the NL-Means is limited due to the power and thermal restrictions of the GPU device. In order to create a low power and faster implementation, we have implemented the algorithm on FPGA. FPGAs are reconfigurable devices and enable us to create a custom architecture for the parallel execution of the algorithm. It was found that the execution time for smaller images (256x256) is about 200x faster than CPU implementation and about 25x faster than GPU execution. Moreover the power requirements of the FPGA design of the algorithm (0.53W) is much less compared to CPU(30W) and GPU(200W).

Juillard, Sandrine 08 1900 (has links)
Apoptotic exosomes (ApoExo) are vascular injury derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) released by apoptotic endothelial cells (ECs) with distinct size, protein, RNA profile and enzymatic activity from classical apoptotic bodies. Our group showed that ApoExo accelerated vascular rejection in association with circulating anti-LG3, autoantibodies (autoAb) against LG3, the 5’ fragment of the perlecan. We have also unravelled biomarkers and effector roles of anti-LG3 in kidney vascular damage in both native and transplanted kidneys. Lupus Nephritis (LN) is a common and serious manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Biomarkers of progressive renal dysfunction in LN, are lacking. We hypothesize that ApoExo stimulate specific B cells that exist in the normal immune repertoire and that the pro-inflammatory conditions prevalent in SLE patients, such as increased Toll-like Receptors (TLRs) activation, amplify this response, leading to anti-LG3 production, autoAb of importance in LN development. B cells producing anti-LG3 were found in the peritoneal cavity of healthy mice and produced anti-LG3 AutoAb when stimulated in vitro with TLR 1/2, 4, 7 and 9 agonists. Interestingly, these cells disappeared from the peritoneal cavity of healthy mice infused with ApoExo. ApoExo infusion also triggered circulating IL-23/IL-17 autoimmune axis (measured by cytokines assay), increased splenic germinal centre B cells (measured by flow cytometry), increased total circulating IgG, anti-LG3 and classical autoAb (measured by microarray and ELISA) compared to vehicle infusion. Elevated circulating anti-LG3 IgG levels are found in SLE prone mice compared to healthy ones (measured by ELISA) as well as an increased proportion of splenic and peritoneal cavity B1 cells (measured by flow cytometry). Exploring the functional importance of TLRs in triggering such a response, we show that while TLR agonists known to contribute to SLE pathogenesis (TLR2, 4, 7 and 9) triggered significantly higher IgM anti-LG3 production, stimulation of TLR that are not associated with SLE pathogenesis (TLR3 and 5) did not. These observations suggest a specific role for ApoExo in modulating the production of autoAb which, in turn, trigger microvascular involution of importance in autoimmune diseases and transplant rejection. These observations also suggest that LG3-specific B cells may be modulated under pro-inflammatory conditions such as those prevalent in lupus patients, leading to production of autoAb. A better understanding of the impact of these mechanisms will lead to improved identification, prediction, and management of LN.

Investigation of Integrated Decoupling Methods for MIMO Antenna Systems. Design, Modelling and Implementation of MIMO Antenna Systems for Different Spectrum Applications with High Port-to-Port Isolation Using Different Decoupling Techniques

Salah, Adham M.S. January 2019 (has links)
Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) antenna technology refers to an antenna with multiple radiators at both transmitter and receiver ends. It is designed to increase the data rate in wireless communication systems by achieving multiple channels occupying the same bandwidth in a multipath environment. The main drawback associated with this technology is the coupling between the radiating elements. A MIMO antenna system merely acts as an antenna array if the coupling between the radiating elements is high. For this reason, strong decoupling between the radiating elements should be achieved, in order to utilize the benefits of MIMO technology. The main objectives of this thesis are to investigate and implement several printed MIMO antenna geometries with integrated decoupling approaches for WLAN, WiMAX, and 5G applications. The characteristics of MIMO antenna performance have been reported in terms of scattering parameters, envelope correlation coefficient (ECC), total active reflection coefficient (TARC), channel capacity loss (CCL), diversity gain (DG), antenna efficiency, antenna peak gain and antenna radiation patterns. Three new 2×2 MIMO array antennas are proposed, covering dual and multiple spectrum bandwidths for WLAN (2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz) and WiMAX (3.5 GHz) applications. These designs employ a combination of DGS and neutralization line methods to reduce the coupling caused by the surface current in the ground plane and between the radiating antenna elements. The minimum achieved isolation between the MIMO antennas is found to be better than 15 dB and in some bands exceeds 30 dB. The matching impedance is improved and the correlation coefficient values achieved for all three antennas are very low. In addition, the diversity gains over all spectrum bands are very close to the ideal value (DG = 10 dB). The forth proposed MIMO antenna is a compact dual-band MIMO antenna operating at WLAN bands (2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz). The antenna structure consists of two concentric double square rings radiating elements printed symmetrically. A new method is applied which combines the defected ground structure (DGS) decoupling method with five parasitic elements to reduce the coupling between the radiating antennas in the two required bands. A metamaterial-based isolation enhancement structure is investigated in the fifth proposed MIMO antenna design. This MIMO antenna consists of two dual-band arc-shaped radiating elements working in WLAN and Sub-6 GHz 5th generation (5G) bands. The antenna placement and orientation decoupling method is applied to improve the isolation in the second band while four split-ring resonators (SRRs) are added between the radiating elements to enhance the isolation in the first band. All the designs presented in this thesis have been fabricated and measured, with the simulated and measured results agreeing well in most cases. / Higher Committee for Education Development in Iraq (HCED)

Ludwig Adrian Richter - der berühmte Enkel eines Kammerherrn von Schloss Wachau wurde zum Namensgeber der Lotzdorfer Schule

Schönfuß-Krause, Renate 01 July 2021 (has links)

Courants de spin et l'effet Hall de spin dans des nanostructures latérales / Spin currents and spin Hall effect in lateral nano-structures

Laczkowski, Piotr 05 October 2012 (has links)
This PhD thesis focus on the study of spin currents and of the spin Hall effect in lateralnano-structures. Lateral spin-valves based on Py/Al, Py/Cu and Py/Au, fabricated by meansof electron-beam lithography, have been optimized and characterized using magneto-resistancemeasurements. Non-local, GMR and Hanle effect measurements have been recorded at 300K and77K. The optimization of these lateral spin-valves allowed the observation of high spin signalamplitudes. Lateral and vertical confinement effects on the spin accumulation, by using confinednon-magnetic channel and AlOx tunnel barriers, were evidenced experimentally and describedtheoretically. Finite Elements Method simulations and analyses based on a 1D diffusion modelhave been developed, allowing the extraction from our experimental data of the effective spinpolarization Peff and of the spin diffusion length lNsf .Finally, the spin Hall effect of materials with high spin Hall angles (Pt, Au alloys) has beenstudied using both hybrid lateral nano-structures and spin pumping ferro-magnetic resonance.
